So here's mostly the final list, I like the cards, but it seems I kind of ran out of space. I wanted some token generators, but it doesn't look like that'll happen as of now. I've never been good at land bases, so if somone wants to help, please do. Please tell me what you think.
It's a pretty time consuming thing to do, but so far I'm having fun. I'm thinking what I'm going to try to do is throw in tokens and Nantuko Husk like creatures. Any advice/card suggestions etc. would be greatly appriciated. Thanks.
Thanks for the responses. I was thinking about making a Rofellos, Llanowar Emissary deck because of how easy and cheap it looked like it could be, but then I read and saw that he is one of the more hated generals in EDH, I don't want to be a jerk. I think I am going to attempt a Thraximundar build. Hopefully I will be able to post some up later today or tommorow. Suggestions/Help would be greatly appriciated. Without the knowledge of EDH, i'm sure i will be missing out on cards that are screaming to be played, so if it's not in there and it should be, tell me. Thanks alot.
Hello. I'm lost. I have been playing standard off and on for a little while now, but EDH is really intriguing to me. Recently I watched a group at my local store play and it looked great. I really want to get in to the format, but I don't know where to start. After browsing through the forum, I have become completly overwhelmed by the sheer number of decks and card. I want to find a nice deck to learn the format with, cheap, but fun, with the potential to be explosive. I am hoping people can post some budget decklists for me to try out as well as an explanation as to how they work. I enjoy playing a more agressive deck, but anything is fine.
I've been wanting to build a wall deck for a while. I was thinking of taking the lifegain route to win via Felidar Sovereign. Here's what I was thinking, but this is with no testing.
I have just been snooping around this forum for a while now, and I really want to get into EDH. The problem is, i've only been playing magic for 6 months and have only ever played standard. I have no idea what works and what doesn't. I have no knowledge of old cards. I'm at a loss. I'm curious to know how other people started. Can anyone post a decklist that's really easy to learn with? I don't know... Please help
I'm going to test this out. Changes were...
-4 MB Duress
+2 Corrupt
+3 Rite of Consumption
Yes, it is 61 cards, but I think it just seems like the right number.
Also, added a sideboard. Duress for the Removal Heavy/Control Matchup, Infest for Weenies/Tokens, and Haunting Echoes for the long matchup which I expect might happen more often with the added life gain from Corrupt. Not sure what the remaining slots in the SB should be, was thinking maybe like Warren Wierding for Chameleon Colossus and other Pro-Black dudes, but I'm not quite sure I like it...
I'm not much of a Deck Critiquer, but I thought I might put my list up here. You don't have to run Bitterblossom, but even without it Vampire Aristocrat is really tech, even without the ability to put damage on the stack. With that being said, here's my list.
Seems really removal heavy. If I were playing this, I would cut the Unmakes in favor of another creature. I use Painter's Servant, but one of the black changelings would probably work out nicely too.
You might consider cutting a couple swamps in favor of Mutavault. Also, you could try finding a home for either Duress or Thoughtseize. If you plan on using Bitterblossom + Vampire Aristocrat to its fullest you might also consider Rite of Consumption.
I guess I kind of wanted a control version of Vampires, but I do see now that I went a bit overboard on removal. I guess i'll try...
-4 Unmake
+4 Duress
As for adding another creature, I sort of count Bitterblossom as a creature as well and some tokens to sac, and I think 16 seems like a good number, I'll do some testing though and see how it works out. I would run Mutavault if I could afford it but I can't right now. (Bitterblossom's are a friends) Also, Mutavault would weaken Corrupt and Tendrils of Corruption. Rite of Comsumption seems like overkill to me, but I'll have to test it because it does seem pretty strong in the right situation.
Thanks for the input.
EDIT: First I have to say, after testing, I love this deck. It doesn't work the greatest but it's really fun. Bitterblossom is an MVP. Tendrils and Corrupt also worked very well. I do now agree though that Rite of Consumption would be nice to have, I'm just not sure what can be taken out for it... Any ideas?
Well, I really like the idea, the only thing I might say, (and by no means listen to me) but I think adding white to the deck would help. You could use Flickerwisp, Turn to Mist, and Mistmeadow Witch. I also think that Cloudgoat Ranger could be strong a strong target. I'm not a great magic player but that's what I think.
I messed around with this deck a while ago, and I found it pretty fun, but never built it. Instead I built another deck. Now, since M10 is in and Tenth is out, I have no deck, so I decided to come back this...
Basically what happens is you counter and bounce most of their stuff until you get an army of Faeries. Then you win the game via Notorious Throng. I'm not looking for the deck to be super competitive, but I would like it to be able to win against some good decks and beat some of the random FNM junk. I don't have too much money at this point in time and would like to keep the cost of the deck around 35 dollars.
Please help... (I am clueless when it comes to decks)

From there I decided I needed to build Vampires. Is that cool or what? This proves to me that Vampires are in Zendikar. (I sure hope he makes tokens.)
