This goes to prove don't judge anything until you play with it. Who knows in 1 months time everyone will probably be saying that BFZ is the best set ever printed with so many playable rares
I...I really don't want to spend money on this set. Apparently the Eldrazi are sucking all the power out of the cards themselves.
Everyone fails to remember just how bad the rares were in the original Zendikar set. Everyone was blinded by the fetchlands to remember I guess. There was maybe 3-4 playable rares and a couple of mythics that's it. This set has about the same if not more. Not saying the set is any good just it's about on par with the original Zendikar set.
Early leaks irk me and these past couple haven't even been truly 100% accurate. Yes, they've given us pretty much what they do, but not actually word for word and no picture either.
So, I dunno, just stop reading leaks, stop reading MTGsalvation and only read official leaks from Wizards site?
That would be good, but when your job is to sell the new cards that are coming out, it's always good to find the non Wizard site previews that happen daily once spoilers start. All early leaks do is lessen the element of surprise and hype for a set
I feel if Wizards wanted to do high profile reprints they would wait for the 2nd set of a block as it's in standard for a shorter amount of time. And we all know once the cycle actually starts happening they won't need high profile reprints to sell the 1st set as it's sets a new standard and all the cards will be sought after.
My dreams are
5 Enemy Tango Lands
5 Enemy Man-lands
5 Allied Man-lands
5 Colorless Lands (Urza Tron, Inkmoth, and Wasteland)
I think the first 15 are for sure, and the last 5 are pipe dreams, but come on, dream big or go home. Trust me you tell players there is a chance of a foil full art Wasteland in packs and deliver day is going to be like Black Friday at every LGS.
I like the idea of Tron alot, but there's no way they would put both enemy tango and enemy man lands, that would mean that both are in the actual set. And a set with only 35 rares no way 10 of them are lands.
I could see wasteland being one of the Expeditions in Oath along with 4 other utility lands to go with the other 5 duals and 10 of another cycle like filters or something. It could be Wasteland, Cavern of Souls, Mutavault and 2 other sought after lands.
Maybe it's just me but I actually liked when WotC stepped in and pretty much stopped all early leaks of spoilers after the God Book incident happened. The thrill of spoiler season is waiting to see upcoming spoilers every day. Early leaks irk me and these past couple haven't even been truly 100% accurate. Yes, they've given us pretty much what they do, but not actually word for word and no picture either. So whoever is actually doing this I'd suggest stopping unless you can actually provide a picture. All this, "well, if it's costs 1B it's insaine, even 2B it's pretty good, or "Ally's wouldn't be tokens, they'd be Knights at 2/2, or this card is obviously wrong it's too weak to be a mythic, wizards is really dropping the ball here". That's just my 2 cents
Green was way back on rares, but it definitely caught up today. Here's the updated missing rares and mythic:
2 white rares
1 blue rare
1 black rare and 1 mythic
2 green rares
3 rare artifacts/lands
So yeah, not a lot left. However, we are missing a lot of uncommons, more than half of them.
You guys forget to note that in sets past, whenever a color had 1 less mythic it always had 1 more rare, making it possible that 8 is the max per color and leaving 8 rares left for artifacts/gold/land
Isn't it unlikely, though, that both Magma Jet and Thoughtseize are in Theros? Maro's hint was:
The way it was presented, it refers to only one card. We do not have Wizards confirmation for either card.
If you actually read the article it starts by saying
"Let me start by reminding you all that I am only giving you partial information. Everything I'm saying is true but I might be leaving a few things out."
So just because he says a card that could have been in Modern Masters doesn't mean it can't be more than one.
I believe the live stream is just for the panel tomorrow after the PAX party and everything tonight. That being said the PAX party starts at 7PM PST I believe so we just have to keep refreshing the fourms like always. Unless I'm mistaken.
