I used to play bass guitar and was in a band with a few friends during my early highscool years. I was mediocre at best. I also used to sing, was a tenor. (Think that's changed since my freshmen year of highschool though...probably more of a baritone now)
I don't do either anymore. Lost interest and now my bass and amp sit in the corner of my old room gathering dust.
Myself and the guys I play with on a regular basis locally are all clean, smell-free individuals. When I attend larger events I'll occasionally encounter the rank one, but it's few and far between.
Honestly I think you can take most social groups and find a minority who have hygiene problems. It's not unique to gamers.
It educates, enlightens, and looks good a college record.
I don't debate on MTGS, but when I was involved in the NFL Speech & Debate program throughout highschool it was mainly about ego and elitism. I was often unhappy if I didn't come home with a trophy, but that rarely happened. I didn't really care whether or not I was right or wrong. (You can't really care too much, when you're forced to debate both sides of a topic multiple times during a tournament) Debating on MTGS and debating in an NFL sanctioned tournament are two very seperate things. (Obviously) So yeah, I come from a completely different group of "debaters."
I also enjoyed making friends and by my Senior year the majority of my friends I had met through Debate in one way or another. (The rest were through Magic) It was also cool to have the younger debaters look up to you for guidance.
I have to believe that a professional of Ruel's standing would realize that, if you're going to shuffle your opponent's deck, you either look away or look at your opponent while you're doing it..you don't look at the deck. That's common sense.
That's what I do...and I'm far from a pro.
So I find it hard to believe that this was a mistake especially after ocurring twice in a high level event.
I'm 18. I live in Springfield, Missouri. I share the rent on a 3 bedroom house with a couple of my friends. I'm starting my freshmen year of college this fall. My parents pay for my bills, and my student loan pays for the majority of my education, so I'm far from independent. I live about 2 hours from my hometown of Nevada, Missouri. I'll probably return home on holidays and select weekends, possibly next summer as well...just depends.
Nice deck; it seems very good for your second draft.
Yeah, I just went into it actively thinking about what I wanted. Plus, I've participated in a lot of sealed. So I not horrible at building out of a limited card pool

I would have cut an Island in favor of a Plains though, as you need double white for Boreal Griffin and usually for Squall Drifter.
Yeah, there were a few times I needed two white out when I didn't have it. Mainly when I had out multiple Drifters.
Just recently moved away for upcoming college. Participated in my first draft on Wednesday and performed badly. I then came back to the house, studied the spoiler, entered another draft on Thursday and drafted this:
I did much better, making it to finals, losing 2-1, and earning $15 store credit. Surging AEther was nuts for me and won me several games by itself. I also won several games by keeping my opponents creatures tapped down and locked out of combat via Taskmages, Drifters, and Shackles. Vexing Sphinx was amazing as well and worked nicely with Perilous Research.
Edit: Hmmm, deck tags aren't working correctly or something...oh well.

Sigur Rós
At the Drive-In/The Mars Volta
Nine Inch Nails
Elliot Smith
Ben Folds/Ben Folds Five
...it's too hard for me to choose favorite songs.

Anyhow, back to lurking.
