I've got a question... if we were to throw a Greater Gargadon into this one and had it suspended... if we were to cast Boom targeting one of our lands and one of theirs... is it possible to sacrifice the land to the gargadon in response and still have the Boom resolve without losing another land? And of course late game you can play Bust and sac all your lands to the gargadon before they blow up, giving you a huge creature that'll be hard for them to take down for at least a few turns.
Yes, yes you could. The Boom half targets both lands, and will still resolve if one goes away.
EDIT: Sarnath'd.... Thats what I get for taking time to actually read the thread.
Basically, once the creature spell resolves (this means uncountered) your opponent can't respond to the "as ____ comes into play" effects and the creature can no longer be countered.
I was toying around on day trying to figure out a way to make this work in Block, and I think it could work... with Whitemane Lion and scads of (normally) 2/2 slivers... At 2/2 you get Reflex Sliver, Might Sliver, Bonesplitter Sliver and so forth. It's a shame you have to leave the 2/2 guys to pick up some sort of evasion, but you can still crank out 18 points of hasty power with the same 6 mana you used to cast Wild Pair, and that's without any other slivers in play to start.
The reasons:
Fathom Seer's useability is at its peak in the mid-late game, where this deck's is in the early-mid game. Need I say more?
Viscerid Deepwalker is pretty much an auto-block for any smart opponent, opening you to Fortify them to a low enough life total to either kill them or end them with one more hit.
Stormcloud Djinn is a large-bodied flyer. Granted he isn't at peak efficiency here since you can't produce :symr::symr: for his pump ability, but this guy can swing the game significantly in your favor with just a couple hits
FSM, while that looks more stable on paper, the loss of the Deepwalker, Urza's Factory (Your colors dont matter, if you're pumping out 2/2's every turn you ain't gotta worry about running outta dudes.), and Liege of the Pit hurts majorly. Also, I'd only had :symb::symb::symb::symb: to morph him up once, and that game I'd lost. He's much easier to get out for :5mana::symb::symb::symb:.
I can see the arguments for Pentarch Ward, Withered Wretch, and Arena, but Ophidian Eye? I dropped it on a Mawcor and drew cards every EoT that i didnt ping a saproling away.
As for running so many lands, and cards in the deck:
Terramorphic Expanses and Chromatic star dont get included into my total when building, as they either unconditionally thin the deck by one(Expanse), or provide instant mana fixing and cantrippery(Sphere). In actuality, i was running a 42 card deck with 18 land, which seems about right given that it's 3 color and wants to have all three colors reliably and early.
On the Mana Skimmers: I can see the argument for these, they evade AND tie up opposing mana indefinitely, and can even lock them out of their splash color, but at 4 mana and only being a 2/2 they never get out early enough for them to be relevant enough for me to make use of their ability, or get killed with a Tendrils, Sudden Shock, Nightshade Assassin, ect before ever hitting once, making them little more than just a wasted turn and a discarded card. To be quite honest, the ONLY reason that I have these is they were late picks in packs 1-2 (all 3 past pick 12) and having them used against you when you dont have an answer for them is annoying.
Or turn a one-sided block into a trade, like in round 2 I swung with my Cyclopean Giant, who was blocked by a Deep-Sea Kraken. It also goes well with Outriders, turning it into a slightly overcosted but colorless Master Decoy.
Firstly, leaving out the Blink was a decision I'd made purely out of stupidity, the Ward should've been out in its place. Fortunately enough though, the Ward had made itself more useful than the Blink would have, enabling me to get my own creatures out of Solitary, and even giving them evasion. Secondly, the Cyclopean Giant over the Skittering Monstrosity was twofold: the Cyclopean Giant could be enchanted by my permanents, and Cyclopean Giant can disrupt your opponent's mana upon its demise.
On a related note, would choosing 0 cards to shuffle in cause a shuffle? (For the purposes of Psychogenic Probe) I'm inclined to say yes, but not 100% sure and am too lazy to look in the comp rules atm.
No, this doesn't work. The Doubling Season stops being an artifact (and thus a creature)the moment it changes zones. Add a Mycosynth Lattice and it'll work for you, and cast armogeddon on you both as well
Edit: D'oh. I misread Followed Footsteps as Flickerform. It works fine.
502.34a Imprint is an activated or triggered ability, written "Imprint - [text]," where "[text]" is a triggered or activated ability. Cards that are in the removed-from-the-game zone because they were removed from the game by an imprint ability are imprinted on the source of that ability.
502.34b The phrase "imprinted [type] card" means the card of that type that's imprinted on the permanent. If a permanent has more than one card of that type imprinted on it, each of those cards is an "imprinted [type] card."
As written, Chrome Mox would tap for mana of the same color(s) as the Imprinted card. Unless the Chrome Mox somehow became a Panoptic Mirror spliced onto a Isochron Scepter (read: Impossible), you can't play the Imprinted card by paying any amount.
Yes, yes you could. The Boom half targets both lands, and will still resolve if one goes away.

2: No, creatures do not get flipped face down.

IMO you missed the best one in Necrotic Sliver.

Anything anyone would've done differently?
My changes would be:
-2 Dark Depths
-1 Savage Twister
+1 Jolrael, Empress of Beasts
+2 Urza's Factory
Seal of Primordium
Enchantment
Sac: Regenerate target artifact or enchantment.
-OR-
Seal of Primorduim :1mana::symg:
Enchantment
Sac: Return target enchantment card in your graveyard to play.
On the second, an RFG clause may be put on to prevent some wonky combo with 2 of them.
Thoughts?
Yeah, it works. Go crash some MTGO pal
