Actually in the article it states:
And finally, the Imagine: Courageous Critters showcase treatment invites you to envision renowned Planeswalkers and creatures were they to visit the plane of Bloomburrow!

So, it's not canon. Just an art treatment. Ral is still human. Which... if everyone on bloomburrow is the size of the real animal, then Ral is a giant among those. It's possible Ral knows an izzet spell that shrinks him though, or shall I say downsizes him.

My theory is that Jace is not on the plane because his artwork didn't come with a name, so he's likely a reprint.

Ral is explicitly said to be there in the otter form. We even have the art for him, and a name. Jace and the other ones are said to be the versions how they would have looked IF THEY VISITED BLOOMBURROW.

I guess that Bloomburrow works like Segovia, having a "morphologic field" that accomodates the visitors. Segovia shrinks, Bloomburrow transforms.

By the way, Coralina seems to be an Ixalan bat. She's called "Cosmos caller", and have the typical violet cosmium energy around her. Ironically, "Cosmos" is in MTG related to Kaldheim, not Ixalan.

    The Arena bundles leak confirms:

    Tinybones companion

    Card names:

Vraska, the Silencer (clearly at least partially decompleated, the snake-hair have nevertheless metallic sheen and the spiky protrusions towards face are more similar to her Betrayal's Sting version - but the face is un-deformed again. Then again, if Nahiri has back hands instead of swords, this is just a minor technicality)
    Oko, the Ringleader
    Kellan, the Kid

Nelly broc...:WAIT WAIT WAIT! wizards failed to mention or I missed that Bell Borca, Spectral Sergeant had a daughter.. and for abilties Uuuuugh im gonna to groan when i see this commander (but truthfully your better off using Marisi, Breaker of the Coil as the commander you will add G) to the deck.)

Given what we know, he most probably did NOT have any progeny Smile Can be a relative, though, a grand-grand-grand....grand-niece or something.

Fun fact: In the vein of Slavic inspired names, Morska means literally "marine", or "sea"(adjective)in Czech (mořská) and Polish.

Heh, so she is not a grandsomething niece, but..just a niece Smile

Nelly is also the niece of Bell Borca, a Boros sergeant best known for having solved his own murder after he died. She grew up listening to tales of his death and subsequent investigations, which inspired her to join the Boros Legion as well

I knew they just would not miss the opportunity to make a Columbo reference...with Proft being pretty much cosplaying Columbo in the story...

Pacing was definitely better. 10 stories should be a standard for a set.

Proft cosplaying Colombo was quite nice. I was really expecting a "...and just one more thing..." scene.

Not explaining how Rakdos ends up at Thunder Junction is bad. Especially when it seemed that Judith's story set it up.

Also, with her fate uncertain, we do not know what happened to Agrus Kos's spirit afterwards. He might be still imprisoned.

Teysa actually not minding becoming a ghost is not surprising, especially when there were hints that she is easily tired and the age starts to catch up with her.

Too bad that the split cards have single word names, because this set would be great for " **** around // Find out" card...

Is it just me or they essentially caught Anzrag, essentially a god, in a pokéball?

Hopefully Kos will be released again.

Really interesting twist about Izoni and the Golgari being voluntary pariahs for greater good.

It would be quite cool to have actually Jace and Vraska survive...

OOOOUCH we also end up with RIP Teysa as well. famous characters are dropping like fly's in the story

Well, they probably do not know what to do with these characters anyway. Remember Jodah during last Dominaria, we do not even know whether he survived.

And Teysa can easily become an Orzhov ghost.

Well, I do not quite care. Still less crazy that the hints about dropping shaman/druid types.

Or this kind person telling the "Latinx" (whatever that is), despite "not being one of them" why and how they shall be angry because of their "moment" being spoiled by "another big White dominated pop culture thing."

    https://twitter.com/kilnfiendpotter/status/1717017599157145904

Kindred - okay, I understant the word "tribal" being problematic. Totem....meh...

Rakshasa dropping the "cat" part, well, whatever. It was coined by DnD in pretty much the same way Tolkien made elves into beautiful long-lived humanoids instead of pixies. If they feel they need to de-felinize the Tarkir ones, OK. But it would be stupid to do it to Mahadi, who's pulled from DnD.

Naga to snakes ... this is, I guess, purely for game reasons. Mythologically they should have been serpents, not snakes; but then again serpents tend to be gigantic creatures in Magic, and usually aquatic (because if they are terrestrial, they are usually called wurms...)

It would be immensely ironic, though, if they really dropped "shaman" type before Outlaws of Thunder Junction.

One thing I don't like about the Episodes and side story - they emphasize the gods other than Aclazotz far too little. Don't just tell me that Ojer Axonil and allies only had bit parts!

I caught one mention of Ojer Kaslem helping the Oltecs rebuilding, and that's it...

Overall, I quite enjoyed the story for Lost Caverns of Ixalan. Barring some worldbuilding issues - like native-inspired characters calling their grandpas "abuelos" - this was quite thrilling. And there's now two villains in Magic's roster on the loose.

i might actually want a TDLR of the story which two villains (im assuming theres a connection to the big arc)

(the reason is clearly i prefer 1 or 2 chapters a day)

though i do know 1 TDLR

my theory Kellan forms the Avengers type of thing for the big arc is looking more than good.

Amaila actually requested to join him so who knows who kellan will get from ravnica since that's likely where he lands next. (and who knows where Oko where land in this since he his dad and will encounter him in the cowboy set coming up)

I think it¨s gonna be the new "detective" guy from Murders at Karlov Manor.

Well, we kinda got what was expected.

Too fast, too much telling, not showing, something felt just like ticking boxes.

As expected, it centered on Aclazotz, who was hinted in the very first Ixalan.

Basically, like Eldraine, it shows another world that was f**ked up by the invasion and heads towards dissension and, in this case, one or even two civil wars.

The Mycotyrant is basically Phyrexia in small scale. With the omenpaths open, it can even expand to other worlds.

So all this story accomplished is:

    - Setting up another return to Ixalan
    - Killing Huatli's cousin
    - a potential new threat to Multiverse
    - Kellan getting another companion to travel. I have a suspicion that this will be repeated, with him getting his own Guardians of the Galaxy Multiverse team along the arc. Tinybones could make a good Rocket, well?

Liked the cameo of Beckett Brass, though.
