uhm...
some other bands I've not seen on this forum:
arch enemy: try to hear 1 of the last 2 album and then find who is singing
immortal: they r no more immortal
amon amarth: I really like the album vs the world
six feet under: I only like the cover album (graveyard classics)
a couple of "small" bands:
kalmah
skyfire
Arch Enemy is awesome. Angela Gossow totally blows away many of the male vocalists in the genre and she is pretty hot too. Yes, that's right. There really is a female death metal singer. (Well, I guess most people wouldn't call it singing.)
Amon Amarth is pretty good, from what I have heard of them. Kalmah reminds me of Children of Bodom. And Skyfire... I was just listening to those guys last night. "Spectral" is a really good album by them.
A few other bands I haven't seen mentioned but should be: All That Remains, Bloodbath, Lamb of God, Nevermore, Testament, Unearth
where r the metallers?!?!
exept for archaic and me I see no one else...
anyway... I'm more death/black oriented but I also hear groups as black sabbath, pantera, nightwish, rammstein, underoath, hammerfall and some other
but the best is still scandinavian metal
You sound like my kinda guy. Scandinavian metal is where it's at.
Opeth, Dark Tranquility, Edge of Sanity, In Flames, At the Gates, The Haunted, Sentenced, Insomnium ... all great bands. If anyone feels like discussing these bands or metal/music in general, feel free to PM me.
Ixidor: I think Shadows Fall and Killswitch Engage both qualify more as metal than hardcore, although some people would combine the categories and call them "Metalcore". I personally don't really care, just as long as people don't call them nu-metal or something.
You've got a good point there. Metal and punk are similar in some ways, but I really think they belong in two separate threads.
I third that notion. >:D
