I love losing to combo decks kinda. Don't get me wrong though, losing sucks. I remember a combo deck though where he's just doing a bunch of stuff to draw cards and kill my creatures, and he almost passes to me, and I'm like wait! I think you can win right now! And we figured it out, and he had an infinite damage engine out that he did not know he had.
I hate losing to control.
That being said, if I lose, I don't really get that mad. If I lose on MTGO I can get angry. Especially if I made a play mistake and I knew it was a mistake. In real life though, when you see your opponent, I don't understand people getting angry.
I have been running 1 hurricane since bazooka suggested it. So often it hits to win the game. I ran two for a little bit, but I seemed to be getting it too much even with just two copies. I dunno, I guess I've been pretty lucky with hurricane though. People always get mad online when I hurricane ftw though. It's funny.
pretty much every time I draw hurricane it is what ends the game for me. I can usually get in about 15 damage very quick but then decks start to stabilize. the only time I generally do not want a hurricane in my hand is within the first 3 or 4 turns.
painters servant/flashfreeze is jank. The servant doesn't stand up on it's own, and against some decks (fae) flashfreeze is useless without painter's servant.
Snakeform is predictable kind of. It has been discussed in this thread, and generally once they know you have it they will hold back somewhat. I dunno though. Snakeform may be be sb against lark, I would say there are better options, but what are they?
"Bad day" is relative. I almost got laid off on Wednesday; that's a bad day.
Anyway, just be patient... you'll find one....
lol I DID get laid off on Wednesday, but for me it was a good day. I hated my job, and the severance they are giving us is ridiculously good. Also, with dislocated workers programs I can go back to school.
Try the decklist I posted. It's been doing fairly well. It's on page 69.
I need to pick up stillmoons yet. I'll probably be waiting a few weeks for that too... Just got laid off, so I don't really want to spend money on cards atm. I got tickets for some queues though, if I keep winning I'll be able to buy them soon enough.
Stillmoon cavalier will be the next thing I test for the deck. I'm also considering MD Paladin en vec. I think it should help the bw and rw matchups, and I have 3 slots that will be open unless something else comes from Conflux.
edit---
Just switched to 3 MD paladins. It is good against so many decks that do good against us. I definitely like it better than stillmoon too because it makes game 1 against rdw and especially blightning so much easier.
Changes I'm pretty sure I'll make are
+2 Vendelion Clique (I had them in there before but they weren't spectacular)
+2 Negate
-3 broken ambitions
-1 garruk
I'm also considering dropping the 3rd Jace for the 3rd clique, but so far Jace has outperformed the clique in all the time I've been playing the deck.
the best thing about this deck is how many times I get told I'm a bad player for playing it.
edit again---
After playing against lark some, I'm thinking the paladins should be cavaliers.
so the only matchup I am having trouble with tonight on Modo is rw lark. I'm not seeing much for bw tokens though. 5CC is my favorite MU right now because I always expect to do bad but always seem to do good.
Also, before this deck my rating on modo was low 1500s, but I just brought it to 1600 with my last tournament. To be fair though I hadn't invested anything into tourney decks since I played Mannequin
So I'm running three Jace now. It will only get better with the addition of hierarchs too. 2nd turn Jace is amazing. 2nd turn war monk is also amazing. 2nd turn shorecrasher mimic and being able to play treetop scout is amazing too. Hierarch I think is going to make this deck so much better by doing so little.
okay, so I've been playing in some 4 man queues tonight... First one I play in first match is something I don't remember. I 2-0ed... it wasn't a serious deck
Next match I played against fae. He must have kept bad draws though because I pretty much goldfished to the win.
then I played another 4man.
First match was the same fae deck I beat to win the last one. This time he played a bit better. Hurricane ended up winning games 1 and 3 for me.
this next match (well game one) is why I'm even posting any of this. The guy is playing BWtokens, but I had I guess a god hand or something because it went like this.
I go 2nd... Play bop, he plays BB turn two I drop Jace draw alone. He plays spectral procession (I think that's the name of the card) my turn I draw off of Jace, and get a shorecrasher (I was looking for a 2 drop so I could...) play hurricane for 1 killing his 4 tokens (and my birds) and drop the mimic. I don't even remember what he played next because after that I dropped a rafiq, and went to town (while negating his removal)
It was pretty much the perfect game against BW tokens... too bad he won the next two
I'm new to legacy too. I'm not so worried about price though, but rather I'm only playing what looks fun to me. That being said, I'm building Ichorid, and yes, it does look very cheap. Lion's Eye Diamond is the only real money card in the deck. All the other rares and high cost uncommons are only about 10 to 20 dollars for a playset.
I had doubts about how explosive the new build could be, but after my last game, I support it so much.
As far as treetops go, I play three. Cipt doesn't mean much if you play it first turn and when you drop a bop first turn, playing it second is just fine. The benefit is so much better than the the negative.
he had 4 cards in his hand, I had a decent amount of control magic too so I figured I'd just hold it back rather than nearly tap out and take a risk of him having more than 1 must stop card.
I possibly should have held back and just kept the clique to disrupt later but I figured I'd try to end it faster rather than let him draw more answers.
Normally I do great against Fae, so I'm not too worried about that game.

Is anyone else running any hurricane?

Also, wii fit doesn't look that good.
