They enter play with +1/-1 as the result of a continuous effect from a static ability.
They then trigger Pandemonium.
They then die to State-Based Effects as 2/0s.
Then the triggers are stacked.
Then those triggers resolve, using last-known information about the powers, each of which was 2.
yes, thank you for repeating exactly what i posted.
they'll trigger pandemonium, but they'll also do 2 damage.
here's how it works
Spell is played
Dovescape counters spell and creates tokens
Tokens are given +1/-1 as a SBE and as such die as 2/0s
Pandemonium triggers X times where X is the # of tokens
all i have to say since i still can't think of anything to say about the article is "wow, just wow" is to quote the headline: Husband rips wife's eyes out after she refuses sex
I declare an attack with my Primal Forcemage (2/2) and my Groundbreaker (9/4 due to the Forcemage's ability, but that's fairly irrelevant here).
Opponent declares blockers: Coiling Oracle will block the Forcemage. Then, "before damage goes on the stack," he plays Peel from Reality, targetting his Coiling Oracle and my Groundbreaker, and therefore taking no damage.
Is this correct? This is the way we played it, but I just wanted to make sure in case it ever comes up again.
Thanks!
yes, he can do that.
no combat damage has been assigned, so you can't take any trample damage because both the attacker and the blocker have vacated the red-zone
Don't worry. Getting 20ish cards signed at a time should be quite okay. I've seen people taking stacks of 40-60 cards to get signed by Mark Tedin in Singapore. Wonder what will he think. Artists are afterall human. So cut them some slack in signing cards In 1997 when Mark Tedin came here, I believe each person could only get 5 cards signed and then have to queue again.
(Beta-Male: Don't worry getting 20ish signed is okay, I just have a personal vendetta against those people piling heaps of cards for artists to sign. It is'nt considerate, rude I would say to pile up so many cards to get signed, and also holding up the queue, where people are just trying get a couple of cards signed. I'm not shooting you or whatsoever :))
whether or not 20ish is okay, i still apologized for bringing up a stack of more than 10.
i remember at GP Seattle they had a 12 card limit per trip through the line for Tedin, which I thought was an excellent idea.
cavotta and tedin are really cool guys. however, ed beard takes the cake.
met him at GP Charlotte in 2005. the organizers had to forcibly remove him from his hotel room to get there due to World of Warcraft. i apologized in advance for bringing him 20ish DCI psychatog promos (which have since grown to 30 and have been made into a playmat). when i told him about the playmat idea, his eyes got all big and he said "that's the coolest thing i've heard about all day"
he signed his name across 5 of teh togs and dated 'em. he just regular signed 14 more of them and for the 20th one, he converted him into Zorrotog
How long is a player allowed to sideboard before it's become excessive?
How long is a player allowed to take a turn before it becomes excessive? Now, I know that some situations require hard thinking, especially when the board is large or when a response may be in order to an important play. I also want to know how long a player is allowed when the board is empty or near empty and there is nothing to respond to, they simply seem to be thinking about a whole lot of nothing.
Now, the same questions, but at a major event... ( as it seems there can be less leniancy (sp) at these tournies )
What are the typical actions a Judge might take if a player is taking too much time or may be purposely stalling?
i believe the (un)official ruling on sideboarding and resolving mulligans is 3 minutes.
generally, anything uncomplicated like shuffling your deck after you crack a fetch land is given a rough limit of 1 minute.

Dusty Rhodes has successfully lobbied for WWE to add tag team titles to ECW. New belts have been ordered and are expected to be ready by the end of the month.
There was much opposition to this because many feel that the company already has enough championship belts. Rhodes pushed Vince McMahon hard, saying that ECW is too one-dimensional and shallow when it comes to talent. The tag team titles would give more purpose to different people on the show and allow more variety in booking.
step 1: take a common
step 2: turn common over
step 3: take sharpie
step 4: write name and relevant information on back of common
step 5: wait for ink to dry
step 6: enjoy your work
He saw me riffle shuffle right in front of him, rotating half the deck each time (which is the easiest way to do it). There's no way anyone could stack a deck like that. And this store is a very casual environment, with half the players there under fifteen years old. He was just being a dick.
Thanks for the advice you all gave me above. I think I may just concede to this guy next time he gets under my skin. He gets what he wants -- a win -- and I get what I want, a game experience that's fun and not a test of who annoys who.
you do realize that that's not the point he was trying to make. the point is, keeping you from being sloppy (which is what playing with a deck with the poles all screwed up comes down to) will keep you from getting in trouble down the road.
he may have been an ass, but he was totally in the right to ask you to fix your poles, casual or not. hell, i do it without asking at casual drafts.
But then he decides to play Magic pro-player mindgames with me, insisting that I have to make all my (unsleeved) cards face the same way.
that's not a mind game, so much as its making sure you're playing fair and not "marking your deck" by having your lands facing one way and your non-lands facing the other.
you play AoD, discarding Twisted Abomination and Call to the Netherworld. By the time you remove Call to the Netherworld to play it via madness, the Abomination is already in the graveyard. You can then go ahead & Call up the Abom. for free. all fair like.
yes, thank you for repeating exactly what i posted.
Play nicely, now. :/

so *shrug* who knows.
for every trade where i get foil sundering titans for $1.00 apiece, there's a trade where i give away ravagers for $2
