The Scorpion God... I'm in awe. Corrupted and sustained by Bolas's power, it no longer requires worship to act... but its immortality has been replaced with eternal resurrection. It's even had its name stripped away entirely by Bolas, it's truly an empty shell. Absolutely evil.

What is it with Magic and funky Cat creatures lately? Tarkir had Rakshasa (Cat Demons), Kaladesh had Bandar (Cat Monkeys), and now Amonkhet has Serpopards (Cat Snakes). Not to mention the return of Felidar (Cat Beasts) in Zendikar and Kaladesh. Is this building to some sort of Cat tribal thing, or is it just "to make weird fantasy creatures, just add Cat"?
I mean, I'm a fan of the Serpopard, it's just an odd trend.
(Also, I imagine that any cycling cards that have added effects when you cycle them are going to end up at least at uncommon - that's one of the relatively few things NWO actually does impact.)
I love the art on the cat, the artist definitely made it work. But... Serpopard? Really?
It's a real thing. Well, a mythological thing, but you know what I mean. I laughed out loud seeing the card and realizing they actually went that deep.
Interesting, does that mean their will be frequent library searching happening in Amonkhet?
I don't know if that's the case, more likely it's simply that this is a very appropriate setting for the card and they wanted to use the opportunity to reprint it. Honestly I couldn't possibly think of a more appropriate place for it, the flavor text really nails it.
On the side of Bolas I'm interested in seeing a new planeswalker who doesn't simply work for him like Tezzeret or Sarkhan, but who is a native of Amonkhet and has been absolutely loyal to Bolas for their whole life.
Huh, wasn't expecting an Aetherborn lord. There are a handful of strong and playable ones but I really don't think a tribal deck will work anywhere outside of casual games.
You can't cast Paradoxical Outcome from your graveyard after discarding/milling it.
Also, I just figured out that the spell's effect represents *you* exerting yourself and not untapping. Brilliant!
Also they aren't all common cards, the tokens all have the common rarity symbol regardless of the rarity of the actual card.

According to the Kaladesh art book, she's fifteen years old. >_>
