My one criticism of Selvala is that I wish her mana ability scaled with the largest power of all creatures on the battlefield, not just ones you control, to be consistent with her first ability and to be more interactive with the rest of the table. It would fit her seeming theme of "group hug" effects that give an extra benefit to you.
Even if Paliano does end up becoming a republic, that doesn't mean the cloak-and-dagger and backroom politics would come to an end. Far from it. Not to mention the existence of other political rivals outside of the city, such as Trest and the Empire of Kinnesta which we still know little to nothing about. There is plenty of material for more plot(ting) to develop on Fiora.
Volatile Chimera would be fun if it didn't rely on draft.
I don't know how to make that balanced at all, though. I start the game by exiling three copies of Progenitus I have with me, then have a super-bomb in my deck?
The only two Fioran goblin characters we already know are Grenzo and Daretti. A revenge story makes sense for Grenzo but doesn't really make sense for Daretti, so maybe we'll meet a new character?
Yeah, I wouldn't be surprised at all to see Kaya show up in our next trip to Ravnica. I'd even suspect that she's a native Ravnican, being noble-born with ghost-abilities, but she also said her mother taught her to be respectful, which doesn't sound likely among Orzhov nobility. But her being hired to take out the Obzedat is an excellent development from where we left off Teysa's story.
All that's confirmed is that Murder was, at some point in the past, in the Kaladesh card file. That guarantees absolutely nothing about the final set, especially with the card ultimately being reprinted in Eldritch Moon. It could be printed again in the next set, since Eldritch Moon will eventually rotate out of Standard, but it makes it a bit less likely.
And regarding whether the Dragons timeline is meant to be an improvement over Khans: MaRo has mentioned a number of times on his blog that he, personally, considers the Tarkir block to be one where the "villains" win.
The issue is that Maro loves over-simplified stories as they appeal to a larger audience, and as such improve his fanbase and claims that the story is popular like never before. Listen to him and everything that was remotely creative, like the Titan Suits etc are always considered a "mistake". He's probably the last official MTG source I'd consider worthy to explore deeper story issues.
Putting assumptions about character and motivations aside, my point wasn't regarding Mark Rosewater specifically but the intentions of the Tarkir story arc from WotC in general, using MaRo's comments as an example from one of the more prolific and easily accessible sources of information regarding Magic R&D. It was the only example that came to my mind easily, I do not recall off-hand any comments on this specific subject (whether the Dragonlords should be considered villainous or not) from the Creative team if there are any available.
There could be future plans to involve a Phyrexian presence on Kaladesh, but since we already know the set names and taglines for both sets in the block it doesn't seem likely that we'll be seeing anything like that this time around. Being the premiere of the setting, we'll probably just be seeing Kaladesh fleshed out in its own right before undergoing some sort of massive change like a Phyrexian invasion.
If true, Eternal Masters is certainly looking more and more suspect, yikes.

Interesting, and possibly powerful.
