im planning on playing Tempered Steel at states (if i can get my hands on 3 Mox Opals lol), and was wondering what people thought about Spare From Evil. It basically makes our creatures unblockable except by humans, and u can always side it out if u are playing a human deck or something.
this card is AWESOME for my G/W Infect deck. I was really hoping the GW land would put a +1/+1 counter on each creature and it actually does lol. It costs 4, but thats fine with me.
When something happens, maybe some kind of cost is paid or it becomes night (however that works) the mayor gets exiled and the werewolf is brought into play either from your deck or from outside the game perhaps. If it becomes day again then the mayor is returned from exile and the werewolf card is (probably) exiled.
I find it hard to believe that the werewolf card would be in your deck, because it would be rather awkward to have a card in your deck that you cant cast (having a couple in your opening hand wouldn't be much fun for example.)
Something to also consider is that perhaps the werewolf card would be packaged with the human card as the token or perhaps replacing a common slot.
It is a very interesting mechanic though, and makes me very excited to see Innistrad.
I'm not sure about Necropede vs Ichorclaw Myr yet, I'm going to have to test it a bit before I decide.
I put in Corrupted Resolve because its a REALLY good card in any blue infect deck, even if it's aggro.
And in my opinion Inkmoth Nexus is a definate 4 of. It gives you a creature they cant kill with board wipes (like pyroclasm and the like) and its a flyer.
Interesting list. Has the drawback of beast within been an issue? It seems like giving them a 3/3 blocker is bad when your only way around it is blighted agent.
I do like the abiltiy to play a turn 1 glistener elf and then represent countermagic for the rest of the game though.
i havent had a chance to test it yet, but id rather them have a 3/3 beast then gideon, or a titan, or jace. lol
I'm not expecting to top 8, since its my first huge tourney and I'm not running caw-blade, rug, or valakut, but I'm hoping a combination of luck/rogue deck/people being surprised will help me get at least a winning record, and with some breaks, who knows.
I'll give u guys a report when I get home and let you know how it went.
Guys archers cannot do anything to sworded birds. Not even worth siding in. Protection vs green is kind of harsh. Magnets are super effective, especially if you are not getting your mutinieis. I wonder why you are using journies if you have marks and wall of tanglecords. Wouldn't bolts better serve you to help you remove imeediate threats??
i have 4 bolts mainboard. And journeys are for valakut. eldrazi and rug/bug.
Running naya does give you the side board option of Tajuru Archers which are just beasts against those pesky birds
I've been debating whether or not to put Tajuru Archer in the sideboard or not. It does help against caw-blade for sure (and g/w aggro) but I dont have a lot of room in the board. My current sideboard is :
The wall of tanglecords are for U/B infect and they also work well against caw-blade, being able to block the hawks. I might replace the Tumble Magnets with Archers, I'm not 100% sure about that, but it seems the Magnet would be useful against decks other then caw-blade as well (like RUG).
Actually american has better survivability because we have acess to counter spells. Plus we can block sworded birds where naya can't (umara raptors). Beat face sto a point they have to day, jace or gideon, and leave 1 mana for pierce and you win. Naya cannot prevent the day, or the gideon.
I would say naya has the potential to be more explosive especially with the lead the stampedes, generally have no way to deal with gideon which is a problem and if you do not draw your burn birds will destroy you.
I'm running Naya at the 5k in Boston coming up because Tuktuk Scrapper in the mainboard makes caw-blade a fairly decent matchup and Naya has a very good card in Harabaz Druid which speeds up getting out scrapper and paladin and can protect you from mana leak etc midgame. It also helps you activate manlands.
back from my FNM, played my naya allies list and one big thing is that Phyrexian Crusader in B/U infect is a pretty big problem, so I'm going to sideboard 3 or 4 Tumble Magnet cause thats really the only way to deal with him, either that or contagion clasp.
Went 3-2, backed into top 8 but came away with 10 packs.. and what did I get out of those ten packs? NOTHING.
The counter is ok, the rest are meh.

I really like your idea of using Livewire Lash. I hadn't thought about using Gitaxian Probe but it's not a bad idea as well.
i maindecked the journeys so that game 1 vs rug/valakut is easier, but you are probably right, I'll do that and move the journeys to the board.

Also lead the stampede is a very good post-day response.
That noise you hear is Vengevine crying.
