Sacrifice a Permanent: search your library for a permanent card of the same type you sacrificed and put it in your hand. Then shuffle your library. Use this ability only once per turn.
MaRo, is always talking about how black likes to sacrifice what it has to get more power. Tutoring is a powerful effect and sacrificing is very much in black's flavor. I figure it's strong enough to see play in some format.
Engineered Explosives: this card is amazing, and with the easy mana bases of Modern it should see more play when it does. Look at what happens to other power artifacts from the original Mirrodin block when they catch on in Modern.
Erayo, Soratami Ascendant: cards from Kamigawa block are not in high supply, and this is one of the few good ones. If he catches on, he'll skyrocket.
Summoner's Trap: this card is borderline playable. If control looks really good, it'll add several dollars in value if someone can make a deck for it.
Lotus Cobra: good green creatures are good. Maybe someday we'll see a return of Cruel Ultimatum style decks.
Vesuva: We've seen this card shoot up to $30 when it find a deck in Modern. If it ever does again, then they are going to be in high demand despite being reprinted in FTV: Realms.
Logic Knot: not a future gainer, really, but a solid counterspell that control decks should play as a one-of right now. It shrinks goyfs and counters spells late game, so it deserves more consideration IMHO.
Tezzeret, Agent of Bolas: this is another planeswalker who is cheap right now. If Sarkhan Vol can get up there in price, surely a planeswalker who has good abilities can too.
Creakwood Liege: we know what happened to Wilt-leaf Liege, and the G/B one is the next playable IMHO. Putting 3/3 tokens into play each turn is pretty good not to mention it can pump every creature in Jund right away. Nice card and underrated, I believe.
It's upsetting that almost any deck running green MUST play this card. You won't get an argument that other cards aren't worth the price...... really, thoughtseize 70 beans.....on SCG no less, surely not worth it.
Birthing Pod plays green, and doesn't use Tarmogoyf. Tron plays green and doesn't play Tarmogoyf. Infect plays green and doesn't use Tarmogoyf. Bogle.dec plays green and doesn't use Tarmogoyf. Scapeshift plays green and doesn't use Tarmogoyf. In fact, I can't only think of two decks that play green and include Tarmogoyf in their lists and that's Zoo and Jund. Zoo sucks, so really, only one top tier deck plays Tarmogoyf so your complaint makes no sense to me at all.
These cards could be used in a new Modern combo deck thanks to some new Gatecrash cards. It might be worth picking them up now before they jump (if they haven't already).
The thing is, even though WOTC has said it would be a limited reprint. If the demand for this new product is far greater than anticipated, (like the huge influx of people coming back for RTR) I see no reason for them not to do another reprint.
I don't think they'll underestimate the popularity of this product. By next June, they will have learned the lessons of Commander and RTR. That said, it's too early to tell if their objective is to merely add more supply or to crush prices into the dust. We'll have to see once stores start getting their information about it.
UPDATE: The seller contacted me today. He was really cool about everything in the emails. He gave me $15 store credit for the $11 worth of lost cards. I would recomend this seller without hesitation in the future.
I ordered two Prismatic Omen from JPH Cards on Bidwicket in September. The cards were never received. When I contacted the seller, he basically said it was my fault for not requesting more expensive shipping options. He did not offer to refund my money nor replace the cards that did not arrive. I would not recomend this seller. Go with someone more reliable.
I often look at SCG to see where trends are. Their prices are way higher than most, but they are also the largest online seller, so I feel they are great barometer for what's going on out there. Consiquently, I'd like to point out what cards they are out of as of release day (today).
It used to be pretty rare that they'd sell out of a card before release. The only two that come to mind are Mox Opal and Snapcaster Mage. But now, they are out of eight cards as of this posting. That's incredible!
Agreed, certainly about Abrupt Decay. This has to be the most over hyped rare in quite some time!
I have to disagree. Abrupt Decay is one of the most amazing removal spells printed in a long time. See how Inquisition of Kozilek is still worth more than a regular uncommon should be? That's our example.
Maelstrom Pulse's main strength is that it's versatile. Nobody wants to pay to destroy target creature. Nor target artifact. Nor target enchantment.
They will pay it to hit 2 Wurmcoil Engine tokens or 24 Goblin Tokens.
I've heard rumors that people were turned away at some prereleases because the stores ran out of guild boxes. Or some stores made people sign up in advance because they knew they would run out, and if you weren't signed up you couldn't play. Anyone able to confirm this?
Just received an order from SCG today. Someone put a staple right through the cards and toploader! I called up their customer service, and apparently they're going with some new mailing service. Anyway, the guy I talked to said they normally wouldn't do anything about this, but decided to resend me the same cards in a different package anyway. So, the legendary SCG customer service comes through again!
I've attached the images of what happened. Maybe someone here can explain it.
Got my replacement cards! They came in a case this time so staples couldn't penetrate it. Thanks SCG

I bought a playset of each just in case.

Supreme Verdict: this is the go to wrath effect from now on. I know it doesn't rotate for a long time, but this is a future star.
Beast Within: being able to kill any permanent at instant speed with a splashable spell is very rare and very good in this game.
Gut Shot: We know what this thing did in standard, and we know how valuable it got. Not that it's OOP, it can gain again if the meta shifts enough.
Loxodon Smiter: kinda the same as Supreme Verdice, but this card is Legacy playable if Maverick ever needs to land a beater.
Blightsteel Colossus: we know what happens to big, colorless fatties like Kozilek, Butcher of Truth. BSC is like an eldrazi IMHO.
Engineered Explosives: this card is amazing, and with the easy mana bases of Modern it should see more play when it does. Look at what happens to other power artifacts from the original Mirrodin block when they catch on in Modern.

Summoner's Trap: this card is borderline playable. If control looks really good, it'll add several dollars in value if someone can make a deck for it.
Horizon Canopy: This card is good. I'm surprised it doesn't see more play. Look at other lands form Time Spiral block that have caught on like Urborg, Tomb of Yawgmoth, Grove of the Burnwillows, and Academy Ruins. This card could double in price if it becomes a staple.
Dramatic Entrance: drop a Progenitus or Emrakul on turn 3 or 4? Sounds good to me!

Short term is within the next three months, medium term is within the next 18 months, and long term is within the next five years.
