If you’re going to try Emmara, I would go heavy Convoke and/or some Battecry effect. Chord of Calling into Archangel of Thune seems good. As does Battlecry with a ton of tokens. I’ve considered trying this, but don’t quite have the cards yet.

Primer looks good! Post some results, when you have them. I played this deck back in standard and may pick it up again.

How do we fight Terminus, and is it worth a SB slot for Warping Wail?

It gives us an option, for sure, but I’m not sure that as an Aggro deck it’s an effect we want. We need to either play threats or gain life to boost our current threats, and this does neither until later in the game. I’m going to test it as a 2-of, and report my findings. Overall, this set didn’t do much for us directly but gave us some new ideas to try.

There is a new enchantment that when you gain life, allows you to pay 2 and draw a card. Not sure that’s the kinda thing we need, though.

I wasn’t clear what you were trying to say, but as long as you’ve pumped h8m before declaring the attack, the mentor ability will trigger. His “actual” power is irrelevant. It’s about his power at the time he attacks.

I think it still may be against the rules to discuss spoilers, but yes. GRN has me tempted to try Wg again. I still don’t like ascendant with fetches, but maybe going more tokens and convoking an Archangel into play with Chord of Calling.

I have a feeling I’ll be revisiting a Wg version of the sisters soon...

I’ve never liked Serra Ascendant in decks with Shocks and Fetches. I used him in my CoCo Sisters deck, and was RARELY able to get to 30 without my opponent playing a bajillion creatures, or not interacting with mine

Lately the thread has been rather devoid of event reports. I’d LOVE to see more breakdowns from you guys, especially those running unique deck builds. Even if it’s Modern Monday or FNM, every little bit of info helps.

With the rise of UW control, i would definitely consider main decking the Anguished Unmaking's and upping the count to 2. Could also help in pesky matchups like KCI, Hardened Affinity, Ad Nauseum, and other troublesome permanents.

I like the list, and look forward to hearing about your success with the deck in the future. Shalai is a card I’ve been considering myself. One question, though: why the squadron hawks? They’re normally played in lists with Martyr. Was it just as an evasive and recurring beater?
