    yay! Card!

Hanyway. It may not be a hard counter, but it still has it's uses.

on Blue: Jeezum. I may not like how it's much harder for me to play a MonoU deck like I used to, but it's still doable. Shackles leaving won't kill Blue. Yes, it's not as strong by itself anymore. It wasn't supposed to! Blue is the little caster wuss behind the BEEG STRONG FIGHTERS. The one that looks totally harmless and then, BLAMMO, a metaphorical Maximized Fireball to the face.

er. I'm mixing games here. Sorry. You know what I mean.

    Thanks for the card.

I would love it if all of the rumors got a poll of 'Real/Fake/Maybe Fake/Maybe Real/ 50% on both sides'.

    Like a 100% Real, more-than-50% real, 50%real/fake, more-than-50% fake, and 100% fake.

That way, the single line posts of OMG fake/real could be neutered. I hope.

I agree with the idea of more severe punishments (especially with the spam warning over just bah-leetion of the post).

    Quote from Chimpanzee »
Since I don't want to read 15 pages I'll assume that it has been pointed out multiple times that the hyppie is quite visibly either pasted or miss-cut. If it is pasted then it is of course fake since Wizard's has access to the real card and has no reason not to use it. If it is miss-cut wouldn't you think that they would prefer to use flawless examples of each card rather than settle for one with a visible defect? In advertising, companies tend to want to use visually perfect examples of their product.

Because there is a chance that this is an unfinished mockup. Why be perfect, if it's not done?

Possibly something Marketing has thrown together to show what they want the actual page-designers what they want.

I think it's real, mostly because of the Hell's Caretaker art. *shrug*.

On the grapes: They might be seeded. Seeded grapes are BIG. and tasty.

    On the Hyppie's extra corner: I don't know about you, but I've pasted things on that badly. -_-;;

All I really want to see is Jester's Cap's art. It looks spifftastic.

I used to go to FNM and trade (well, my brother traded, I played and managed to get free uncoms and commons, being a girl. and squeaky.), and I'd go to the PR.

Now, I doubt I'll be able to go to a Prerelease OR FNM until I get a Car Of My Very Own or a U-Card (or something like that. about 15$ for unlimited free busrides).

I have the money for about a pack or two a month as well as at least two FNMs.

Where I live, I have a store that sells below price (2.50$ a pack. rawk on. :D), so that isn't really the problem. The problem is that I have no transportation Frown

I liked the Brother's War and the books that went with it :/ I can't remember thier names. I think those are the Urza Block ones...yeah.

I also like the Colors of Magic anthology.

I'd like the Kamigawa books more if Toshi wasn't so...twinky. also: needs more moonfolk XD.

I didn't like the ONS and ODY books because of the big 'wtf' factor that kicked in in the end. I did, however, like the Dementia summoners. they were cool. The rest was a big wtf. Pretty much anyone that had anything to do with the Cabal was cool. Patriarch was awesomea.

    I like you, Stax. Grin

anyway. I agree with all of Stax's points too. (****ing genius! I knew it!)

I shouldn't even have to post on this thread.

However, if one is accused of being gay, there is a long, drawn out investigation to prove one's 'gayness'. This so, y'know, all them dodgers can't get out by just claiming it.

I never did get the whole DADT thing. just doesn't make sense.

I like Adamaro, if only for the *PNNNWWEEEWWWW* Eye lasers. Yes, that was the sound of a laser.

Kashi-Tribe L33t look neato. So does Fiddlehead Kami, even if he's a meh card. Iizuka is cool.

Death of a Thousand Stings is awesome. I don't care how crappy the card is, I must have a Foily one. mmm. Foily.

What's up with Twincast's person? Blue bikinithingie and wacky facepaint? what? That's not blue's people. :p Blue needs more moonfolk, because they're my favorite-est blue race ever. XD

I like the netsukes too. I thought netsukes were something else, not wee statues. :/

and Definately agree with Caranthir on most of his counts (except Adamaro. PNNNWWEWWW.)

    Stats & Facts

Name - Chisei of the Rippled Mirror
Titles - Captain of the Archers
    Race - Soratami
    Age - early-middle aged.
    Height - Tall. 6'3"
    Weight - er. Lean build.
Appearance - Chisei looks like joe Soratami, but a twitch off. He has the silly hair and the strange face markings. However, his facemarks are a deep earthy brown, and he has a slight sun-burned pinkness to his very white skin, and his hair is strikingly simple, for a moonfolk. Chisei has a slightly upturned nose, and a winning, honest smile, furthering this slight sense of non-moonfolkness. He is also athletic, and actually pretty tough underneath his lily-white skin, as an archer.
Apparel - His clothes are made of much simpler, rougher material than the usual for moonfolk, like wool and cotton, with only his innermost robe still being the normal silk. they're still the complex blue shades and patterns seen Soratami nobles. He has two golden hairpins in his hair, and carries the trademark Moonfolk mirror, which is about compact-sized and actually very rippled, like the windows in an old house. He also wears what appears to be a leather gardening apron. He has plain blue slippers, as to be expected.
Background - Chisei is an outcast, thrown out of Oboro not for any real reason, but because Meloku, his cousin-once-removed-on-his-mother's-side-we-think, planned to use him as a tool in order to have an earthbound force. Of course, Chisei blundered into Jukai, and into Orochi territory. Chisei would do that. Instead of being Killed on Sight, as he would have under normal circumstances, Chisei came upon an Orochi village under heavy attack by Kami. Completely going against all that is moonfolk-y, Chisei helped save the village, and tended to the wounded. The Orochi, noticing not only this, but also his skill with Green magic and the way he could command the less powerful kami, decided to only take him captive. He has since gained their trust (mostly by converting thier regular bows to much better Spirit ones), and is a valued, if strange, member of their village.
Personality- Chisei is a very strange moonfolk. he's downright flakey, and can come off as being a bit stupid and naieve. However, this conceals his skill at lying (no-one expects the flakey one!) and his know-how of poisons and such, from growing up as a Soratami noble. He is not above drugging to get what he wants, but he's not malicious. It's more like he doesn't know that drugging someone is against the rules. He is very loyal and determined, downright singleminded at times. Chisei is dependable, in spite of his foppishness, and is a very caring, nuturing individual. He can't stomach lies (and this was one of the reasons for him being thrown out of Oboro) or cruelty.
Affiliations - Moonfolk, Meloku, the Orochi, his lil' Bonsai tree.
    Job - Archer. Kami-speaker, commander.
Allies - Orochi, Meloku (in a sense).
Enemies - the rest of the moonfolk, the enemies of the Moonfolk, and the enemies of the Orochi. some Orochi severely dislike him, but see his usefulness.
    Accomplishments -
-Came up with the Spirit bow, a bow that is possessed by a minor kami, usually one of trees and such. It's a lot stronger than a normal bow, and has no need for arrows, as it uses it's spirit objects (all Spirit Bows have arrow spirit-objects) as its ammunition.
    -Made friends with the Orochi.
    -Is not dead.

    Natural Abilities
Chisei is a natural at, um, archery. Chisei is also skilled at communication with the kami, and regularly does so. he has little skill with Soratami-styled magic, but is gaining skill in the Orochi's shamanistic ones. Is good with small children and small animals.

    Skills
    -Archery liek whoa.
-Political Skill, so long as he doesn't have to keep a secret.
-Kami like him. maybe because he's a flake.

    Spells
Art- Soratami (minor), Orochi spirit (minor).
-Cloudwalking. Chisei can't maintain the focus for it for long, though, and tends to glide more than fly.
-Scry. The best Soratami spell Chisei can do, he uses his mirror to see in far-away places. Mostly used for aiming his bow.
-Kami-talk. With much handwaving, Chisei can understand kami. he doesn't get a direct, proper translation, instead getting only the gist of the conversations.
-Tree-speaking. Chisei can more easily understand Kami of Trees and Wooden Stuff, getting the whole conversation from them.
-Weather control. he can control a cloud about the size of a coconut. that's it. just a coconut-sized cloud.

    Armor
Non-Magical- A leather gardening apron. Leather Gardening gloves.

    Weapons
Magical- Spirit Bow. This bow is taller than Chisei (almost 7', from tip to tip), and is laquered bright RED and BLACK. It has no string, and has a blue aura. There are three wee lil' arrow-shaped spirit objects floating around it. When the user pulls back his/her arm as if about to shoot, an arrow pifs into the proper arrow-size needed, and the bow shoots itself. All it needs from the user, in fact, is a target. It can float as well. Chisei's bow is freakishly powerful for a Spirit Bow, and can easily punch through a good inch of steel.

    Non-Weapon Items - Accessories
    Magical-
-His Mirror. It's his focus for his spells.
-His hairpins are enchanted with a small unlocking spell. nothing serious.
    Non-Magical-
-Bonsai tools. small clippers, wire, an extra pot, a teent lil' watering pot. stuff like that.

Also: That Sekki dude is silly. For some reason, I want to play him and smack him with my own giant ass Snake-powaa'd Fireball, just so I can have a MEEEEELION tokens.

because, well, a MEEEEELION tokens are fun. :D. Mostly because No-one that I play with uses Echoing Truth.

That, and he's got the same wacky thing that the other ones had back in ONS, like Marek sez, I think.

    man, Sok is pretty.

also: I actually kinda like that 2/3 defender. even if he doesn't have flying. Frown

Cowed by Wisdom seems pretty high up on the Awesomea Scale, though. Freed from the Real is cool, but I'm not much of a blue player. the Oboro Envoy's ability is not very blue-feeling, but whatever.

If you want examples of Plant people, in Breath of Fire 2, there was a Plant-dude called Spar. he was the second-best mage, with a crapload of HP/MP, and alot of support spells.

I can't find the Latin term for moth, but papilio is butterfly... hanyway, on the Monk/bard: how are you outfitting the abilities for the classes?

    if bard, a snake-dude? maybe a Monk could be a golem-dude (just because, y'know, golems = cool.).
