Hey gang, I'm pretty new to playing online, but I just won an 8-4 limited tournament, and well, I'm looking to unload 2 of this packs. Non of the bots I've been trading singles to seem to be biting. Is there a specific type of bot for packs I should be going to?
So, naturally the first thing that will pop out is the plethora of planeswalkers. It's really my favorite thing about the deck. I love all of the tools that these walkers bring into the game, and with their varied CC's they will ramp into eachother very nicely. I went with Primal Hunter instead of Relentless for Garruk because of his card drawing engine. That, plus the fact that the deck doesn't run too many creatures, so I don't see the flipside of relentless's abilities to be all that useful.
The creature choices are you standard Jund fare. Vampire nighthawk is incredible, Thrag and Huntmaster are staples, and Olivia is incredible late-game.
The spells are efficient removal. They are varied enough to deal with any situation and quickly.
This deck has me drooling in anticipation. I can't wait to play it competitively.
A couple of reasons. Given how many cards in my grave already have flashback, I don't see the need for it. Also, I don't want to bog the deck down with too many creatures.
Hey y'all. I've been trying to find a way abuse Guttersnipe ever since if first got spoiled. I think there's a solid burn/cantrip deck out there that can be based on combo-ing guttersnipe and goblin electromaner for some super cheap spells with flashback and direct damage. This is what I have slapped together
Ideally the deck plays like this:
T1 - Resolve Delver of maybe a pillar
T2 - Electromancer
T3 - Guttersnipe
T4 - Start to "go off", with think twice now super cheap on both ends, faithless looting flashing for cheap, and Searing spear now 5 damage for R. The damage can rack up really quick, especially if the Delver has been swinging the first couple of turns.
There are a couple of spells in there that are still question marks Mizzium skin is a great way to protect my creatures from removal, which will definitely be needed. Snipe has a huge target on his back. Plus, that 1cc is really pretty.
I'm still on the fence about Desperate Ravings and Rewind, although with the number of instants in the deck, I think rewind will be incredibly useful.
Any thoughts on this deck? When things stack up right it can be super powerful, and I there is such a nice toolkit of removal here that I think it can be competitive.
I don't think this deck needs blue. I think that spreads you too thin, and I think the toolkit is diverse enough in G/W Once you get Trostani Churning, the deck pretty much takes care of itself.
Solid Call on killing the walls. What I found in playtest was that this deck really needs to hit land and ramp as quick as possible. The quicker we get to 4 mana the better. I updated a little bit with some more land and a couple tweaks to get this:
I've been messing around a bit with trying to put together a GW centered lifegain deck. I've basically ignored most Seles's early populate mechanics in favor of things that will ramp me quicker, but there are a couple targets for Trostani to exploit with garruk, thragtusk, and Grove. Win con is eventual giant fatties (in Serra Avatar, Garruk's ultimate, or Grove), or chalice of death beatdown.
I would love to hear thoughts, I feel like this deck could be pretty viable, as the lifegain engine is pretty damn efficient (assuming we can hit a Trostani). I'm thinking a might need four in order to make Trost a certianty.
I feel like Guttersnipe definitely has a place in this deck. With all of the spells flying around, you'll have a lot fuel for him to ping.
I also think that there's room for more miraclicious cards like terminus or temporal mastery.
I'm currently trying to put together a similar build to this and actually ended up just dropping white altogether as I felt it didn't bring enough to the table.
I know this isn't quite USA, but it seems similar enough to yours and I want to open up this conversation. I definitely have considered White in here, but frankly it doesn't seem worth it.
The big thing here is this deck is obviously Sorcery/Instant heavy, and we're getting a lot of cards that reward us for that. Guttersnipe and Talrand like spells a lot. The guildmage allows for twincasting which can be huge (twincast mastery yes please).
The downside is that the deck feels a little... slow. The spellset is much slower than current delver, but current delver is kinda durdley. A lot of the spells don't... do much. This new spellset, while much slower, is infinitely more veratile.
Thanks for the help.
I've thrown a deck together that I'm SUPER happy with in playtesting. It's sort-of a Jund Superfriends sort of build.

3 Bonfire of the Damned
4 Dreadbore
4 Farseek

Also, needs worldspire wurm. The earliest we can get a wurm into play is boneyard wurm but we need a way for that to not die.:-/
Also, beast tracker for the wurms. Wut.

I watch American Idol.
And I enjoy it.
I'm totally in love with Muse. They're unvelievable.
I've started posting on News again... not sure why I started now, but whatever.
Nothing to report here. I'm just ****ing bored as hell right now.
I might just go out and drive around in circles...
