Playing Ultimate Friday for the UW-Madison College B Team, normally consist of track/indoor work-out 3 times a week. Along with that I try to lift regularly on the days without practice.

As for cardio, I think it really helps if you have a bud with you to do the stuff. Otherwise yeah, it can get pretty boring running for 30mins on a treadmill.

Do both things suggested: Fake it until you make it and change your pattern of attribution.

For the faking it department, I suggest reading Definitive book of body language. The book talks about several body language gestures where an confident dominant human would use, as well as insecure humans would use. Honestly, Self confidence is really an attribution of a dominant person (ie, in control). And really, girls aren't looking for self confidence in a guy more so a dominant male that she can rely on.

Well, this clan and its spirit and our hilarious memories won't disappear or be forgotten by us, so I don't think I'll ever feel like it's disintegrated.

Heyo, don't know if you guys still remember me :D.

Life's been busy this semester. My daily time has been taken up between writing papers, taking tests, and working part-time so I haven't been able to come online too much, hope everyone's still doing well and I'll do a full report the next time I get.

Hope everyone is still doing well and kicking! Grin

PS- Sorry to hear about your fiance, my condolences.

Well, hi guys, how have you all been doing? Smile
Sorry for the lack of posting for the past few months but I guess MTGsal just doesn't have the attraction to me like before. I've been playing a lot of Dofus as well as ultimate frisbee, all while juggling school and work. I'll try to post more often here :D.

Did you happen to play in 1.5 whenever it was legal in goblins? It was a freaking house.

Sadly no, but I guess it's nice to hear about it from first hand experience :p.

Sha: What it irritates me the most is players that won't recognize that Hulk Flash, while isn't unbeatable, warps the format into a very tight construction unhealthy format. It befuddles me.

Are you people so oblivious to what everyone else is saying? No one is stating that the top eight will consist of 99% Hulk Flash. It is an amazing deck that can get hated out. What we are stating is that it forms an incredibly unhealthy format because it forces the decks into a very tight deck construction of:

    1. Running Blue
    2. Running Black
    3. Has turn 1 kill.

There will always be an exception to that in the top8, much like how a hulksmash deck manage to win the D2D through, the most part, avoid goblins. But look at the link Spatula and I have provides (albeit that they are the same link) and see that the majority of those that have top8-ed since the appearance of Hulk flash has been either Hulk flash or those deck that fits the description that I listed on top.

Continuing to fail to believe that maybe some of us recognize that Hulk flash isn't the omgerz-world-is-falling-apart will get this argument no where.

Gobs I could see running skullclamp but it would dilute the goblin concentration of the deck, so that's still debatable. As for threshold, I really don't see them running it considering the low number of creature that would it could target.

So, a deck top-8-ing 3 times is where we've set the bar for banning now? How has Goblins survived so long?

SpatulaOfTheAges pretty much expresses what I wanted to say in a much concise form. No deck is so so broken that it is unbeatable, you just gotta put so much hate into one deck that would be able to handle it. What we've been seeing a lot in the GPT is that the majority of those that aren't Flash consist of: Blue, or Black, or with a turn 1 kill. It really isn't comparable to Goblin's 'dominance' of the format, Boop.

Ironic - The GPTs have flash as 1 and 2 ofs in t8 - and Dragonstorm is more popular in standard. How is this backing up flash being a metagame wrecking monster? (note: I'm not counting t2 of 8 players or t3 of 9 :/)

    EDIT:
On a side note, wow, i would never have expected to see so much belcher. O_o

And you win the jackass prize :/
Its recall the same hype was running around the forums when you all thought jitte was going to be banned. Did you all know what you were doing then? Hypotheticals are one thing, and we can talk all we want, but the point remains: while hulk flash is a GOOD combo deck, it is by NO MEANS unbeatable or even that meta-warping that any part of the combo needs to be banned. So quit complaining.

    1. There's no t2 of 8 players.
    2. Read the thread and see that majority of the t8 consisted of the following: Play blue or Play black or have turn1 win. The thread wasn't really all that updated either, there has been more GPT with all the same results after May 7th.
3, No one is calling it unbeatable, rather, it is subjecting the metagame to a far more strict design. A hindrance that forces you to: Play Blue or Black or have turn 1 wins.

Second off, hulk flash has currently done NOTHING TO LEGACY. Don't make claims on its effects on the format until you have numbers outside of mws to back you up.
Yoink. On a side-note, it is also missing the GPT result of MN with 3Flash T8ing. But GPT aren't real tournaments I guess.

If they don't ban flash in the upcomming date, and instead ban protean hulk, expect me to be working on a Flash+Gamekeeper style deck. That shiz is nasty.

Sha: are you building TES by any chance? :p

Under a 'competitive format', land-destruction is really a futile attempt. This format has exceptional amount of mana-accelerates. From goblin's goblin lackey and Aether vial to the amazingly low mana curve of Threshold to mana-providing spell such as the iconic Lion's eye diamond, there is just too many damn accelerators out there to limit. You can't purely devote so many spots to Land destruction because of these other form of mana accelerator. What you probably want to be looking at is resource denial, a broader spectrum of denials. Hand destruction for one will pair greatly with it, back it up along with a speedy clock (Red death is one example) or sweepers (Pox) could benefit the strategy. Of course, depending on what you are looking for, Stax could also be another option.

    Good luck with it.
