That role does sit awkwardly with the rest of the setup.
hansanator - Gallade - Double voter after being targeted + self-redirector [double triggers the double vote?]
Arcadic - Ampharos - Vanilla town [non-interactive]
Iso - Snorlax - One-shot cop [investigates the cop]
Jay13x - Excadrill - Bodyguard unaffected by others' abilities [protects the bodyguard]
KoolKoal - Volcarona - Vanilla town [non-interactive]
Wheat_Grinder - Weavile - One-shot vig that makes moves cost additional PP [non-interactive]
Void - Gyarados - Godfather [non-interactive]
Gerrard's Mom - Garchomp - 50% bulletproof [non-interactive]
kaburi - Mismagius - One-shot wipe all PP from another player's moves [basically a roleblock]
BlackVise - Scolipede - Move always has priority, can steal someone's move and use it on them
rianalnn - Tyranitar - One-shot perma-tracker [if it 'steals', will track the tracker doing nothing. Otherwise might track tracker tracking]
Teia Rabishu - Sceptile - Vanilla town [non-interactive]
If it steals, it seems pretty terrible. If it just interrupts (doesn't use up the target's PP), it does bolster the cop & the tracker.
You claimed to be able to steal their move, which seems to imply that you block them from using it, and then use it yourself. It's not "just" a redirector since it would mean that you get the cop/tracker/etc results instead of the actual user (though you'd just be turning them back on their users anyway rather than picking another target, further reducing pro-town utility).
Ah I see your point. I've not had a hit with it, having only targeted Iso during the first Night, so I don't know if I actually block them from using it. 'Steal' was the explanation I was given in my role PM, blocking wasn't mentioned at all, so I'm working under the assumption that it's redirection rather than outright blocking.
Why not clarify with the mod rather than guess?
Is 'to get info' the only reason you targeted Iso?
Where? All I've found is you calling Jay's suspicion of Void's claim 'setup speculation' (536), which is obviously pointing out his incorrect terminology. Jay on the other hand picked up on his incorrect terminology but didn't realize the significance of it, or at least didn't mention it (586).
The more I look at it, that 'Eh, setup speculation' comment seems like a subtle attempt at trying to cover your scumbuddies false claim.
Jay doesn't differentiate between abilities & moves in the post you link, & I don't think he's making any difference there. Immediately after that I post this;
Eh, setup speculation. I can't say I've seen a game like this. Maybe Islander Mafia, I'd have to dig it up. There are a lot of games in this sub I haven't read, though.
Void, do you have an ability in addition to your moves?
You read the Eh line, you didn't see the question directed at Void?
Single shot, 1pp. I was going to track Iso, but then Wheat threatened to kill him. I thought of tracking Wheat, but felt that if he was legit, he might draw the NK, or if there was a 'real' vig, he might still end up dead. So I went with Teia, based on basically the same reason I early-wagoned her in MM6 – she's tough to get a read on, & a formidable player.
My move is Pursuit, which is single shot but lets me track a player over consecutive nights as long as they don't die. N1 I chose Teia. I'll claim her targets if she wants me to.
For some reason I thought KK was at L-2, I didn't mean to end the Day then. Anyway, I suppose I can listen to him now that he's dead, nobody followed through on his pariniod read in MM6
vote ria
If you were actually listening to him you'd see he doubted his read at the end of the day & wouldn't just be plowing into me at lynch or lose.
Right now, rian, but I also haven't reread the game since Void was revealed. Mostly for stuff already said, but his reread rubbed me the wrong way as well. He only brought up points against 3 people in his entire reread and only against me, kaburi, and BV, the three players it would be easiest to get lynched. He also ignored points that could make these players not scum, such as how I was the first to call BV scum by a wide margin, yet I'm 100% scum in his opinion.
I don't follow why you would get town points on an unproven BV, even if you had taken a serious pass at him at some point – but you didn't. I wasn't trying to PBPA the game, it was after midnight & I didn't bother with weak tells unless it was something consistent (like BV's 'I don't like naked votes' & then repeatedly naked voting).
He also does stuff like this a few times: "BV calls KK's push on him OMGUS. This reads like some of the weakest scumbuddy distancing ever. +s" <-Blatantly choosing to interpret something as the scummiest possible motive when there other possible reasons, but he doesn't bring up anything that could get in the way of his future cases.
What is the town motivation in BV trying to present his early Day 1 push on you as something more than it was, & colour your vote as a result of that push, rather than the reasons you gave (& BV ignored, which you prodded him about & he ignored)? This is BV being hella scummy, & the context of my comment is speculation based on you flipping scum.
Iso suddenly declared Void town after one of his large quote-wall posts. I didn't really see why, but Iso's supposedly better than me at reading Void, so I kept it in mind. Then Void started pushing on the people I thought were scum, so I cemented him as town in my mind.
I don't follow your logic here. If I saw posts that interacted with things I already had in my notes, I followed up on it. If I saw things that were questionable behaviors, I noted it. If I saw a strong town behavior, I noted it. If Teia or G_M or Jay posted "plenty of sketchy moments", I didn't see them, & this just seems like you're blanketing my re-read as suspect without analyzing the content, ending with you characterizing my scumspects as easy targets;
That's what you say. I say I think you're lying. There are plenty of questionable moves done by everyone if you're looking BECAUSE NO ONE IS PERFECT (if you continue to plead ignorance of this fact, I'll be happy to find examples, except for Teia, because I already had examples of her acting scummy when I cased her), but you ignore any of that when it comes to the people you want to say are town.
Ok. I still disagree with your case on Teia, & I had another reason to bide my time with her anyway. As for everyone else, Moms nailed Void, Wheat I discussed why I wasn't looking at him, & I would be amused to see what you would pull up on Jay. You say I ignore things, bring them up – you should be doing this anyway.
I was only mentioning myself as one of your scumspects as of your reread, at which time I was the popular wagon. Why are you ignoring everything else in my posts to zero in on this one phrase and add meaning to it that wasn't in the original post? I wouldn't mind this over-reaction if you were actually responding to any of my main points, but that you chose focus on this rather than my actual arguments is more scumminess added to your record.
That line is tacked on to the end of a paragraph trying to support the idea that my reads were all easy targets, rather than specifically addressing kaburi's questioning why he was an easy target. There is no reason to include yourself on that list. I was on you well before my re-read, well before you were an "easy target". To toss your name in there is misleading & puts false weight to your statement that my reads were only easy targets. Your wagon is almost certainly a result of me pushing on you.
I'm not going to lynch a dude just because he showed confirmation bias. If there is more to this case, let me know before I start to look back (hopefully Sunday).
There's also everything I was on him about yesterDay. He active lurked all of day 1,
I'm a slow starter, & you know this. In MM6 (where I was town, & you were scum), you tried to use this same thing as a reason I was suspect, despite also acknowledging that I was equally low-content in CCMVI (where I was town). You know better, yet you keep pressing this as something valid. Why do Void & BV get the meta handwave, but this stays on your list against me?
The post where I vote Void makes it clear I've read the case against Void, & I add something that hadn't been mentioned. Also at that moment you & Void had a counterwagon on Moms going, why wouldn't I have joined that? This is also the first post of mine that you said you couldn't ken, & now you're trying to reduced it to a bandwagon vote.
and hopped on my wagon with Wheat the instant Void claimed but he'd declined to comment on me at any prior point.
I don't know why the timing is significant. Your defense of a terrible push on Teia put me over the edge, & why are you sweeping this post under the rug? I sure seem to have a comment or two on you there, poking at your meta defense of Void. I had been interacting with you constantly while Void stalled, & I would be amazed if anyone took this "declined to comment" line seriously.
Anyway, so far we've got two people at L-2, with a rapidly approaching deadline. For those of you who haven't voted: Which do you think is the better lynch, and why? Alternatively, if you think another player is the best lynch candidate, who would that be and why?
KK & BV are still my go-to picks. KK's comment just now about how BV is always scummy is just more 'Void is bad at arguing', & he sees BV hunting scum & not just wagoning, when BV has just been griefed for yet again naked voting. I'm ready to be vindicated by KK's flip.
Awesome summer-preview day, & I spent almost the whole thing outside being young & free. Yay.
On the flipside, O-MAN! & I can now cane Contra – we use the 30-man code, O-MAN uses ~45 dudes (he steals my guys once he runs out. The factory zone with the timed spike mashers is his personal nemesis); I tend to die only when the controller says I'm running at an angle, not ducking. . . I know, I know, the controller excuse I only realize now how goddamn much I love getting in a boss's face & pounding that B-button rapid-fire style until it turns into fireworks. I mean, I remembered it being fun of course, but as a self-aware adult I find this touches something primal within my being. . .
Also, Battletoads' vehicle levels still eat donkeyloaf.

And his reread is not only confirmation bias, it also includes buddying and ridiculous leaps of logic to portray the message he wanted. Plus he still hasn't responded to either of the specific points I brought up, while continuing to claim I'm not bringing up anything specific.
I will respond to this tomorrow when I'm not just passing by.
Teia, is that unlikely vote count the all-town wagon on Hans? Dude seriously ruined Day 1 reads with his play, I think he had his own agenda & put himself in a place he had no skill to get out of.

Could you phone it in a little harder, BV? I even respond to a question you asked when I answered that.
I agree with Moms first.

Peace!

This is just a gut call. You've already said you don't believe me, but I followed up on my notes & those are the things that stuck out to me.
Can you see the problem here yet?
