ANYway. Jubel Ale, while seasonal, is my happiest hoppy memory. Many happy Portland Oregon winter nights spent in the grip of loud music + Jubel.
While I usually prefer darker, heavier beers, nowadays, I am embarrassed to say, I am entirely sold on Corona with a lime stuck in it. It's just to darn hot to drink anything heavier, as I learned last Christmas - @_@ followed quickly by x_X
You can post all the links you want, Anne, but it doesn't change the fact that Armageddon is still in flavour for :symw:, as are all symmetrical mass destruction spells. Just because they'll never reprint Balance for it's brokenness doesn't mean it doesn't belong in :symw:... because it does. + so does Armageddon. So nya + such. Waitaminute - Desolation Angel's WHITE kicker blows up land. You ARE Annorax @_@!!1
Be gentle - we've had the url forever, we're only just getting around to doing something with the space. Slow, slow.
Oh, + bel - I've had work as a prep cook, gutting chicken + calamari, + I work in a deli now... not going to start eating beast again this trip on the circle. I will admit sampling sushi + always ordering the octopus at fancier restaurants, though. + to be sure, I'll be the first making lizard tail jerky when the meteorite hits.
With Alex + AI in @ aplications for spots 11 + 12, I better jump in for 13! I want to put something green about the Called in my sig... I think I add a bit of wackiness to the Clan, + certainly enjoy interacting with all the members, for good or bad ^_^. I, too, am an artist, + have often considered offering to lend a hand to BD with the Clansite - please feel free to check out www.ninjakitty.org for an idea of the lazy webwork I've done. I'm a lurker to be sure, but I get the urge to jump out + +postcount+ sometimes, usually in response to someone posting the Armageddon isn't in :symw:'s Pie ... otherwise, I might drop by to visit you - I like to travel, + it's been a long year sitting on my bottom in Oz, + r_e has already agreed to meet me for a beer in BC *yay*
I am an ecofreak ¡:symg:! I'm more or less vegetarian, happily married to a firey Australian photographer, + we live beside the ocean... for now. Oh, + I shave with a travel Braun that needs new blades.
:symg::symg::symg: Gaea's Blessing being the epitome of what I like about the colour, recursion is good clean fun... + TRAMPLE is good messy fun. I could never break up my Oath deck - is just a support colour!!
Awful, just awful. Both you guys get a ..although it's nice to see you out of hiding, Annorax. Foily depreciation is such a lame reason to not introduce Armageddon to a new generation of T2 players. As for the WW is Dead = No Need For 'geddon - I will give you Just One Guess where you can stick such flawed logic.
Another card people always point out as a reason why white isn’t as good any more is Armageddon. I agree that rotating out Armageddon had a huge impact on the Magic, but that’s exactly why we did it. We felt that the threat of Armageddon was preventing players from building non-blue decks that needed to have a lot of land in play. If you couldn’t counter a ‘Geddon, then you just couldn’t play a competitive deck that relied on expensive spells. So we took ‘Geddon out of Seventh Edition, hoping this would lead to the dawn of a new day where the coast was clear for fatty decks, non-blue control decks, and maybe even some funky combo decks that no one had even thought of before.
Our plan was foiled (no pun intended) by those annoying blue mages. Blue decks of all shapes and sizes exclaimed, “I can tap out and no one can blow up all my lands?! Well then I’m invincible!” We didn’t realize quite how strong this effect was or we would have started lowering the power level of blue cards once we knew we were going to take out Armageddon. In addition, the Invasion block’s multi-color theme is inherently friendly to slow decks (especially blue decks) because the aggro-weenie strategies that are the natural enemy of blue decks don’t want to run more than one color, and thus can’t take advantage of powerful gold cards.
I guess the real lesson here is that Armageddon has not been permanently taken away from white. The card Armageddon is too powerful to have as a constant part of the game, but my current opinion is that it’s not too powerful to have around sometimes. And the mechanic of “destroy all lands” has not been taken away from white.
In fact, we think of white as (in part) the mass destruction color. One of white’s big themes is balance. The card Balance is way too powerful to ever print again, but the flavor and the mechanic are very white. White, with its twisted sense of fairness, believes that evening things out is ok. As long as we destroy all the creatures, that’s fair. The fact that you didn’t have any creatures and your opponent had four when you summoned down the Wrath of God isn’t white’s fault, right? Similarly, Armageddon, Akroma's Vengeance, and Balancing Act are very white mechanics.
Another defensive part of white is its reliance on equality. White has the ability to reset the board so that both sides have an equal playing ground. This is why spells like Wrath of God (and yes, even Armageddon) are flavored in white.
Serra: So I'm definitely in Ninth?
Me: No, you're just not on the “definitely remove” list. Hey, maybe we'll put you up for a vote? Do you think you could take Armageddon?
Is MaRo just f'ing with Serra, or us too? + finally, the NAIL IN THE COFFIN:
Armageddon is still in flavor for white (as are all symmetrical mass destruction spells). Red, being the best color at land destruction, also can destroy all lands, and we've been focusing on red's ability to do so a lot more lately. Armageddon and Cataclysm could both see the light of day again sometime, although exactly when is still up in the air.
This is the third time I've done this... please re-read the bits that state that is one of the mass destruction colours, until it is tattoo'd into your mind. Cool, thanks for that.
To summarize: What does pie look like? Armagedd0n, yo
I didn't leave, really, I enjoy disaster waaay too much... but I certainly wouldn't stop coming here. I am enjoying the sort of middle ground this place is filling between the 'news + 'ting feel. I'm voting No, though, in the sense that I feel M:tGN has had its day in the sun.
I really liked the tie-in with the sitename via the stained glass feel of extremestan's entry - I would like to see the other colours filled in though.
Ahh, someone finally went Comedy Option - IT WAS MUSTEVAL, WASN'T IT?!
If I wasn't already convinced that it should be reprinted, the fact that it is leaving 1.X would do the jobbe. I think it deserves a spot next to *** as Iconic M:tG material. Next to. Not instead of. Please.
Oooh, clan votie time. Everyone come outta the woodwork... wait, they already have @_@ Yowsa!! So much buddies, Cthulhu!
Series of Unfortunate Events boring?? I saw it last night, I laughed myself silly. There were two or so sleeper sappy kidsfilm moments, but the film itself looked incredible. Peice of artwork stylie, for definate. The puppet theatre over the end credits was epecially soooo cool. Maybe I spend too much time in the shed playing Artist to appreciate it on an Entertainment level or something, but I thought Lemony was terrific. I sold the books when I worked at a toy store, but I never picked them up except to scan - seemed at least as well written as Hutt Putt. How many have you read, Saka? Isn't Snicket up to 11 or something?
Just noticed the fliter over @ mtgn***. How very Orwellian of them, I thought threatening TiNK over the internet was as shallow + pathetic as this saga would go. I've been doing the internet community thing for some years now, + I can't say I ever seen behaviour quite that childish.
I'll second this, fixed, idea. Lt, good luck keeping the Stupid @ MT - I'll just laugh if Salve institutes Arc-Sponsored Survivor + you win.
+ laugh...

Really? *counts* 6,7,8... Oh no! Armageddon pushed off to 1/1.5?! *panic*
I wonder if that's swung any votes.
+ of course the poll is biased - Armageddon is soooo cool.
