I had to laugh about this one (King Darien XLVIII)...
On the other hand, the last line scares me. There are so many people unfamiliar with Roman numerals? Or it is a joke along the lines "This creature cannot even"...?

Take a look back at the Combat Tricks cycle I did.
Flash of the Blade
Sun and Steel
Play with Madness
Run to the Hills/Fear of the Dark
Sheer articulation and genius. So lite, yet so dynamic and complex.
I specialize in making content that's fun.
If you don't think this spell is fun, just lol.
Lol, I clicked on the first of those threads and it was people in 2017 telling you your card didn’t work due to the rules and you arguing because you didn’t like that the rules didn’t do what you want them to. Five years and you haven’t learned a damn thing.
EDIT: And all your “genius combat tricks” are just modal cards with the theoretical ability to choose which order the modes happen in, but none of the modes interact in ways where the order they happen in would ever matter.
This is the best part of that thread:

I just want to kindly say that Mark Rosewater's opinions have almost no authority with me whatsoever.
I personally believe that the man has been designing Magic: the Gathering entirely blind for years, and fails to possess any dynamic understanding of game and its scientific dynamics. This belief majorly extends to Richard Garfield as well, although I'd say he seems to have a keener sense of theoretical understanding towards certain fun factors of gaming, and this gives him the edge to blindly implement something beneficial now and again. Yet from the very beginning, it's clear to me that the man himself also designed Magic entirely blind, and to this day has achieved no greater understanding towards the scientific details of aspects such as the flow of the cards, the nature of effects based on how they specifically interact with the game, the balance of power based on that principal understanding, and the need for equality (balanced by flavor) which should be the aspect that ties the entire game together and brings it full circle.
Mark Rosewater is just the same, he rambles on a lot about color restrictions, and speaks vaguely on power-level, but never does he articulate upon the intricacies of the game and its scientific dynamics. In fact, he goes so far into the blind devotion of his color separation theories, that his design schematics produce lopsided balances of power between colors set and set (extending all the way to the legacy and vintage formats themselves).
With that said, I hope you can bear with me when my design (which embodies the understanding of these scientific details) attempts to correct and restore the balance of power and interactivity to where it should be.

EDIT: Same outfit, same hair, same staff. It's not the clearest, because Nissa's hair isn't usually that dark or in a braid, but for Kaladesh specifically, that's the art. -

I dont want any politically charged agenda in my card game.
Quite simple.
I dont want any of the characters to display any sexual preference, its a fantasy game that does not need sexually charged anything.
See, I'm a bisexual man, and I know when I'm dating cis women, it's not 'politically charged'. But when I date cis men, or trans or non-binary people, suddenly it is somehow. But that's not about me and my partners, that's the rest of the world's expectations and assumptions.
I'm not convinced that having every character be genderless, asexual and aromantic would actually make it a better game. The characters in Ludo or Monopoly are those things, but even something as abstract as Chess comes with some gender role baggage.
If you treat Magic's characters like pieces of cardboard or purely game pieces, you lose some of this game. And whether they're straight or queer, I prefer my characters to be able to express and embody a full range of the human experience and human emotions - including sex and romance. -

705.1 Optimize
705.1a This works.
705.1b any other wording regardless of how coherent or valid is less elegant and thus less valid than this one.
705.1d no, trust me this works
705.1e if you don't understand how it works don't play it.
705.1g despite the rules saying otherwise the card does as it says it does.
705.1f the card also does more than it says it does based on the rules for it.
705.1j this card was designed by a superior designer unless your opponent also is playing cards designed by a superior designer you win because your designs are superior.
705.1l this card costs 2 more or less to cast as decided by your playgroup at the time of casting. -

FetalTadpole posted a message on Wall of Thorns, Unforgiving Amazon of Krosa, & VenomvoreIf blocking with this thing is going to redirect all excess damage to the controller, why would the attacking player assign excess damage at all?Posted in: Custom Card Creation
Just make the thing remove trample from anything it blocks. That ends up being the correct play anyways. New players think trample is automatic and it's not. -

For the record, even if my parameters were ignored.
The Necromancer is just a good mythic, and still not entirely broken.
Wait a moment... wait a moment... wait a moment
Why are you referencing Lightning Greaves? Do you think that your card effect is somehow stopped by shroud/hexproof in spite of not containing the word "target"?
Is that what we're dealing with now? -

megatog201 posted a message on Wrag, Titan of RebirthUro isn't broken because of the escape mechanic. Uro is broken because of its enters the battlefield abilities. Just look at the cheaper brother and see how much weaker it is. Even costs less and still not nearly as good.Posted in: Custom Card Creation
Uro has 2 abilities that are very very good. Drawing a card represents 1/4 of a turn. (According to The Dojo) putting a land into play is also 1/4 a turn. (Again, according to The Dojo). So each time you play Uro you are getting a half turn of upside. Plus the 3 life. Kroxa only costs them 1/4 turn. The 3 life on either card isn't really that strong. 3 life only matters when it's the last 3 life. And you can get into the 50s and still lose.
All that said to say if your titan was
Vrex, Titan of Life and Death 1BG
Legendary Creature - Elder Giant
When Vrex enters the battlefield, sacrifice it unless it escaped.
Whenever Vrex, Titan of Life and Death enters the battlefield or attacks, you may return another card from your graveyard to your hand.
Escape BBGG, Exile 5 other cards from your graveyard.
6/6
It would still be fine. You are getting a situational and limited 1/4 of a turn.
Lastly I added another card rather than a card so that way it can't continually return itself. -

Rosy Dumplings posted a message on Grusilda's ToolsPosted in: Custom Card CreationQuote from ReapThaWhirlwind »The term 'mutated' refers to the keyword mechanic.
I don't think the typical person is going to question what that means, so long as they are familiar with the mechanic.
It's uhh...very coherent to read the term, 'mutated with'.
Whereas, using the descriptive term from the comprehensive rulings has no open relativity to the keyword mechanic, and thus isn't very coherent.
"Mutated with" would have been a decent term of phrase that WotC could have used... but they didn't... so you are wrong.

For example:
Call For Blood can't see the creature that was sacrificed when its time for the ability to eventually trigger.
If I have a spell on the battlefield and Ephemerate it, it never comes back.
Nonsensical text like animating Spark Spray which would gain "When this creature attacks, Cycling R"
TLDR: Works fine in an unset, but has to be reworked majorly to be doable in the core Magic rules.

Aetherwell Animator 3
Legendary Artifact
Instant and sorcery spells you control have “Create an elemental creature token with this spell’s colors and base power and toughness equal to its mana value.”
Putting non-permanent cards onto the battlefield creates rules weirdness and trying to change a spell on the stack into an ETB effect is also too complex to actually write out. This way, the spell (even if it was a copy or wasn’t cast somehow) just resolves normally and you then get an appropriately sized token.
Legendary so that it’s harder to stack multiples.

On a larger scale, if your intention is designing for a commander draft, you should be fine basing your plans on the 20 draft pack model. There's not a new commander draft set in the expected future, so no indication how the draft/set/play booster model would effect those types of products.
My only concern for you is that fortifications (even with a reconfigure type riff) are incredibly narrow for usable and game relevant design space. I think you will likely have a difficult time finding enough depth to make a full theme for your set around them.

Kindling 3RR
Enchantment
You may cast CARDNAME as though it had flash for R. If you do, sacrifice it when it enters the battlefield.
When CARDNAME enters the battlefield or at the beginning of your upkeep, CARDNAME deals 2 damage to any target.
