Hmm, even with Scuttling Death and the Honden is pack one, I would've snatched up the Befoul. The Samurai is good no doubt, but Befoul is excellent removal in this slower CBS environment (as if it was ever bad).

    Just a few card suggestions.

Ideas Unbound, or Thirst for Knowledge can help to dig deeper into your deck and then discard any creatures to be reanimated.

Footsteps of Goryo if thats the name...is really nice with Kagemaro, Kokusho and Keiga, etc. to allow to benefit from some of these legendary abilities.

If you plan on using Greater Good, is Enshrined Memories even necessary? Grafted Wargear together with Greater Good should net you with plenty of cards to work with. I think Jugan is actually one of the best creatures mentioned. I think that even Tangle Golem could have some merit. With the eight land searchers, the Golem can give you a nice sized body on the cheap in no time.

This isn't exactly what you were asking for, just some ideas to kick around. Been tossing around Greater Good for a while myself.

Black and Green seem like the best bet here. Black is the strongest color and the green ensures you have enough playable creatures.

First pick Akuba and then 2nd pick Lava Spike? Either Consuming Vortex, Rainshaper, or No-Dachi would have been better. I don't like how this draft went. Too many playable blue cards in pack 1, pick 1 and the trend continues with available Teller of Tales fifth pick.

Your picks are sorta all over the place and think that there were plenty of better picks available with the given information.

I'd have to agree with most of what Bogan stated. Millstone definately doesn't belong in this deck. I would've also tried running the blue instead of the green, even the Sentry due to lowered creature count. Even without running the blue Coercion seems like it would've better better than the Millstone.

That's all I can think that would've saved the deck with what you have. For the most part, I think during the draft you made some choices that hurt you. It is difficult to say for certain, but I'm sure this is something that will help you in future drafts.

Are Master Healer or Worship first picks. Not really first pick first pack. First pick in a latter pack as long as they are on color def. But not first pick overall.

I'd have to say most definately. Worship will definately be difficult for any opponent to handle and the Healer is extremely difficult to remove. Red removal can hardly touch him, not to mention the magic he works preserving your creatures and your life total. Even if I was not in white, I if I could fit him in I would splash for him depending of how the draft is going and other picks as well.

not to be a jerk buta number of your common picks were commons and have moved to uncommon statis--nantuko husk, inquisitor, etc. would that change your picks?

Zealous Inquisitor// I'd move either Samite Healer or Crosbow Infantry here.

Thought Courier// I'd move up Remove Soul and positon Boomerang after that.

Nantuko Husk// I'd move the other up and then go with Looming Shade, Enfeeblement, or possibly Foul Imp. (need to draft 9th to be sure)

Flowstone Crusher// I'd go with Hammer, Shock, Shaman, then Sandstone Warrior.

These are just options, picks could change after a few sessions of drafting 9th.

Urza's Bauble seems like a bit of a waste of space to me. If you want to cycle through you deck, I'd go for the Onslaught cycling lands. Ok, so they cost 1 to cycle rather than 0, and CIP tapped, but they're very good, unless the CIP tapped is something you really can't stand. Plus they have a bit of synergy withlodestone bauble/crucible of worlds.

Lodestone Bauble reads 1 mana Tap, Sacrifice Lodestone Bauble: Put up to four target basic land cards from a player’s graveyard on top of his or her library in any order. That player draws a card at the beginning of the next turn’s upkeep.

The whole idea of mentioning the Bauble/Crucible is to counteract the effects of Armageddon, that is you can re-build a bit easier.

    Landkill Problem

Both Lodestone Bauble and Crucible of Worlds and help out plenty there, should be an easy fix. The bauble is never dead as its basically a cantrip. The Crucible can be the strongest of the two if you are using fetchlands, etc.

    Rattlesnakes

Bloodfire Colossus is one of the best here. He may have a large cost attached, but his effect on that table will be even greater.

Goblin Sharpshooter and be quite nice as well, especially given a Death Pits of Rath or Horobi, Death's Wail to team-up with. It bit strong there and will definately get all the players at the table thinking, and hoping your alliance with them is strong.

Removal is not terrible prevelant in 9th draft. The only way you could ever justify drafting Zealout Inquistor over Pacifism is if you already had like 6 Pacifisms.

I'd take that seventh Pacifism with a smile. Smile

The more I think about it though, the less I like the Inquistor. I'd likely not ever want to play more than 2 copies in my deck. That :1mana::symw: can really put a crunch on your mana. Along those lines as well, if white isn't the dominant color in your pile how valuable is he? Its the same situation with Looming Shade, Consume Spirit and Sandstone Warrior, etc. Those cards demand alot of basic lands of the appropriate type be included in your deck.

I did enjoy your article also, though I disagree slightly with the color rankings. I put red on top over white. Hate-drafting those late Mending Hands.

I think you overestimate the Inquisitor. To stand up to a 3/3 (i.e. Trained Armodon, Hill Giant) and survive you will need at least :2mana::symw::symw:. That's fine in the late game, but early on you should have more important things to do. While Master Decoy is cheaper to play and its ability is easier to use.

Btw, in that "creature war" scenario, you do know that green has Trained Armodon, Order of the Sacred Bell, Craw Wurm, Rootbreaker Wurm, and even Scaled Wurm (though a bit too costly) that usually come out faster and larger than most of whites men. Master Decoy handles those dudes alot easier and quicker that the Inquisitor.

Well, I'd have to say that Master Decoy is the best white creature to draft overall. Pegasus beats out the Inquisitor as it is much more efficient in the early game, and only later on does the Inquisitor really gain power. Also, Mending Hands sould actually be better in 9th that it has been in Kamigawa block. And while I'm at it, my...

Definately a format I recommend. Last mixed booster draft was such a great time. Won two games on the back off Jangling Automaton & Gang of Elk equipped with Nemesis Mask. Favorite booster to choose: Weatherlight. Smile

Don't forget we still have the Talisman's and Chrome Mox around for a while as well that will survive the fire. Sakura-Tribe Elder is also nice with Wildfire in the case you manage to cast a Wildfire with 3 lands in play and an Elder on the board. The lands get sacrificed first and then the damage is dealt to creatures. This allows use to sacrifice the Elder after damage and keep one land in play. Solemn Simulacrum could be great here as well.
