Does it really matter (beyond aesthetics) what rarity something is in a Duel Deck? I mean, if we assume that Gerard Capashen, Urza's Rage, Coalition Victory, and Legacy Weapon are all in the deck, then does it really matter which one is mythic, so long as the other ones are still in there, even at rare? It's a purely market-based decision. Urza's Rage is probably the sexiest card, and Gerard makes the most sense flavorfully, but I'd go with Legacy Weapon over anything else because Gerard is terrible, and it feels weird having the "mascot" of a deck be an Instant, no matter now sexy it is.
Well, the mythic is foil with new art. For some of us, that's the entire reason for buying the damn thing.
well it seems that each store has gotten one of these cards, I talked with a few other game store owners and they each got only one. so buy them while they are cheap, seems like if there are that rare they will go up, just my 2 cents.

Actually, if they follow the trend of the last three holiday cards, they'll peak in the $40-$50 range for a month or so, then people will forget about them and they'll drop to the $30-$40 range, until next Christmas, when they'll climb again. I paid about $38 for mine, including shipping.
Zaphrasz has a point. Way back when Rosewater was doing that series that defined the modern color pie, he mentioned Ozymandias from Watchmen as a white flavored villain. Sure, he did a lot of good, halting a nuclear war and everything, but let's be real: To do so, he killed millions and millions of people. The phrase "the road to hell is paved with good intentions" is White. Some of the most horrible acts in history, and especially the history of the Magic storyline, have been taken for the so called "greater good".

I think that a lot of the backlash might be because people are seeing White as hypocritical? They're "supposed" to be the good guys, while everyone expects Black to be the bad guys.
In the Kamigawa block, Toshiro Umezawa is the good guy and he is a black card. Conversely, Takeshi Konda is the bad guy and he is a white card. So Black does not necessarily equal evil and white does not necessarily equal good.

Quick Point about Mono-black being featured so much:
Black, although not technically the "evil" color of mana, consistently has characters of less-than-reputable quality, who serve as foils to characters who possess a firmer moral compass. So, expect black to be featured in quite a few, as one can't look at Mono-Red and say, EVIL!, you need a black splash for that to happen.
Who says that Duel Decks have to be about "Good" versus "Evil"? Neither Jace nor Chandra is inherently good/evil. Elves and Goblins are neither good nor evil. Heck, Liliana isn't really evil. All you need are two opposing viewpoints that don't even have to be enemy colors (although it helps).
eBay, or another online merchant, my friend. Expect to drop $50. If you wait until February, when the hype's died down, you can probably save ten bucks, but they're not cheap.

Which means that we, the unwashed masses, must resort to bribery, skulduggery, or other underhanded methods of online purchase. Your FLGS MIGHT be willing to sell a copy, but it's definitely a might, and five people who wanted it more already got there and asked about it.

I know that it's an absurdly bad card, but I think that my favorite card is still Gabriel Angelfire. I remember when I first got one for my GW deck, before it was reprinted in Chronicles. I had a choice - for $17 I could get either Gabriel or the Tabernacle at Pendrell Vale. I was advised by the store owner to get the Tabernacle, and I kind of wish I'd followed that advice now, but I bought Gabriel and shuffled him into my 65 (60 card deck? What's that?). I don't know that I drew him in more than a handful of games, but I really liked playing with a Legend.
