The End of an Era

Thanks for the input, guys. I've came up with a new wording that nullifies damage, and can even abuse CIP abilities. Here it is:

    Blessed-Wind Phalanx - 2W
    Creature - Human Soldier
    1/4
    Defender (This creature can't attack.)
Whenever a permanent you control is put into a graveyard from play, you may remove CARDNAME from the game. If you do, return that card to play.

@Ambiguity - The guide is a beast because this set is based on Greek mythology, so it has a lot of mythological beasts in each color. The guide is one of them. Smile

EDIT: See post #9 for new wording.

This is a cycle-over-rarities for white, to be featured in my next set. Please comment. Smile

    Blessed-Wind Phalanx - 2W
    Creature - Human Soldier (Common)
    1/4
    Defender (This creature can't attack.)
Whenever a permanent you control would be destroyed, you may destroy CARDNAME instead.

    Blessed-Wind Pegasus - 4W
    Creature - Pegasus (Uncommon)
    2/3
    Flying
Whenever a permanent you control would be destroyed, you may destroy CARDNAME instead.

    Blessed-Wind Guide - 3WWW
    Creature - Beast (Rare)
    3/4
    Flying
Whenever a permanent you control would be destroyed, you may destroy another permanent you control instead.

    Creature - Bird Wizard
    Vigilance
:symtap:: Counter target spell unless its controller pays :2mana:.
    2/3

This is a bit odd since it's a non-flying bird. Anyway, I think it's a tad too strong... perhaps "unless its controller pays 1"?

Most of them are pretty damn strong, even for multicolored cards. I'm guessing most of them should be rare.

Disruptive Charge - Yeah, this is a more color-intensive Hesitation.

Muddle - "unless he pays 4" would be more like it.

Echoes of the Aether - I'd make this "in your graveyard". Nice card anyway.

Spell Battery - This wording shouldn't work. It should be "Whenever a spell or ability you control counters a spell...". Very nice card anyway, my favorite of the bunch.

Parachute School - I usually don't like this sort of card because keywords change over time, and so does this card's functionality. for example, "Islandhome" isn't a keyword anymore; and the "Serra ability" is now keyworded Vigilance.

Into the Wilderness - I'd say text-altering is definitely blue.

Poisonous Relationship - This is pretty nice. "Until end of turn"?

Gasoline Upon the Flame - I really don't think this would work rules-wise.

I gotta say this, BoK art is simply AMAZING. Genju of the Spires is probably the best one.

I think you overlooked Kira: her abilities affect her as well, and she's a 2/2 flyer for 3. I wouldn't say "she won't stay around for long". Smile

Just one card for me - Disrupting Shoal. Judging by the reactions in this forum, I'll be able to pick these up for about 50 cents each, then make a fortune once people realize that THEY REPRINTED FORCE OF WILL.

Disrupting Shoal is as close to FoW as Hisoka, Minamo Sensei is close to Ertai, Wizard Adept. Actually, fix that: the Shoal is not NEARLY as close. We shall find out soon enough. Wink

poor green gets the shaft AGAIN:(

Again? I'd say it was about time. Green is currently the strongest color in Standard (artifact isn't a color, heh). It's the best artifact destroyer, and it also has awesome cards like Tooth and Nail and Eternal Witness, not to mention Sakura-Tribe Elder and Kodama's reach, arguably the two best commons for constructed play in Kamigawa Block.

Well, here's my top 5. I took into consideration constructed-playability and coolness. Smile

    5. Final Judgement - Shouldn't make a splash in Standard just now IMO, but block just needed a white mass removal spell *badly*.
    4. Sowing Salt - Tooth and Nail's time has came. At least the Urzatron build.
    3. Yuroka the Prisoner - I don't think this fits into current MBC builds, but, given the right build, this should be awesome as a drawbackless 5/5 for four.
    2. Hokori, Dusk Drinker - This is just what White Weenie needs to compete against slower decks. Unfortunately, we still have Raffinity. Frown
    1. Iwamori of the Open Fist - This guy is a beating machine. Even in block, with all the legends around, it should be good.

Edit: I hadn't quite figured out what the white shoal did yet. It redirect damage from a creature or player to another CREATURE or PLAYER. Oh my God. It should definitely be #1 now, which is awesome, since I LOVE white! Grin

Gotta love the white shoal! I don't know how powerful it is yet, but it's probably pretty solid.
And Mirror Gallery is just... wacky! Grin

Yay, that's pretty neat!!! Grin Guess I'll take the chance and showcase the storyline for my next block, codenamed Here, There, and Everywhere, and inspired by Greek mythology. Smile

    Storyline:
A young minotaur warrior is standing at Mount Pyros, just outside Trece, the Ashen Peaks' capitol. He had meaning to go there for a while now, but, between training and helping his mother and uncle, only now has he found the time. Something about Mount Pyros has been bugging him for a while; whenever he looked at the Colossus, the huge bronze statue of the Fire God, standing at the top of the Mount, he could sense something calling him. Seeing the ravaged state of his continent, he had long since stopped believing in gods as the world's creators. But now, standing at the feet of the Colossus, he could sense it even clearer... It was a voice, a deep, thundering voice, and it was speaking to him.

Everything then seemed to happen in a fraction of seconds. The voice introduced itself as the Fire God, and said that not only him, but all other gods, creators of this world, needed the young minotaur's help. The Fire God told him to wander the land in search of the most powerful demigods in the five countries of the continent, gather them, and head to Mount Philotheos, known as the ancient dwelling to gods. The young minotaur was confused; he knew demigods were powerful heroes, said to be the offspring of gods and mortals. He didn't even believe this definition was actually true, because he didn't believe in gods, so why should he be assigned this task? "Because you, Thatos, are the strongest of my sons", replied the voice, "and I, you father, need your help to save the gods from our prison, and thus save the world from the greatest of evils".

Thatos woke up sweating in his bed. Everything that had just happened seemed much too real, it couldn't have been a dream. Was he actually a demigod? He never knew his father... actually, he had learned to hate his father for leaving him and his mother behind. But the voice had said that the gods are trapped somehow, and the greatest of evils was threatening the world. What could be so powerful to hold gods captives? If the world was deprived from the gods' care, it could explain a lot... it could explain the endless wars; the infinite hostility between the five countries; it could explain the elders' claims of a past time where gods protected mortals... Even though he didn't want to believe any of this, something had awakened inside Thatos... he was feeling powerful, feeling a hidden force deep within him... it couldn't be true... or could it? It was time for him to have a revealing conversation with his mother and uncle.

    Sample Cards:
Thatos, Son of Fire - 2RRR
    Legendary Creature - Minotaur Warrior
Whenever a nonred creature comes into play, if you control four or more red creatures, Thatos, Son of Fire deals 2 damage to it.
R: Target creature gets +1/+0 until end of turn.
    4/3

    Marshal Konstantinos - 4W
    Legendary Creature - Human Soldier
Militance 2 (Whenever this is dealt combat damage, put two +1/+1 counters on it.)
Amity - Creatures you control get +1/+1 and have first strike. (This card has amity as long as all nonland permanents you control share a color with it.)
    2/3

Colossus of the Ashen Peaks - 6
    Legendary Artifact - Wonder
You can't play nonred, nonartifact spells.
Whenever you play a red spell, Colossus of the Ashen Peaks deals 2 damage to target player.
The statue of the Fire God, always inspiring Trecean people in battle.

    Aeopus, Kentros Liege - 2GG
    Legendary Creature - Centaur Lord
Whenever you play a green spell, put a wisdom counter on Aeopus, Kentros Liege.
Amity - Remove four wisdom counters from Aeopus: Draw a card for each creature you control. (This card has amity as long as all nonland permanents you control share a color with it.)
    4/4

    Arionide, Medusa Queen - 3BB
    Legendary Creature - Gorgon Lord
When Arionide, Medusa Queen comes into play, put a stone counter on each creature you don't control.
At the beginning of your upkeep, destroy target creature with one or more stone counters. Then, if your opponents control no creatures, return Arionide to its owner's hand.
    2/3
