It's obviously never going to be competitive.

But it's awesome in casual, and a lot of fun. If you have a green deck that's just for fun, EMRA-COOL!

  • posted a message on How do you feel mythic rares have impacted Magic?
I'm honestly just tired of the whining. Having something harder to find than one in every pack isn't bad. I also happen to hate the Yu-Gi-Oh comparasions. Yu-Gi-Oh has easily over 6 rarities. I can name Common, Rare, Super Rare, Ultra Rare, Gold Rare, Secret Rare, Ghost Rare, and Ultimate Rare just off of the top of my head.

At the same time, it angers me when wizards prints utter crap like Cast Through Time and Conflux at mythic rare. I think mythics should be worth being mythic, but not all be tourney playable. I also think that while the Mythic rarity exists, Wizards has to be careful with cards like Baneslayer Angel and Jace, the Mind Sculptor. The prices of these cards alone are enough to deter people from playing Standard.

I seperate the side of me that say "WIN WIN WIN" from the side that says "slow downand have some fun" when I play magic. Certian times I let the fun voice take over. Certian times I let the competative voice take over. It just depends what mood I am in.

...and this puts you above the "competitive player" stereotype. People hate competitive players because they are stereotyped as only caring about winning and not having fun. A lot of people hate competitive play itself because they say that it takes the deckbuilding element out of the game through netdecking. I agree, but I've come to terms with the fact that netdecking is INEVITABLE and there's basically no way to stop it.

With Eldrazi Spawn tokens, this will be...wow. Just wow.

I work in a video game store and I get sick of seeing Nintendo constantly do the same thing with everything they make.

    LOL WII FIT

On topic, I have seen these threads over and over. Wizards needs to get their asses in gear about this, and if it's a problem with whoever's printing the cards, they need to take it up with them. It hasn't been a big problem around here, but I've heard a lot of people here on MTGS having shortage issues.

  • posted a message on river of tears possibly?.....
    No.
River of Tears is on Arkhos.
Horizon Canopy is on Pyrulea IIRC.

The only possibilities for FS duals in RotE left are Grove of the Burnwillows and Nimbus Maze, and as much as I love those cards, it just doesn't seem like it'll happen.

  • posted a message on Do all attended events count towards MPR?
I know this isn't a big deal, but I was just wondering:
I've been to 5 sanctioned events now. However, I went to two or three of them before I signed up for MPR (I was just signed up for DCI.) When would I get a mailing if one is sent? It says I have been to five events, but if I click on Player Rewards, it says "Total TokenSet Points, Current TokenSet Points, Total Foil Points", and "Current Foil Points" are all 3, and under "Type" it says Current.

    Thanks in advance!

  • posted a message on Chaos Orb - should it be legal?
    Quote from KPDaly16
So Chaos Orb, as I understand it, it banned because it "requires manual dexterity". Same goes for Falling Star. Now, if this is the case, shouldn't every card that requires you to flip a coin be banned? It feels like there's a bit of a double standard. I can understand the idea that Chaos Orb or Falling Star could possibly be manipulated more easily than a coin, and it would be a judging nightmare to figure out "at least 1 foot above the game", but being a judging nightmare isn't grounds for banning, is it?

    Thoughts?

No, Orb should not be legal, nor should coin flip cards be banned. The reason that it's banned due to needing dexterity is that this dexterity influences the result of the card. It's incredibly difficult, if not impossible, to use dexterity to influence a coin flip.

Not to mention the fact that you don't need to assert that there are no gods to be an atheist. All you need to do is not assert that there are gods. If your response to the question "Do you believe in a god or gods," is anything other than "Yes," even "I don't know," you are an atheist.

Actually, nope. Saying "I'm not sure whether God exists or not, and I'm not forming a definite opinion now/ever" is Agnosticism. But more or less, yes, you're right.

I'd take it if I could painlessly and instantly die whenever I wanted. Perhaps I'd get bored after a while, or I'd get tired of seeing people I cared about die while I still lived on.

    3) Atheism is the claim that no gods exist. Atheism therefore must prove a negative, but it is impossible to prove a negative. Therefore, atheism is an impossible doctrine.

I despise this argument. So something has to be proved to NOT exist before it becomes unreasonable for it to exist?

Fine. (This upcoming part also disproves the "but belief requires faith" argument)

Then I believe in a council of giant levitating purple onion-goyfs wearing robes and squid hats who created the universe by waving wands made from macaw feathers and unicorn horns.

You can't prove me wrong, so my beliefs are just as valid as yours, and not much less likely. I don't have a shred of evidence, sure, but you can't DISPROVE it either.

  • posted a message on Evolution: Fact, Theory, or Fiction?
In my opinion, many people who think they can "debunk" evolution don't actually understand it. The most common example is probably the "random chance" argument, e.g. "Life is too complex to have evolved randomly!" The key word here is randomly, which shows nothing more than that the user of this argument has no idea what they're talking about.

NOTE THE FOLLOWING IS MY OPINION AND MY OPINION ONLY:
If you don't believe in evolution, and in lieu of that, are a creationist, you either don't understand evolution or creationism or you're just not using your head.

This is a bit much. I'm somewhere in between agnostic and atheist myself, but these people are going overboard. If people are going to argue against it because something she did is unhumanitarian, fine. But this doesn't really encourage religion, and what people aren't willing to understand is that something that hints at religion or atheism in such a tiny way such as this will not influence someone most of the time; people who go for religion will, and people who won't won't.
