Yes, because she has as much a medical right to privacy as a 25, 35, or 85 year old woman would have. And just because you don't like abortions or you don't like privacy, you don't get to obfuscate existing laws. Privacy is recognized by the court, especially in medical matters, and abortion is legal. You don't get to sell your position by "Well, sure it's illegal, but is that really so bad?"

What about a twelve year old girl Stax? Does she have the same medical right to privacy as a 25, 35 or 85 year old woman would have? I know it sounds extreme, but please consider than in some rare instances this will actually happen. I could not fathom telling the parents of a twelve year old that their little girl just had an abortion, and that they had no right to know. I shudder at the thought of that scenario.

What about the emotional/psychological damage such a procedure could have on the girl? I don't think it unreasonable to say the operation would leave the girl a completely changed person. Parents have no right to know why almost overnight their daughter became a different person?

I included single copies of each creature you specified as a requirment. My one inclusion is of course Lightning Helix. It is a must for any R/W deck, and certainly a must for the Boros.

Calling it a "false statement," while correct, gives it a connotation that doesn't fit. Generally, "false statement" is used when someone says something they know to be false. In this case, it was just a mistake, and since I've known Carter for several years, I'm sure it was an honest one.

I have no doubt the mistake was an honest one. I wasn't trying to imply the man purposely gave false information, and I really don't think anyone else thinks he did either. It was just a mistake...a rather large mistake, but a mistake never the less.

From this week's edition of Saturday School on Wizards...

Q:My opponent and I both have 6 life. He attacks with two Gleancrawlers. I play Boros Fury-Shield including some red mana. What is the result of this game? --Scott L.

A:The game is a draw. You'll take 6 from the unprevented Gleancrawler at the same time your opponent takes 6 from the Fury-Shield.

How blatantly wrong is this? I've seen this judge make similar false statements in the past. Why do they keep him around?

So is everyone in agreement that the Golgari will most likely be the most represented guild at States?

What ais everyone's thoughts on Boros Fury Shield? With T&N leaving the for format its stock drop with me quite a bit.

Radiance isn't bad, but I do feel it could have benefited from a few more card slots. I believe it only appears on ten cards, the fewest of all the guild mechanics. Hard to get a proper feel for the mechanic with so few cards available.

I'm actually starting to really dig Convoke. There is more of a strategy element to it than I first expected.

I didn't realize there were so many tags. All I do is quote, select all, and then modify the font. Hrmph.

I don't like playing with foils.

I'm not saying the block was awesome. I'm just saying it wasn't all bad. You will never, ever here me argue that it is better than Ravnica block, or superior to Mirrodin in terms of power.

Damn Tawnos that song was bad. :p It would have been funnier without all the repetition, and if there were a few more Magic references in it. I smiled a couple times early on, then ended up skimming to the end and crying.

Everyones a critic! Rolleyes Twas' two in the morning, and the song was from Culture Club, whaddya expect? You try rhyming that dang song. I found a spot for Kokusho, but couldn't find anything that rhymed with "conviction."

    As for their being 25...*snip*

Blah..Blah...Blah...Bought a crapload of boxes to sell as singles...yada...yada..yada...set didn't sell...grumble...grumble...grumble...10% off all Kamigawa block...yackity smackity...

That about sum up your thoughts? Your opinion doesn't count on this one R_E, no matter how logical you may present them. You're biased. :tongue2: Even though you should agree with me, just for the sake of trying to boost sales. Work with me here brother.

When I open good cards, should I bother mentioning it here? Or should I just take a picture of my 10+ foil Putrefies and post it here when I'm done? :p

    You bastage.

The price they had was for the non-foil version....they were in the same sleeve on the page....he noticed. Its kinda my fault for hesitating and just not buying when he was occupied by another customer.

That is still a very unhonorable business practice. That damages customer trust and confidence in the business. If you were my customer I would have honored the sale.

When I was 18 I was working for Champs Sporting Goods. One day an older woman came into the store to purchase a hat for her son. The exact hat escapes me, but in was a very popular hat at the time, and our store was absolutely stocked with them. I kid you not we must have had eight or nine rows of this particular hat. (If you've ever been inside a Champs store you'll understand what I mean by stocked. At times Champs can be the Costco of sporting wear.)

Anways, this lady actually sits down and stats going row by row through the hats. Slightly puzzled, I walked over and asked her if she needed assistance finding a particular size. "No, I'm looking for a cheaper price." After about the fourth or fifth row she finally finds a hat, priced about $2 less than it should have been, stands up and proudly proclaims she will be buying this hat!

She threw such a fit when I refused to sell it to her. For a second I thought she might drop down to the floor, and start rolling around crying while she beat her fists on the ground.

Sure my decision was partly due to being a prick at age 18, but I also refused to sell the hat because I felt she was purposely trying to cheat our business. Not only in regards to the price of the hat, but also for my time paid to sit around a monitor her while she searched, and also to clean up the mess she left behind.

Long story short (too late) the manager comes in, finds the woman throwing a fit, and sells it to her at the reduced price. I was then written up for my refusal to sell. I was told that if the customer reported us to the better business bureau we could actually be fined.

Moral of the story is don't eat potato chips while lying in bed.

Legato - You need to make sure your sig is enclosed with tags. You also need to make sure that when you input in the web address it does not automatically convert itself to a url. This usually happens when you cut/paste the address. Try just typing in the address by hand.

Jonny - I will not shed a tear when Mirrodin rotates out. The block was fun for about two weeks, and then grew quite stale.

To this day I'm still trying to figure out Wizards logic of creating a five color theme as the last set in an artifact block. Never made too much sense for me.

This song goes out to all you haters, from Tawnos!

Desert loving in your eyes all the way.
If I listen to your lies would you say
    I'm a man without conviction,
    I'm a man who doesn't love Kokusho
    how to sell a contradiction.
You come and go, you come and go.

Kama kama kama kama kama gawa block,
you come and go, you come and go.
Loving would be easy if your colours were like my dream,
red white blue black and green, red white blue black and green.

Don't hear your wicked akuba every day
and you used to be so sweet, I heard you say
that my love was an addiction.
When we cling our love is strong.
When you go you're gone forever.
You string along, you string along.

Kama kama kama kama kama gawa block,
you come and go, you come and go.
Loving would be easy if your colours were like my dream,
red white blue black and green, red white blue black and green.

    Every day is like survival,
you're my lover, not my rival.
    Every day is like survival,
you're my lover, not my rival.

    I'm a man without conviction,
    I'm a man who doesn't know
    how to sell a contradiction.
You come and go, you come and go.

Kama kama kama kama kama gawa block,
you come and go, you come and go.
Loving would be easy if your colours were like my dream,
red white blue black and green, red white blue black and green.

Kama kama kama kama kama gawa block,
you come and go, you come and go.
Loving would be easy if your colours were like my dream,
red white blue black and green, red white blue black and green.

Kama kama kama kama kama gawa block,
you come and go, you come and go.
Loving would be easy if your colours were like my dream,
red gold and green, red gold and green. (fade)

First of all, twenty one isn't much better than fifteen, so far as an entire block is concerned...

Was there really that many more in Mirrodin block? Outside of Raffinity that is. Eh, Pacha?

Edit: Ah crap! I see both Laika and Cyan lurking here! I know I'm gonna get it now!

15 is probably a high estimate...and yeah, they're almost all Rares, except for like..Tribe-Elder.

Meloku, Dosan, STE, Kodama's Reach, Kiki-Jikki, Forbidden Orchard, Rend Flesh, Hand of Cruelty, Hand of Honor, Kokusho, Isamuru, Lantern Kami, Terashi's Verdict, Gifts Ungiven, Twincast, Cranial Extraction, Pithing Needle, Sensei's Divining Top, Boseiju and Umezawa's Jitte.

I think you would agree those are all tournament quality cards in one form or another. Not necessarily that they are all in tournament decks, but rather they could reasonably find a home in one.

What about the other non-tournament, but kinda cool as all hell cards? Like the cycles of Genjus, Myojins and Hondens? The remaining four legendary dragons?

I absolutely loved Kamigawa block from a creative standpoint. Japanese folklore combined with legendaries up the arse should have been damn cool.

And I'm tinkering with a Boros based aggro. It's getting raped by Golgari, but I'm trying to find a happy medium with the control elements.

    Told ya so Cyan!

Laika, do you run Master Warcraft in your build? That card is sweet! Ended up purchasing a bunch for like $.50 per, based on a hunch that this card might crop up in a few tournament decks.

I assumed the smilie in the poll was a direct knock on me as well. Frown

I do not want to see our clan thread overrun by clan hopefuls. "Rawr!" is going to get pretty old, pretty fast.

Laika, what kind of trades are you looking for?

    6. Chord of Calling
    7. Watchwolf
    8. Loxodon Hierarch
    9. Divebomber Griffin
    10. Disembowel

Those are in no particular order.

As far as the worst cards in the set my votes would be for Viashino Fangtail, Viashino Slasher and Convolute.
