I sent a private message to R_E. I didn't go into details in the pm on what happened, but did let him know my disappearence was related to personal issues (which I've now discussed in this thread). At the time of the pm I didn't even plan on posting again in the clan thread. I was embarressed about what happened, probably figured I had already been given the boot, and told him if not I would be withdrawing from the clan anyways.
Only reason I posted was because of the lawsuit crap. Just wanted to show my support.
I am so seriously upset right now that I can barely type this. How dare you guys make comments about my *disgraceful* actions without even giving me the benefit of the doubt to explain what happened!!!! That was completely uncalled for! And Cyan I have no idea what I EVER did to you, but you really seem to be on the anti-Tawnos bandwagon...
FOR THE RECORD....
In the last three months I had lost my old job, had my small business basically shut-down and put into a $10k hole due to some fraudulent schmuck's paypal chargeback, and was given the news that my 18 month old son is going to need major eye surgery soon (which could leave him blind in one eye).
The only thing I EVER did that some might consider disgraceful is fail to follow up re-sending a card to Rancored_Elf. I had made a trade agreement with him, we both sent the cards, and because of a stupid typo on my end the original item came back. Then all of the other crap came up one right after the other, and in all the stress/confusion I completely forgot about sending it back out. Until just earlier this week I have been completely without an internet connection. Couldn't afford the internet bill. Couldn't afford my car payments. Couldn't afford much of anything except for food and rent. And then just barely.
But thanks for making me dredge all that out.
I contacted Rancored Elf two nights ago and let him know what had happened, and deeply apologized to him. I made sure he knew I wasn't out to screw him and would be mailing the card asap. Which I have done. Didn't anyone bother to ask RI about the huge trade a made with him last year before calling my actions "disgraceful". I would never screw anyone over in a trade, especially someone who I did consider my friend, and over something as ridiculous as four $7 cards.
Just saw the news regarding Daron. Nice to see that after all these years Wizards decides now is the time to try and start some crap with Daron. It is a b.s. legal threat, intended only to squelch his sources.
I just wanted to let you know Daron that I have been watching Law and Order for years, and am well versed in legalise speak. If you'd like I'd be happy to draw up a letter informing Wizards that their lawsuit has been counterspelled while on the stack.
From a flavor standpoint isn't one of white's themes taxing? Perhaps Haunt targets permanents controlled by opponents?
I find it to be very in flavor of the white/black guild to tax your opponent each time one of their permanents is put in the graveyard.
Morgue Sweeper - Creature - Human Cleric
When Morgue Sweeper comes into play, destroy target black creature.
Haunt (When Morgue sweeper is put into a graveyard from play, you may return it to play haunting target creature an opponent controls. When haunted creature leaves play, remove this from the game.)
When the creature Morgue Sweeper haunts is put into a graveyard, destroy target black creature.

Glad to hear your boys had fun Daron! You didn't specificy though, did you take them out or did their mother take them?
I'm here at work, so unfortunately I had to miss Halloween with the kids this year. Which really sucks because my son is now old enough to walk, and I would have loved to have had him standing on the porch in his little outfit when a neighbor answered the door.
About religion...yeah. No real opinions here. I believe in a higher power, but nothing more in-depth than that. Basically I feel my all powerful and all knowing god couldn't care less whether or not I gathered with other people to "worship" him on Sundays. Especially since I have it on good authority that god is a Giants fan.
I don't see why this mechanic couldn't have expanded to Instand and Sorceries. Just a very minor rewording would have done the trick.
Gruul Shock Instant Gruul Shock deals 3 damage to target creature. Bloodthirst 3(If another player was dealt damage this turn, put 3 +1/+1 counters on target creature you control.)
Limiting the ability to just creatures seems a little restrictive, especially when there is no real reason why it couldn't have been included on other card types.
Thanks! I almost feel dirty right now. Like I somehow dealt dishonestly with my shop. Oh well, I overpaid by a dollar or two for a playset of Erayo, so that should balance things out some.
-- Sorry to see both Bel and Angel leaving the clan. Hopefully this will be the last of clan member exodus for a while.
-- I'm all in favor of letting Mike into our clan.
-- I was able to pick up another playset of Life from the Loam this afternoon before my local shop became aware of their sudden spike in price. $12 for the set.
"Oct 1, 2005 - If an additional combat phase has been created, you may, if you choose, play Master Warcraft after attackers have been declared during the first combat phase but before attackers have been declared during the second one."
I take that to mean you have to choose all attacking/blocking creatures for the turn at the time Master Warcraft resolved. I'm not a rules guru though, so I could easily be mistaken.
My group has no such freedom with decks. In fact there are some very strict house rules in effect at all times when we play. Some of these rules include the banning of all cards considered to be "global regression" (Armageddon, Wake of Destruction, Upheaval...), a strict even numbered team format, and the inability to directly target your own partner with an adverse effect (i.e.can't force partnet to discard). Also from time to time certain cards will be banned if found to be too powerful or annoying (Mindslaver, Forgotten Ancient).
The only real house rule we have that I like is the "global regression" rule. Casting Upheaval in a three on three game is not cool. The rest of the rules suck, but I've gotten used to them. Thankfully I still can play "normal" Magic with my wife, or my best friend when he drops by to visit.
Wish I still could drive down to the local store and drop inside for a few games, but over the last several years the local Magic community has pretty much dried up. The store will hold booster drafts from time to time, but that's it. No Standard or Extended formats.
And no, in my particular group Fires.dec would not be considered cheating. The opposting team always runs complementary decks (teams never change), and one of them is almost always some sort of lock/infinite engine style deck.
Not to jump topics but...
I was just browsing your site R_E. Why did you choose a blue site layout? The black text on a darker blue background makes the site somewhat hard to read. And shouldn't you have chosen a green themed layout? You are Called afterall.
Yes, because Magic uses no imagination whatsoever, to expose the pretend worlds and rendition of pretend monsters, and pretend objects, and pretend spells.
Not the best topic to be insulting in any way by calling it "pretend".
You obviously don't know R_E at all. The comment was meant to be sarcastic, and a little tongue-n-cheek. He's about the last person that would insult the game.
He never came back. I told him smoking would kill him.
Doh! Some work related issues came up that prevented me from finishing the post last night. It was probably for the better though.
All I planned on talking about was the fact that I had my Magic group over on Saturday, and as anticipated all of my guild block decks had their butts handed to them. Out of the four only the Selesyna guild put up a decent fight. Oh well. Wasn't the best of nights for me Magic wise. Even my beloved Ninjas lost. I had to go old school and break out my Fires deck in order to win a game.
Same here Kristina. Never could understand the allure of collecting hundreds of the same Magic card. There has to be something to it though, right? I mean Crazed Mike does it, and unless something changed Alex still collects Suntail Hawks. Is it for the artwork, sentimental value or just because it is something kind off the wall to do? Perhaps an intimidation factor? Like you must be a very serious Magic player to have collect three thousand Suntail Hawks!?
Edit: Space reserved for additional subject in post. Will resume after a short cigarette break.
I made a request like a week ago for a sub-forum for single card discussions. Not a single response from a mod or admin on this. Any chance this could be considered?

Forget you guys! Some clan indeed!
I know what you guys can be called.
I'm sure this post will be deleted.
