Bummer about the crap rare pulls Jonny. I know how frustrating and disappointing that can be. I went through that same experience back when Homelands was first released. Only difference being that you pulled jank rares and I pulled...Homelands.
*Damn that set sucked*
I can also sympathize with your card store situation. I have a similar problem at my store. Even though the owner does give me great deals on packs and boxes, his single card prices tend to be greatly inflated. We're talking $7 for a Boutinous Kirin! Thankfully he is now relying on findmagiccards.com for his new single prices, so the prices are becoming more and more reasonable.
*Tawnos wishes other stores in his area weren't so dedicated to Yugioh. Damn those blasted twelve year olds. Damn them to hell!*
Ri - Am I done mourning? I have NO IDEA what you are referencing with that. Sometimes you almost have your own language - Rionics. "Tawnos, are you done mourning yet?" translates from rionics to english as "Tawnos, that was a jolly good prank you pulled on me chap! After we finish our raped tea what say you we go find those ninjas and give them a bloody thrashing?"
Err...I was going somewhere with that, but I think I got lost along the way.
R_E - I'm completely against illicit drugs of any kind. I'm against prostitution as well, but not from a moral standpoint. More of a "if I can't get it for free then I don't deserve to get it at all" outlook on life. I wouldn't object to legalising it though in a control manner, similiar to how Nevada operates.
I'd actually prefer we have a main forum for single card discussions, similiar to how we have forums for the different formats, and then have the new card discussion sub-forum moved over from the Rumor Mill. That is where the new card discussion sub-forum really belongs, not in the Rumor Mill.
Any chance we can add a single card strategy sub-forum to the General Strategy forum? I noticed we don't have a sub-forum for individual card discussion at all.
Dang I love this clan! Someone makes a reference to drugs and cheap hookers, and everyone picks up and runs with the joke without even blinking an eye! And to think that for a moment I was worried the joke might have offended someone!
Ri, remember those Oath of Druids you picked up for me last year? I still have them in sleeves, unplayed!
I'm lifting this idea directly from another message board I frequent.
I want to hear your opinions on why this card is good, bad or just plain awful. Is this card comprable to another, older card? If so which is the better card, and why?
I'm looking to score some illegal drugs, and perhaps pick up a prostitute or two. That second one is a maybe, it all depends on how much they are charging.
He has now invaded the Wizards forums! The 2005 Danny Cheung tour de force just keeps on rolling.
In honor of Danny Cheung we need to create an Salvation Forum award in his honor.
The Danny Cheung Award - Awarded to the member with the best high post count to low relevance of post ratio. Heck we could even take it a step further if we truly want to honor Mr. Cheung - the winner of this word can become honorary co-owner of Salvation for a week!
We call him Tim around here...because he looks exactly like this guy Tim we know...the likeness is almost creepy.

There is one, and only one, Tim in Magic. And Bob ain't him.
I've been running a playset of Bobs in my casual Dimir guild deck. I don't run the Top in this deck, but I do run a set of Lurking Informants. Those function just as well with Bob. Overall a good card, but it needs an emergency escape route when the life loss starts to get a little crazy.
There hasn't really been an appropriate opening for this so far, but I think it fits here: the flavour of the Rakdos Cult sucks. I think R/B is the least appropriate colour combination for a cult, as they're both the enemy of the colour most aligned to fanatacism: White. Black only cares about itself, and Red wouldn't see the point in sitting around discussing everything. As for their goal of ... killing everyone in Ravnica ... What the heck is that? Why on Earth is that logical? Sorry, but I think this guild will be a total failure.
It is logical because black would love to feast on the death and decay armageddon would bring, and red would gorge themselves on the chaos it would bring. Make sense to me.
The decks are Ravnica exclusive. Any card that falls within the specific guild's two colors is eligible. So I have both mono and multi-colored cards in each deck. I tried to build each deck to try and maximize the full potential of each specific guild's mechanics. Also, each deck contained both legendary creatures of each guild.
See for yourself. In a guild vs. guild setting the Golgari are the absolute best. House Dimir? Pfftt...try to 'Glimpse the Unthinkable' against them. They'll wish they kept their eyes shut when a very large Golgari Grave Troll hits the board. *snicker**A mill deck against a recursion deck. How cute.**snicker*
Boros? They can be summed up the same way my wife tends to sum me up after a night of passion. They come out hard and fast, but tend to fizzle before they get the job is done. The Boros are very efficient at putting opposing creatures in the graveyard, but the problem they face with the Golgari is keeping them there.
The Selesnya. Ah, now here is a worthy challenge. Unlike the other two guilds, the Selesnya tend to grow considerably stronger as the game progresses, similiar to the Golgari. These games tend to come boil down to whether or not the Selesnya can generate more creatures than the Golgari can reanimate.
Uh...don't know where all that came from. Damn I must be really loving this set! Maybe I'll write an article for Salvation on my little "Guild Wars."
C'mon now! Overwhelm isn't that bad! It was designed to fill a niche in a specific guild - Selesnya. In the right guild build it can be easier to cast than Overrun. The guild also can produce a mass amount of tokens in a considerably short amount of time, so is trample really all that important?
Speaking of guild decks, I've been spending the last two nights playing a tweaking decks for all four guilds. So far the Golgari have proven to be the undisputed champions! They have yet to lose a match, and I've played countless matches with them. Dredge is just too damn powerful.
(Let me also point of the fact that I am a complete boob for initially omitting Life from the Loam from my original Golgari build. That card just rocks in a Dredge deck!
Following the Golgori would be Selesnya and then Boros. Coming in a dead last would be House Dimir. Transmute, while cool and all, is just too damn slow compared to the other three guild mechanics.
*Damn that set sucked*

Sell me on Light of Sanction.
What are you talking about Ri???? I was just joking! You didn't have to out your source! Alex I am soooo sorry about that. Ri misunderstood.
Does anyone know where I can score these things?
