but yes.. i agree with you people.. there's no fun in a 2-3 turn kill..
i mean.. there's no strategy in that.. at least not an amazing one cause everywhere on the 'net you'll find decks like "yours/his/hers" (those kind of decks lack of authenticity.. hence i doubt they're original creations.. little tweaks but overall the same formula) and that's why i prefer casual over tournament.. at least there the amount of copycats/netdeckers is lower..
but.. on the other hand.. i'm glad that wotc every once in a while takes risks and releases cards like ravager and others.. they should do that more often..
maybe:
creatures put into your hand via soulshift are put into play instead..
of course the wording is a mess but i think that's what fiskinator meant... and it's possible.. i mean.. if they can ignore/twist the legends rule with a couple of cards.. why not change a bit a mechanism that probably won't see much play beyond kamigawa??
still.. i would like it to be a beater rather than something trickier.. for such an over priced card.. to rely on other spells.. i mean.. it's hard to cast.. for being a card that can't win on it's own?? with reciprocates, revenges, sickenings and rends around.. that won't be wizards' brightest idea.. not that they had lot's of them recently
well.. honestly i hope that it has nothing to do with the current spiritcraft theme.. i mean.. soulshift wasn't exactly a good thing.. spirit cards used in CoK where mostly ones that had little to do with the spirit affinity thing.. kokusho.. north tree.. among others.. so please don't waste such a promising and expensive card (without considering the gold slot) trying to revive the already unpicked soulshift thing.. look at the last kodama they used.. maybe reality finally hit them about spiritcraft and that's the sad reason they decided to remove the missing 2 kodamas.. i'm gonna miss them..
not that spirits are bad creatures.. neither **all** off them where poorly designed.. the thing IMHO is that they tried so hard to design around spiritcraft and that was what made the mechanism and some of the final cards turn bad..
Oh my god, I might not know any cards before the set is released. I'm trying not to worry, but... <calm down, breathe>... OK, don't panic, I can handle it... <gasp> Oh, Christ, my being is invalidated!
Give me a break.
roflmao!!!
well.. being serious..
the truth is.. that many readers were going to buy it for the SoK news.. or at least that was the idea.. now they'll loss some of the not so loyal readers... (i would've said "myself included" but i'm still interested cause.. think you already guessed.. i'm an elder scrolls fan)
and i won't exactly die due the lack of leaks but that kind of info is useful for many of us in different ways..
some will start thinking of strategies for the PR events.. block constructed and the other formats.. johnnies are a big part of this group...
some of us will start considering trading choices.. collectors would start looking forward for reprints.. foils.. PR foils.. or certain kind of creatures they collect.. or certain cards they know will be highly costed in the near future.. so this kind of info gives them an edge in the trading biz..
and others.. just for plain curiosity :biggrin3:
so i won't exactly die.. but i'll certainly miss it if there're no early previews this season
well.. my copy will take another week to arrive.. two tops.. currently thinking using the elementalist as basic.. and still considering between mesmer, necro or hunter as the second..
btw.. anybody got the collector's ed.?? is it worthy??
as things are looking right now.. i won't like this set..
i mean.. what kept me looking forward was the remaining two kodamas.. but now.. what's left? no kodamas.. no o-kagachi.. no "mochi"
i thought that the remaining kodamas would be the good ones.. considering that the north one was the best kodama available.. but now.. it would be the only good one out.. this is trully a masques block..
-somehow depict the ghost soldiers (the descriptions remind me plenty of scourge's daru soldiers)
-they show at least terashii (it's a long shot but i keep my hopes somewhat high) or mochi.. cause they're leaving out many other stronger ones like the all consuming oni of chaos and the great old serpent..
if they succeed in the second part.. making them useful and not weaklings or ridiculously overpriced.. i'll be happy regardless the quality of everything else on the set
It looks renaissance-like. Where is the pic... *searches* Ah! Here you can see the information we've been given, including a pic. Now that I look at it again it distinctly looks like a nice mixup of medieval, gothic, greek, and roman styles. I see temples and city walls, a (certainly not medieval) bridge and a lot of towers and hight buildings! Oh, and it seems to stretch out beyond the horizon'. It's big! The article seems to hint that there are more cities though, but not with much of a wilderness in between... Interesting!
looking at the pic.. seems that the only thing left in the plane are the seas.. everything else is city covered.. so again probably no woods or wild areas anywhere only that in hidden places.. shrines perhaps (just like in mirrodin lore that appears in viridian lorebearers.. some people in rav who remembers a time where the plane wasn't city covered)..
and.. cause the plane seems to be overpopulated.. or at least heavily populated hence it being completely city covered.. maybe there're cities under that sea too.. what makes people choice of merfolk possible.. maybe two kinds of merfolk.. one more human-like.. magic oriented.. and another more naga like.. warrior oriented

well.. dunkova somehow sounds czech or something related
iirc
tomatto lettuce bacon
earth fire water
ctrl alt del
snap crackle pop
maybe i'm wrong.. usually happens
