I just don't understand how they can print crap rares like Skarrg Goliath and then turn around and print uncommons like Rampager. One will cause utter disappointment and frustration to see in a pack where the lesser will cause joy.
Gee golly. I am suuuuuuuuuper excited for this in my UG delver deck. Yeah instant speed planeswalkers
Aren't planeswalker's abilities at sorcery speed? Sure you could flash him/her in, but you still can't use any of his abilities so what does it matter. Please let me know if I'm wrong here.
Akroma is an absolutely abominable example since the entire POINT of Angel of Fury was that she was an alternate reality version of Wrath.
That was more of an example of how card art sometimes does indicate/coincide with card color. It was the first obvious red angel card that I could think of. I'm not trying to say anything about lore here. Sorry if I implied something that I wasn't trying to.
THat red/white angel will go great with my green/white Elspeth...
Not only is Art a poor indicator of a card's color, you seem to have overlooked Angel of Flight Alabaster who is a red headed monowhite angel.
The angels of Innistrad are monowhite. They are aligned with the humans. There is no indication that they'd be anything but monowhite.
I dont think OPs suggestion is as far fetched as you imply either though. First off Flight Alabaster is dressed all in white, which implies mono white.
Look at Akroma
Mostly White Akroma Akroma, Angel of Wrath = White
Mostly Red Akroma Akroma, Angel of Fury = Red
The 2nd angel is dressed in White with some Red, I'm not saying shes RW, but it is a possibility. Its not that far fetched to think that we might see some enemy color gold creatures with AVR. I would welcome a RW angel myself, especially if it was low costed like RW1
You cannot gain a spark (barring super-artifacts of doom like Memnarch's Spark transfer device or Deus Ex Machina Wintermute-ing), you are either born with one or not. However, I would only be half surprised to find out she does have one and it ignited during the Helvault events.
There was already a tweet about this I believe, and it said any planes walkers in AVR are completely new characters no existing ones.
lol I can just imagine the look on my pregnant wife's face as I walk in with a several foot tall rock statue. I'm sure a "WTF is that? and I hope you find the couch comfy...." would result.
My LGS said the Helvaults would contain "108 pieces of swag" And while I cringed at the word swag, apparently the items inside are going to be the best promotion ever. Not really sure how you can top the zendikar treasure promotion but I guess we'll see. At the very least I want them to be useable, I'd be so pissed if I opened it up and it was a damn sorin key chain, or a liliana wallet.
By my count should be 216 pieces if that link posted earlier is accurate
I can say there are three types of items and with 54 players you'll be able to give each of them 1 of item A, 2 of item B, and 1 of item C.
There's a lot of pages here, but doesn't it seem like Avacyn will be somewhat similiar to Angel of Despair?
I am in the black-white camp
I was kinda in the BW camp too, but if her name is gonna be "Avacyn, Angel of Hope" I got a really hard time seeing her as anything other than mono-white. Too bad, deep down I really wanted her to be RW.
It would be really cool if they added a vertical and horizontal mega-cycle for some different tribes.
They should do it like -
Common - A cycle of "Banneret" type cards. i.e., something that lowers casting cost.
Uncommon - A cycle of enchantments that have an effect like Intangible Virtue but replacing "tokens" with a creature type, and "vigilance" with characteristic static ability.
Rare - 5-drop "Fatties" of each creature type. Perhaps they'd gain +1/+1 for each creature of their type in your graveyard or on your side of the field or something.
Mythic - 4-drop lords that pump your creatures for one and do something free and valuable like create tokens on upkeeps/discard opponent's cards/return cards from graveyards/tutor creatures/whatever fits.
The Tribes I'd chose would be:
Knights
Rogues
Devils
Lhurgoyfs
Wizards
I just don't want to see 4 drop pseudo titan tribal lords at mythic level. When I first made my illusions deck for M12 before the image went to stupid amounts of money, I built the whole thing for maybe $30-40, and was quite happy with it. It was fun to play a tribal deck again. Having to shell out $150 just for 4 mythics to make a tribal deck playable is not fun whatsoever.

54 X 4 items = 216

That would be so imbalanced its really not even funny.
