Your opponent has chalice of the void set for 4 and your sneak attack got disenchanted, and he is at 13 life. So you Lava Spike his dome and splice on a little through the breach for a kokushu, smash face, and then he dies to the sacrifice.
You're all forgetting on every important thing: Red pwns all...
seriously tho, it does seem as though blue has gotten a little bit of a boost, since the only thing's it really has going for it flavor-wise is big fliers and counterspells, both of which aren't really seen in abundance anymore...
I'm replacing my simulacrum since hearth kami is sideboard for me. In my area there isn't a ravager metagame so artifact hate isn't a big concern. Most people here either play monored (ponza or Big Red) or a tooth and nail Variant.
The urn's mana will be added to his pool regardless of whether or not the cannon is in play. Since the amount of mana added is not calculated until resolution of the ability anyway, it doesn't matter whether he does it during upkeep or main phase, he will still have the same amount of mana and the same options regarding what to do with it.
I am honestly very seriously considering replacing solemn with the mogg fanatic reprint when it comes out in BoK. It will be a great 1 drop that will suffice when you can't pull off that first turn slith. (which i usually do but hey...)
Or, you could just shatter it during his upkeep and avoid all the confusion that would come from responding to an ability that produces mana (just in case he wants to dispute you)
Simulacrum isn't the best creature in the deck, but it has it's place. there aren't as many lands in the deck which means that if you make it to 4, you might be missing number 5 needed to bring out the big guns, plus it is one of the few cards available to red that gives a search or a draw, let alone both. I've magma jeted my own simulacrum in games before to great effect cuz you get to pick what card you draw. You also get a decent chump blocker thet will make an opponent hesitate more to attack, because who wants to give their opponent a card just to kill a 2/2?
And the best thing of all, it makes the choice a lot easier on what to side out to make room for other stuff between games. :smile01:
Dingus egg has several probelms... First, it's kindof expensive and doesn't really help things all that much. The expensive cards in Ponza are the slogger and kumano, and they both have the advantage of being 5cc, meaning they can be brought out with a song as early as turn 1 or 2, too a much greater effect than mana burning for 1 to get out the egg. Plus, what would they take out?
My Ponza deck looks like this, and it's been pretty successful for me so far, because it not only has many of the elements necessary to take down most top tier decks, but it holds in own in terms of mirror matches as well.

I don't know why this says Anonymous because i posted it, but i will ask again:
