Even though vinelasher kudzu and wee dragonauts are consider Gro cariations. this card is more similar to the original dryad:

i think this can be used in a gro (ish) varaiation for T2 constructed maybe in a gifts deck or something or just in a 4 color control deck with U draw and G acceleration
IMO aggro-control is the way to go. the council should be the core of the deck because is a well costed 4/4 than can drain some life and with an ability to avoid almost any form of removal, so maybe from cheap creatures with disruption, confidant and the council can be made a good standard deck.
with the recent swich of wreck havoc´s casting cost theres a void in gruul beatdown decks (or the idea of them) GRw has been considered for lighting helix and hierarch; however i think that white´s addition doesnt solve the main problem of the gruul deck without land destrucción which is arguable card drawing (or any form of CA) dark confidant solves this for just one color spash and goes well with the beatdown strategy. i dont have a decklist but thats the less imporant thing, the main thing is wheather gruul can take tha damage from confidant in order to maintain pressure and if the black is too much to splash. Anyway what do you think??
4 cc. Since there's so many usefull 4 cc creatures in R/G already, even without Solifuge... I'd prefer the vinilla to be 4 mana, then the 5 mana one might be, say... 6/6 with trample, or something... *shrugs* Maybe trample and untargetability, considering KotNT, though that's probably just the 'dissapointed that Solifuge sucks' part of my brain thinking. :tongue3:

Actually, I hope it is a 4 cc... for that exact reason.
r/g's already got a 3 mana creature that's decently powerful and lacks trample... 2 4 mana creatures in the same boat (with the demise of Solifuge as a useful creature), and can splash for another 4 mana creature... still without trample. Since the 4-mana slot is definitely taken by now... I'm hoping for a serious 5 mana creature that's good, and actually has trample. Maybe even another good ability or two.

might be a good idea
and yes sensei top is a good addition it goes well with land tutoring that this creatures needs and it can grow this guy in a a turn for the win
