How has the Deathbringer Thoctar been for everyone who's included them in their decklists? It's an interesting idea and since there's a plethora of eldrazi token generators in this set, I can see how it's appealing.
However, since removal has been a main focus in this meta it appears to be a lackluster investment for 6 mana.
Usually, in my WW decks, I tend to drift toward creatures that have a CIPT ability such as broodmate dragons, Avenger of Zendikar, and Siege-gang commander(to give multiple threats and most importantly, more permies).
Bogardan hellkite is quite expensive in cost but it has many benefits such as getting rid of threats, direct damage, and the flash ability comes in handy in certain situations.
What I'm trying to get at is it looks like it has good interaction with the new cards from RoE but from a practical standpoint, it's lacking. However, I would love to hear from people who have actually tested it in their WW since I'm just speculating after reading the deathbringer's ability for the first time.
A simple question, when Siege-Gang Commander comes into play, can my opponent in response Lightning Bolt the commander to prevent the tokens from entering play?
Wow so many cards in Eldrazi I want to test in the Warp World deck.
I'm not sure what this Google Wave discussion is but can I be added to it? I have a google wave account so I may not need an invite, just need to know how to join the discussion.
Any idea if Elspeth will drop like a stone when it's rotated out? I don't believe it sees play in extended much, only in legacy.
Also, anyone thinks that she'll be reprinted in m11? Which will also drop her value just like all the other walkers that were reprinted in m10. It feels like no matter what, her value is going to drop.
Was always a bit confused ever since m10 came out but if I attacked with a Goblin Lackey and someone declares that he'll block with a llanowar elves, when I respond by killing it with a cycled Gempalm Incinerator does my goblin go through?
There are some instances, I have been informed that since blockers are declared, even if the defending creature dies to my spell, my creature will not go through.
If this point is true, when is the proper time to cast removal? Pre-combat I assume?
Just letting y'all know, Karakas is hitting 30 at SCG. You guys use it the most, so I figured I'd ask you: why? It's a fairly niche card; is it being used to stop Iona?
Well they bounce Marit Lage tokens as well. Karakas is one of the best answers against legendary creature threats.
Wow, coandco I'm glad to see Warp World discussion hasn't died.
Well to be honest I haven't tried including any of the Worldwake cards into my deck list but I intend to very soon and hopefully everyone can give me some advice.
This is my current deck list, it is always either 3-1 or 4-0 in my local FNM (usually against RDW, vampires, jund, bant). It's a University-held FNM so the quality of decks/players may not be as high as going to the most popular store in town but they're still decent nonetheless.
Lavaclaw Reaches: Lots of manas? Chaaaaarge! Seriously, late game + cleared board - open for business.
Raging Ravine: A more dependable manland that can grow overtime. However, the problem with both man lands is you'd probably want to use your mana for other important ramp spells / to cast fatties. And even if you opt to use the manland instead, you won't have that stable blocker that can protect you and prolong the game for your warp. It's more offensive than defensive. I would rather use the mana for other things. And by the time, I've cast all my spells and can use the manlands, the board may be at too much of a standstill for me to want to attack with the manlands.
Everflowing Chalice: Looks interesting, can I multikicker off cascade? I do believe so just need confirmation.
Avenger of Zendikar: Looks like a beast, I can't wait to get my hands on this bad boy
Garruk Wildspeaker: I've tested it before pre worldwake in our previous WarpWorld thread. Although the few times I drew it, I wished I could've drawn or searched for Warp World instead (see Liliana) or deal with a threat promptly i.e. Vampire Nocturnus, something Garruk may not be able to deal with when flying (see Chandra). But I'll give it a try again.
I'll be doing some testing against combo but white has a lot of great cards in that matchup:
orim's chant
angel's grace
children of korlis
true believe
runed halo
But I would definitely want to test out chalice since putting it at 0 would make it one of the fastest answers to combo and most reliable.
Quite surprised at the price jump of karakas lately, like Finn said, I hope you guys got all your copies already.
From 12-15 a piece, they've jumped to what? 30-40?
How's stoneforge been for you? Well, that goes for everyone. I'm not sure if I should get my hands on them or not. But I really want to try putting a jitte in the deck to include the swords of fire and ice etc for the protection.
When do you side in enlightened tutors btw?
I've never asked you before but what is the main reason you include BFT? Simply for dredge? And possibly red decks (burn etc?)
Dargaud, I do not recommend that one. The sb was a hack job to see what I could get away with. As colo mentioned, gy hate used to be an afterthought as we simply had Stonecloaker (and Grunt, and for awhile Samurai of the Pale Curtain). And I am afraid it has gone this long since I bothered to get my sb in order since the changes. Here's again, an update.
Note that I am going back to 3 Wastelands. I kinda figured this would happen. I think we still need 11 Plains. This sb is superior imo, as it has entire other areas that it protects while retaining 10 slots for combo hate. In short, there are cards to bring in against a wider variety of opponents. The Burrentons in the main are a sore spot for me. I would much rather prefer a card with wider application. And I would if Zoo weren't so big. That imo is THE contentious spot.
Children of Korlis would be nice.
Isamaru is occasionally the better choice.
I could even see a good argument for extra removal.
Wow mox diamond! A quick question, think the original mox diamonds will see a decline in price then? With more supply, it sounds like that would happen.
Looking back at FTV exiled... it did drop berserk's price but mox diamond is definitely no where near it in price or rarity.

Was wondering what would happen if both my opponent I sacrifice creatures from Pox while I have Xx copies of Bridge from Below in my graveyard?
Would I..
a) get tokens before the bridge gets removed
b) not get tokens and bridge gets removed?
Thanks
P

Is it because its one of the best answers against Reanimator's iona? And for appearing in GP Indy's 43 Land?
Well it's a staple in Death and Taxes but it's not like it's been showing solid results lately.
What's going on?
