Since Living Woods is nearly impossible to remove, how about this
Living Woods :2mana::symg::symg::symg:
Enchantment
All Creatures are now Forests. (They gain the type Land and the subtype Forest. They are no longer creatures. They can be tapped for mana) Sacrifice 3 lands you control: Destroy Living Woods. Any player may play this ability Each Tree bore a look of calm rage. And occasionally, one moved.
As for the combat, I always imagined that the creatures wouldn't be removed. I mean, what do you do if the goblin in front of you is turned to wood? Burn him, of course!
And in that light, I present
Sweeping Fires :xmana::xmana::symr::symr:
Sorcery
Destroy X target lands. Add to your mana pool for each land destroyed this way. As soon as they found a way to use the forestfires to power their engines, Mishra's engines became the most fearsome force on the island.
EDIT: Bumped up mana cost, made a sorcery. More fair now?
Oh, and also

Each tree bore a face, tortured, and yet, somehow, calm.
Time for face smashery....and wurm tokens.
Question-Do I get flavor points if I enchant something created from Roar of the Wurm with this? Can Wurms get more wurmy?
Overall, its good to fill two more spots on the spoiler....
If only the wurm-chant had trample
I question the usefulness of Life from the Loam It feels like you could get better use out of those two slots, such as adding the Drooling Groodions you so desperately need. I might also go with a couple Golgari Brownscales, because they can recoup some of that life loss from the elves.
The thing you have to ask yourself with dredge is whether or not you want the dredged card more than those Putrefys you keep losing. You have to be willing to risk it if you do
So, at first I misread tangleroot, thinking it was whenever a creature comes into play. Whoops. Anyway, now I've got 4 spots open in the deck. I"m looking for less expensive cards, and altough stuff like chrome mox and necropotence would be nice, I'm just not that rich.
I'm also hesitant about using Boseiju because I'm precarious enough on life as it is. My only ways to gain life back are spoils of evil, which is very conditional, and Consume Spirit which should end games. All my life is needed for the times when I'm getting 7 more saprolings and I've got two Carnival of souls in play.
So, my friends and I recently did a reject rare draft, and walked away with both Carnival of Souls and Blood Funnel. I was challenged to find a use for both of these cards, and this is what I came up with.
Obviously, the goal is to keep around enough mana for a couple giant Consume Spirits to end it, along with a token bum rush. Any thoughts, comments, concerns?
Woo.
Turn One-Mountain, Kird Ape
Turn Two-Forest, Gruul Guildmage?, some small bloodthirst guy?
Turn Three-Smashy Smashy.
Bloodlust enabler from here to eternity for 3 lands. Fine by me
In the reminder text for promise, you don't say why the cost exists in the first place. Now, I assume you mean something like "Promise - Cost (Cost, Discard this card: for each colored mana symbol in this card's mana cost, add one mana of any of that symbol's colors to your mana pool. Play this ability only any time you could play a instant.) There's an important difference there.
Other than that, I like. Spirit Guides for all.
Oh, and do :symb::symb::symb: promise cards add :symb::symb::symb:, or just :symb:?
Okay, I add to a card, give it +2/+3, trample, and untargetablity....Okay. Now, its out of the range of most varieties of burn, -X/-X, and can't be pacified. At least Platinum Angel could be killed on occasion. Why not just make an artifact that says When ~ comes into play, you win the game. Because thats what you're going for here. The legendaryness is just icing on the cake

A horse is a horse, of course, of couse.
Hmmm, I think I need a shave.

Remove target creature from the game. At end of turn, return it to play under its owner's control and it deals damage equal to its power to another target creature or player. Gruk liked his unexpected vacation. He did not, however, like using his friends as a cushion for his return.

When Izzet Arsonist comes into play, it deals 3 damage to target creature or player, and you may draw up to 2 cards.

Umm, didn't they print this already? Didn't it cost more? Did it have some name like Scythe of the Wretched?
All jokes aside, this card feels wierd. I never liked the flavor here of requiring damage to be dealt to the reanimated creature. Why can't it be :"At the end of each turn, chose one creature card in a graveyard and return it to play under your control, attaching Necromancer's Teachings to it"?
Aside from that flavorful nitpicking, I like it a lot.

Right now, too weak, by a lot
