For our local prerelease we ran out of WWK packs (TO decided to do packs of WWK only, no Zendikar) so the prizes were not anything worth celebrating. With that in mind I decided to have fun with it so this is the deck I built (steered it to a 2-2 record)...
So... yeah, fun to play and not hard to get. I imagine it will be a better deck to try in draft and with the availability of Hedron Crab in standard it will be something that can be played in mono-blue (Selective Memory will help it too) for standard. Not great deck and certainly not the best deck I ever played but it was fun to pull off in a sealed event.
It's a constructed combo deck... in limited...
OP said he pulled it off in his sealed pool with only 3 WWK packs, but what about the implications of this in Triple WWK draft...
The only difficult card to get is probably Tideforce Elemental, as its a really good uncommon, but the other key pieces seem easy to get.
So from the looks of it, most people would pick her P1P1 because its a) worth alot or b) good chance of being very powerful.
However, alot of times I see her Pack 2 or Pack 3, so how would you evaluate her from there? (Once again, ignore her money value, its a rare redraft draft).
I am at 10 and have a Blood Seeker equipped with Adventuring Gear and a Crypt Ripper (both tapped). Opponent is at 1 and has an Oran Rief Survivalist with 1 counter on it. If he plays a creature he dies.
He draws for the turn and plays Mark of Mutiny on my Blood Seeker. He then plays a land and Harrow, and kills me. If I hadn't tapped out I could have played Narrow Escape on my Adventuring Gear, but no I had to pump my Shade a little bit.
Sorry, but you got scammed. Adventuring Gear doesn't give the creature the ability. It only triggers when the controller of the Gear plays a land.
I know what the core of the deck is, but not quite sure what to run in the last 6 since there are so many options. Also is this an 18 land deck (3 fetches)?
Went to the local Trade/collector show this weekend, and it was crazy how much Zendikar product now costs compared to a year ago, or even compared to M10.
Prices have inflated nearly 50%.
Shards of Alara
Booster: $2.50
Booster Box: $85
Fatpack: $24
I used to be able to save up enough money to buy a box every release, but now its getting way to costly.
Btw, Can we get another update? The PTQ season officially started last weekend, and there was also the Starcity 5K Standard Event. Is there enough data yet?
I don't think you ever want to run the Kamigawa Uncommon Duals ever, the drawback of not untapping is too harsh to be worth it IMO, especially when there are better lands out there. (but if you must, this cycle is a functional reprint from Tempest; Thalakos Lowlands)
PT Format is Zendikar Booster Draft and Extended Constructed which would have just been released in RL just 2 weeks before, so you would be just as new to the limited portion as anyone else.
However, I really recommend getting started as soon as you can so go the pre-release events and buy a box or two to draft with. Also, be familiar with official PT Level draft formalities, like called picks and what not.
I'm running Jund splash W/U for Oblivion Ring and some Bombs
My opponent is running Naya splashing some UB for some off color bombs.
I win game game 1 pretty briskly off the power of my deck and its rares (I opened 8 rares and ran all but 2 of them)
So game 2... He mulligans down to 5 and keeps, but drops nothing but lands, obelisk and maybe a chumper blocker or 2. I took advantage of this and start getting in some beats and drop him down to 2 by turn 6. His next turn however.... He plays his 8th mana source and drops Sphinx of the Steel Wind
I stare at my board of R/G creatures, my TWO Slave of Bolas in hand (freaking hybrid red spell), and literally face-palmed.
I can't race him because Lifelink & First Strike means he does gain life even in a suicide attack and I procede to lose that game after not drawing any answers in 4 turns...

What do you think? A feasible strategy?
I know the market is flooded with Zendikar right now, so prices are at an all time low...
But once we get to Rise of the Eldrazi and stop drafting/opening Zendikar (and Worldwake for that matter) do you think things will pick back up?
Also, can we get an update before the Prerelease?
JW... but how creature dense does the deck have to be for Beast Hunt to be considered?

Interesting Pool?
How would you build it, cause I certainly didn't.
White has some good aggro creatures, but doesn't look like it has enough reach.
Blue is sick good, but there's only 3 good creatures.
Red & Black is deep but the creature's aren't that impressive (contrasted with the amazing spells)
Green is very meh, but it does have fixing for it and in it.

SCG has them priced at 10$ each, is that fair?

I've been looking around to find prices, but the card seems to fluctuate anywhere from $5 to $20.
Anyone have a better quote?
