WOTC, **** off. This is exactly what you SHOULDNT be doing.
You'll get over it. With such a miniscule print run, the Commander's Arsenal version won't significantly affect the price. It'll still be worth over 100$ - easily.
Why do people pay/trade an arm and a leg for cardboard with pictures on them.
Why does anyone do anything in life? We're all going to die.
If you can't understand how a collector can derive satisfaction and happiness from cards, that's your problem.
I've been playing Magic for 18 years and I've been following the game online for about 15 years now.
For 15 years straight, every time a new set comes out, it's the same story. Every single set. The set "sucks" and "isn't worth buying a box". From Ice Age to Urza's Saga to Mirrodin to Zendikar, it's always been the same story.
If every set sucks so bad, It's amazing that anybody buys cards at all.
seeing as how AVR is a stand-alone set don't see that happening
AVR-AVR-AVR is the official format, but you do know that people draft for fun sometimes too, right? The other day we did a coldsnap-champions of kamigawa-zendikar draft just for the hell of it.
We'll probably do some INN-DKA-AVR drafts just for fun too.
Anyway, the miracle angel generator will find a nice home in my mono-white EDH Thanks Wizards
Cast Bruna.
Next turn, Traumatize on myself, mill half my library (~43 cards)
Swing with Bruna, attaching ~20 auras to her.
Swing with a 100/100 flying double strike haste lifelink deathtouch trample everythingwalk industructible hexproof creature that untaps all my lands when it attacks and brings me a hamburger with a side of fries.
This is a sweeper designed for aggro decks, not control decks.
I'd play this in a mono-black zombies deck against tokens, for instance.
1. Sweep for X=3 mid-late game keeping 2 swamps untapped.
2. The killing wave serves as an outlet for my Geralf's Messenger pinging opponent for 2 life.
3. I sacrifice two Gravecrawlers keeping another zombie (whichever) on the board.
4. I recast Gravecrawlers from the graveyard
5. Opponent chooses to sacrifice 6 creatures and pays 6 life to keep 2 creatures.
Net result:
- Did 2 damage to opponent (Messenger)
- Kept all my creatures on the board.
- Destroyed 6 opposing creatures.
- Dealt 6 damage (8 total).
If we evaluate that 6-8 damage is worth at least 1 card, for 4 mana and 3 life, we got 1-for-7 in card advantage/value. I'd say that's not bad.
TL;DR:
This card will have its uses, possibly in Zombies and other aggro/mid-range decks.
Yes, your opponent will always choose the least painful outcome, but if you play this card in a deck that renders all possible outcomes at least moderately painful, then you will get good value.
Personally, I'd love to see a 5-color planeswalker, although it seems highly unlikely.

My Ob-Nixilis deck is pleased.

:rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes:
Full board, stalemate... topdeck Burn at the Stake, tap 6 creatures, deal 18 damage for the win. Opponent: (╯°□°)╯︵ ┻━┻
How about +1'ing with Liliana of the Veil to discard Mishollow Griffin. Follow up with Surgical Extraction on the Griffin to basically draw 3 cards
Not exactly the play of the century in terms of power, but definitely fun fun fun
That's extremely unique! To me, that justifies the mythic rarity. This may very well be the only card that ever has this functionality.
Looks nice. Red human token is cool too.

Sounds like a plan
Harvester of Souls --> Cast Hellfire --> Draw tons

Griselbrand: Costs 8, draws you 7 cards (or more)
Mono-black EDH decks around the world just rejoiced.
