My local draft this week was Besieged-Besieged-Scars. I opened a foil Tezzeret, but went 0-3 in the draft. I think my deck was pretty good, but maybe I am missing something.
I went to my local pre-release today. Came in second place with a BGW infect deck. Games weren't all that exciting, steamrolled people until the top two game where I got decimated by Glissa, the Traitor and Phyrexian Crusader with Nim Deathmantle.
Sideboard was mostly hate for flyers, but I never ran into enough to put any of them in. For me, when I got poison, if I think the deck sucks (which I did), it ends up doing well. When I build one I think is good, they always lose a lot. Oh well/
This is a question that will probably never come up in an actual game of magic, but looking through some random cards I thought of it, and nobody could seem to give me an actual answer.
In old cards such as Priest of Yawgmoth, a card is discarded, not sacrificed. Now if I were to play R&D's Secret Lair, what would happen when I used the ability of the priest? Would I get free mana, and have the artifact stick around, or would the artifact get sacrificed anyway? Thanks for any answer you can give me in advance :).
You forget the fact that Azami can draw "as if it has haste" given the wording of the ability. Also, the fact that it is 1 more is a huge factor too.
There are many ways to give Arcanis haste, and I've never had trouble getting to six mana in my deck.
The "restriction" is not much of a restriction considering thenumberofgoodWizards in the format. Mind you, it is more of an artificial restriction since nowhere does Azami forbid you from playing good non-wizards creature -- they just have to be very good; a criteria you plan to use anyway.
The thing about my Arcanis deck is that it doesn't rely on other creatures. I barely run any at all. This allows me to run more control and mana ramp, making that extra 1 easier to get.
While drawing your deck is great, it is also unnecessary in my experience (I have played with both as my general at some point). For the one extra mana, it is just not worth it.
My deck wants to draw through the entire deck. I run 5- or 6-card combos, and it's hard to assemble them without good draw.
I have one, and I love it. Nothing beats him in card draw, and if you get Mind over Matter out then it is game over. Discard one to draw three? Just run some way to combo out if you get this combo, because it is hard to stop.

2) Oona, Queen of the Fae. I want to build an EDH mill deck, and she seems like the best bet for it.
3) Marrow-Gnawer. I like theme decks and rats seems like an interesting one to play.
