    Perhaps.
That can't be right (not in a morally right/wrong sense). How Suspicious...

Maybe it's my naivete, but is it at all pragmatic to have these maximum sentence lengths?

It's not correct. The Norway system has a maximum guaranteed sentence of 21 years. After that they conduct a review and can hold you for 5 years (until your next review) if you're still judged to be dangerous.

I have yet to test the Glimpse, but it seems so nice.

EDIT - And would you run a funky land or another Forest?

Are Priests really 5$ a piece? Wow! I'll sell you a playset for 20. Smile

And it pains me to say this, but I have to agree 14 lands is looking more and more like a hardship, barely. It almost works, and I don't want to overcommit on lands. I'm thinking maybe

    -4 Heedless One
    -4 Wellwisher
    +3 Glimpse of Nature
    +3 Elvish Archdruid
    +1 Forest
+1 Pendelhaven, Wirewood Lodge, or maybe just another Forest

    My Joraga's arrived! So excited.

As for the BG list, I still don't get why you aren't running an Elves of Dark Shadow or 2. You win before that little damage matters.

Maindecking both Caller and Oversold seems like a lot of sweeper hate, do you face lots in your meta?

Why? Seriously, I don't get the need for deathtouch'ers via Vanquisher and Packmaster that so many of these decks run.

    A. Plenty of decks aren't creature based
    B. How many decks can honestly block the Elven horde come turn 3 or 4 when you're winning?

And yea, like I said, Archdruid for Heedless is probably in the future.

Consider Elves of Deep Shadow, particularly if you're going for a more control'y build (Forest, Turn 1 EoDS gets you both an elf on the field and a source of black for your disruption so you can dedicate your mana production to the beatz side of things).

The Wellwishers are likely getting swapped for Glimpse.

Serra Ascendant is also worth remembering.

Diamond Valley may be better than Sanctum, but they are crazy expensive unless your buddies let you proxy.

Last but not least, Kabira Crossroads may be worth considering.

    protection.

    Damage is prevented
    Enchantments/equipment fall off
    Blockers cannot be assigned
    Targetting the creature is forbidden.

Trample will still go through since the damage to the creature is prevented, but assignment still went through (part to you and part to creature).

Right, Trampling doesn't "notice" that the protection will prevent the damage. A 6/6 Trampler in green only has to assign 1 damage to a 1/1 pro-green blocker to satisfy his "lethal damage" requirement and then assign the rest to you, even though that 1 ends up getting prevented.

Let me ask you guys, looking at a list like this:

What would you sideboard? I'm thinking 4 Zealots and 3-4 Eladmri to start, dunno what else. Maybe Caller of the Claw for board sweepers?

EDIT - And I've been playtesting (I got all the cards I was missing save the Joragas) and I have to admit the Heedless Ones are seeming semi-replaceable (and that's without the other win condition in Joraga, which will only make them more replaceable). Do you think -4 Heedless, +4 Archdruid would fit? A turn earlier, more mana production, Lord effect, it does seem like a nicer swap.

@Stax: really true, if symbiote was an elf, it'd be just amazing. And nice catch, Eladamri is better than Steely because it can be draw by our CA engines.

I was actually excited, didn't know he'd been errata'd to an Elf.

As for the Land Grant/ESG, it's nice, but ESG is massive card disadvantage (a card for a single mana, once) and Land Grant worries me (as all non-Elf cards in this deck do). I dunno. Sort of annoying that for all the green land tutors they didn't print a Tribal Elf sorcery/instant one.

I'm so sad that Wirewood Symbiote isn't an Elf. I agree Ranger is one of the best Elves, but Symbiote would be even better if not for that damn creature type.

Do you prefer Steely Resolve to Eladamri, Lord of Leaves, Asylum? I guess SR is harder to kill, but with errata Eladamri is an Elf which is nice (and of course, Forestwalk, whatever that's worth).

EDIT - And of course shroud stops Timberwatch, which sucks, but against some decks you need that protection.

    Forcemages >> Kamahl IMO.

And I must be missing something, because I do not get why everyone seems to like Vanquishers. Deathtouch is nice, and a 3/3 body for 2 is nice, but compared to other 2 drops?

Taking out the fact that with 14 lands you won't even be able to get out your first mana creature without mulliganing to infinite.

That's simply not true. At all.

For my part, I'm not a fan of running 4x Quirion Ranger. (I run 3.) With two or more on the board, you rarely want to use both their abilities as it will put a hurtin' on your land count. Splitting the slot with Wirewood Symbiote seems workable, but I'm wary of adding too many cards that get buried by Sylvan Messenger. Running full playsets of both seems, well... "too techy". However, running both for a total of 5 or 6 could be ideal. I'd like to test that out.

This I can understand. They can get a little useless when you've got too many going, but they are really crucial to the engine of the deck so you want to get SOME. Symbiote, though one of the few non-elves (sadly), lets you run Visionarys through him for a small draw engine, Sylvans for a bigger one, let Priest cast herself with Crossroads on the board for mega mana, etc, etc. And of course Ranger makes playing with low land so much easier. Maybe remove 1 or 2 of them for some Hivemasters or Bloodline Shammies or something?
