Unfortunate, but true. This is most probably too slow for constructed.
HOWEVER
This one might just find a home in W/x control variants. For that matter, it might just make it into monowhite Samurai Block decks, turning them into WW variants. In this case, Horoki would serve much the same purpose as Armageddon did in old-school WW.
r00teniy, did you happen to look at the other cards in :puke: 's post? They are blatantly fake, and I wouldn't be surprised if THIS one follows the pattern. It's a standard faker's tactic.
I believe two major things can be pulled from this.
The first is from the picture AKARAT is looking at. It looks like some kind of reanimation effect, maybe a reprint or functional reprint of Zombify.
The second is that Ink-Eyes will probably have a reanimation abilty on damaging your opponent. It will allow you to take a creature from their graveyard, MAYBE any graveyard.
Honestly, sometimes the fact that it is a 1-mana black Spirit is all that matters. I had plans for a mono-Black Aggro deck from about day 2 of the Champions partial spoiler going up, and all that kept me from doing it was a lack of a creature that fit that particular definition. Sometimes, the ability is incidental to its utility in a deck. My example is that I had a deck stuffed full of Spiritcraft, but didn't have a decent 1-drop.
Hmmm, this could be the top end of a B/g Spiritcraft/Soulshift deck I am planning for Kamigawa Block. With the new black 1-drop spirit, it makes for a full curve. Just as a rough start...
4x Bile Urchin
4x Wicked Akuba
4x Hana Kami
4x Thief of Hope
3x Horobi, Death's Wail
2x Kyoki, Sanity's Eclipse
3x Kokusho, the Evening Star
3x Sensei's Divining Top
4x Soulless Revival
4x Rend Flesh
4x Kodama's Reach
13x Swamp
1x Shizo, Death's Storehouse
5x Forest
1x Okina, Temple to the Grandfathers
I know it's nowhere near perfect, but this draft isn't intended to be. It's just to see what's generally possible with it.
We may all have missed something, here. Does anyone remember the MTG "Shadow Ops" article from a while back, the sample test to join RnD? I remember there being only one acceptable card there:
Twiddle Bug
Creature - Insect (C)
sac: Tap or untap target creature.
I believe that this may be the blue member of the cycle, just change the creature type and the name (although the name could conceivably stay the same).
I don't have the time at the moment to hunt it down in the WotC archives, but can someone bring it up?
This is scary... I can see the Patron being used in T1 and T1.5, in FCG decks. Just for reference, a Seige Gang Commander and one of its tokens can turn into a Patron of the Akki, if Food Chain is out. I have a friend that runs the deck, and I am NOT looking foreward to seeing THAT in the red zone.
~noname~ R
Enchant Mountain
2: Enchanted Mountain becomes a 6/1 creature until end of turn. It's still a land.
Whenever enchanted Mountain is put into a graveyard from play, return ~noname~ to your hand.
