  • posted a message on What Tribal Really Is.
In other words, Tribal can be a card type and never be a "standalone" one. Nothing in the rules requires a card type to be able to be the only type on a card. We may well never see a "Tribal - Goblin" card, and that would have no bearing whatsoever on whether "Tribal" can be a card type.

No, I don't mean that we will 'forget' what Magic is, I just think that huge changes are comming, one way or the other.

    I have a few reasons for suggesting this;

1.Future Sight is producing cards that I never thought I would see. Even if you assume that some Future Shifted cards are 'red herings', some of this stuff will see print again.

2.Lorwyn ((apparently)) has D&D references in it. Apparent Speculation indicates that this block will play with timing. (If this is Times of Day, Seasons of the year, or even Game Phases / Steps is beyond me)

3.The Color Pie is under constant adjustment

4.Tokens and Counters seem to be playing more of role.

5.Magic does seem to be playing with card frames a lot.

I stated in another post that the game is going to go sideways.

I think we are going to get a LOT of interesting, useless cards. The overall speed and tempo of the game appears to be on the fast track to slowing down immensely. Burn/Sligh will stay the same, but there will be answers for it.

In short, I feel SOMETHING will hit the game soon. It will have a learning curve, and alienate some players. I don't know yet If I will leave soon after this SOMETHING occurs.

Congratulations, you've discovered what makes Magic, Magic. The I started playing this game twelve years ago, and though I've been "off" for a couple of years due to lack of time & saving money, I still enjoy reading about the game and how it's been changing. (And I usually play a few MTGO games each release.)

It's the beauty of this game, that the rules framework allows such a wide variety of gameplay and encourages, even demands, pushing the game in different often not-so-obvious directions.

So whatever SOMETHING is going to happen, I think most players will embrace it, perhaps some less enthusiastically than others. And when that SOMETHING happens, if you want to leave, go ahead. Few will notice. Fewer will care.

Is anyone actually surprised that she's really still an Other? I thought that was the most likely conclusion from the outset, nothing else really made any sense whatsoever. It's almost disappointing that the story is becoming so predictable.

I was, but you probably think I'm gullible.

I didn't hear the last few seconds of the new ep well, the dialogue between Juliet and Ben, what did he ask her to do exactly?

Basically the whole thing about her being "left behind" is a setup, from the gassing to the handcuff to Claire's being sick to the medicine being left for her to everything. And he'll "see her next week," which for us means 3-5 eps from now.

I don't see them changing poison to poisonus. [sic]

They are not changing it. They are keywording it, and the keyword and the counter type wouldn't have the same name.

I doubt we'll be getting new frames, but in my opinion the future-shifted frames are hot.

Like the symbols (and the whole look of MTGO3, now that I've seen a nice big pic), love the future card frames, and wondering why some people wanna keep hatin' on Venser.

  • posted a message on Does one word make a whole book offensive?
I was seven when I first asked my mother why my nuts were called nuts, since you couldn't eat them. She pointed out that they were sometimes called balls, but that didn't mean I should play with them.

I was nine when she had to explain lovemaking to me, after I had impolitely referred to it as screwing (loudly, while it was happening, and to a third, er, fourth party).

I don't feel particularly damaged by those events. Then again, the Seventies were less-inhibited times, I suppose.

Anyhow, does a public library have the right to not stock the book in question? I suppose it does. Is this a correct decision? I think it is not. The use of the word in context is an appropriate one. It requires absolutely no explanation that a ten-year-old couldn't cope with. ("What's a scrotum?" "It's that sac hanging between the dog's legs." "Oh.")

  • posted a message on Morph Ruling - Prerelease
That's BS. When morph was first introduced, the head judge at the prerelease in Atlanta announced that there would be game losses given for this. I don't see why the rules would be any different now.

I myself got a game loss at a Friday Night Magic for making this same type of mistake, and I caught it later that same turn!

    IMO, you got screwed.

Yaawn... Wizards, print something NEW already!

They have. We're just seeing a lot of the timeshifted stuff right now.
Why the hell green gets to draw three cards? This is totally OUT of the FLAVOR.

Not really. It's a little out of flavor, given what we're used to, but hardly "totally" out.

This also implies that they may observe 4chan. That's just too wrong.

Actually, as of a few days ago, "they" can make 4chan disappear, without telling him - or anyone else - why. And he can then be subjected to "forceful interrogation." "They" need only declare him an "unlawful enemy combatant," the criteria for which are..."they" declare it.

Obvious fakes, and I reported the seller and alerted the bidders, although I think that anyone stupid enough to bid on these practically deserves what they get.

Edit: eBay makes it difficult to alert the buyers. Frown I'm getting a alert telling me my communication is blocked becuase I'm not involved in a transaction...

And: can't help but notice that all of his feedback is either from Sellers or from Italian buyers... how convenient.

The guy who spoilered ixidron first said that even if it's ability turns the creatures face down, they don't change power and toughness, nor they lose their abilities probably, they just get... turned face down and he gets ...powered up .Yeah, that's it.

Er... unless this card says otherwise (and there's no reason to think it will) all face-down creatures that weren't played face down via Illusionary Mask, are 2/2 creatures with no names, abilities, subtypes, colors, etc.
