congratulations! have you already tried Tezzeret's Gambit like Tom Ross did in one of his recent lists? Looks a little bit cute at first sight but seems great vs decks like UW where you care about card advantage or vs Tron, for example in order to increase counters on Chalice. ALso you are adding the obvious 1 infect counter on your opponent
Well Vissah is just right. ban of probe and the printing of ballista and push were just way worse than most (including pros) expected. Most people just argued we would drop out of tier 1 but the deck would still be viable. Well, no way we are tier 2 currently either. We are in a meta with heavy discard and were chalices are maindecked too. i hate to say this because my complete modern infect deck is foiled out (including fetchlands)and i would love to play it, but this deck is just utterly dead right now
How about Bone Picker in a RB 8-Whack shell? Flying damage is important if board is stalled and the bird is easy to cast for B considering the fact that we have so much stuff to trigger it. Mogg War Marshal, Mogg Fanatic (both Free = 0 Mana Trigger), Goblin Grenade, Bolt on opponents creatures etc.
So, I've been playing this deck in Modern for about 3 weeks and as of recent I've been getting smashed left and right. It's getting to the point to where I'm discouraged to pilot this deck. Spot removal is everywhere on untap and I can't seem to win on a consistent basis. How do you all handle this?
i think the deck is just very bad positioned in the current meta where some of the best decks have a good mu vs infect...deaths shadow decks play 8+ disruption and the same number of removal and provide a fast clock. eldrazi tron plays main chalice. Burn was always a pretty hard MU for us. Abzan is bad for us too.
Only these decks account for more than 30% share of the metagame, on paper it gets even worse from what i am experiencing.
So I would stongly encourage you to not play this deck right now in bigger tournaments.
/edit:
If I were to play the deck right now I would probably play 1 main temple garden, add 2-3 Geists in the board as well as a playset of white Leyline. This of course leaves us behind with less other sideboard options but helps against Death Shadow Decks, Grixis Decks and Burn.
My reasoning behind Leyline is that we need an answer for decks with heavy discard stuff like Death Shadow Decks. They can easily strip us off our only infect creature and beat us with their fast clock. With Leyline in play we kill 10 of their discard spells they have postboard (4 Inquisition, 4 Thoughtseize, 2 Brutality) and are unaffected by Liliana's sacrifice ability. Beeing good against Scapeshift and Burn too is like a nice side effect of Leyline altough I mainly implemented it against discard.
spell pierce or even dispel are just way more versatile, countering all kind of stuff like temur battle rage, burn spells to head, discard spells, blood moon, scapeshift or whatever. given how tight our sb slots are i would not consider playing turn aside.
also i believe drayd arbor is a must include in the current meta as it is a fetchable blocker against death shadow, burn and eldrazi decks.
I watched a guy on twitch yesterday playing this deck. He went 4-1, 5-0, 5-0 and 3-2 in competitive modern leagues on magic online.
his decklist is attached.
difference to most lists posted here is that he relies on 28 artifacts. most lists i see here only have like 24. I think i also would like to play the version with 28 main artifacts. while it may be a little less consistent you are less likely to brick when comboing and also have easier sideboard decisions. he often simply boarded out 4 equipments for whatever he needed and stil had 24 artifacts...
as someone who played Infect and even Bogles once i would like to understand how this deck is supposed to work with only 8 critical creatures that are needed for the combo? You have to mulligan every hand without one, right? Why not run Serum Powder to make the deck more consitent?

Actually i prefer the current lists playing Jace, but also nice to see that a version with 4 Invisible Stalker in the board made it so far.

Opt and Shapers' Sanctuary were two great additions to the deck imo. i think i will buy into it online and try it out myself

the document is a very nice primer for the deck in general and explains the card choices.
nevertheless i like disrupting shoal. but infect is probably not the kind of deck it belongs...
