@VD: Lucent Liminid is... well, a pretty bad card in general (5 mana for a 3/3 flying should at least get you another ability), and Maro said that enchantment creatures should feel like an enchantment in some way. The Liminid doesn't satisfy this, so that's why they didn't reprint it.

Oh I know how bad it is. But it was the first enchantment creature! It's part of our history!

Obtained a Platinum trophy on the PS3.

Ohhh. Hokay. I should probably have known that. I used to play console games exclusively before I built my computer. I probably haven't played my PS3 since 2010 :x

    Platinumed?

Loot is nice, but too much of it can really take away from the experience.

The last "lotsa loot" game I remember playing was Too Human and it seemed like I got a new sword or piece of armor every 3 minutes. And in most cases the improvements were minimal which made me not even bother fooling with the stuff. An hour or two down the road and I might actually have something that's significantly better.

Then again, Too Human was a horrible game anyway. Especially since you had to endure this unskippable sequence every time you respawned.

I have long been a fan of collecting things in games. FOr me, even if there's a crapload of loot, I typically end up selling it and amassing tons and tons of gold, because I like big numbers.

It's the loot that gets people in, from my experience Cool

That's why I love games like Diablo III and Guild Wars 2 (and, obviously, Borderlands :D:D:D): Randomized loot. It makes simply playing the game much more exciting and interesting.

    4. Holy moly!! What an expensive few weeks. Gonna buy a 3DS and Pokemon Y after the second thought to not buy it because the mega evolutions are total nonsense. But the fossils...uh...so cool. Nessie (mythology yay) and a T-Rex. Fudge Yeah!!!! Grin

My big problem with the new games is the Fairy type. It seems superfluous, and could have been left out in favor of a rework of the Normal type. Mega-evolutions are also kinda. . .ew? I dunno. It seems cheesy.

That said, I'm probably just suffering from I've-been-playing-pokemans-since-they-came-out-and-change-is-bad syndrome. There hasn't been a bad game yet, imo, and I've always come to love or feel neutrally about the new features that they add.

That, plus the fact that it's going to be 3D (or as 3D as any other 3DS game) and have a completely animated battle scene, and the fact that all the new Pokes are adorable and/or awesome.

P.S. IS anyone else disappointed that we didn't get Lucent Luminid as a future sight card with all these other enchantment creatures? Nessian Courser just doesn't make up for that.

I know what would get your mind off it!

    Heroin! Artist

    Evil Lol

Something tells me I'd just make some stupidly wonky deck and drool on myself while I hallucinate the things on the screen fighting on my keyboard.

    Good try though. :p

So, Scrolls is addictive it sounds like... Ceiling Cat is Watching You

Only if you consider the devil invading your soul and forcing you to play the game "addicting".

    Tell us about Scrolls VD!

Ho man. It's like Magic and Final Fantasy Tactics had a baby and that baby took steroids and grew up to be a gigantic ball of awesomeness. And then you wake up from that dream to the reality that there aren't enough cards yet, and you kinda miss Magic, but you can't bring yourself to stop clicking "Quick Match", and then it's suddenly 3 AM and your company's janitor is prodding you with his vacuum.

"Excuse me sir, you are working very late," he says. You laugh shyly and say, "Yes, working." Then you get in your car and drive home, and on the way you can't get the images of hexagons and wolves and zombies and soldiers out of your head, and so when you arrive at home at 3:30, you sit in front of your computer, muttering to yourself, "Just one more game." Before you know it, your cell phone is ringing. It's your boss.

"I know you worked late last night, <your name here>, but that doesn't mean you get to start at lunch today." You are confused You glance at your computer's system tray and notice that it is now 11:30 AM. You strip off yesterday's clothes and jump into the shower, and as you rinse out your hair, more images of hexagons and idols and numbers flash in front to of you closed eyes. You get out of the shower, sitting at your computer with a towel wrapped around your waist. You know you need to check your e-mail before you go to work, so you know if you missed any meetings. You hear a noise, and you see an icon on your computer's start bar flashing. You click the Scrolls icon, and see that your new friend, lolipwnyou98, wants to test his sick new combo. It will only take a few minutes he says, so you figure "Well, I'm already late, what can one game hurt?"

The game takes half an hour, stretching into dozens of turns. When you finally destroy him, he says
    LOL U SUCK REMATCH?!
    You hesitate.

"I was supposed to do something. . ." your mind wanders around itself, trying to look around the hexagons and numbers, but you can't find what you're looking for.

    Okay, let's do it!
    you type to lolipwnyou98.

A month later, you have a beard, you stink of rotting ramen and coffee, and you have been replaced at work by a 46-year-old asthmatic named Bobert. Your bills have been left unpaid, and your power has been shut off. You had fashioned a battery array out of old car batteries and a windable generator. You stop playing only once your cell company cuts off your 4G access. As your computer shuts off, your mind burns with hexagons, only the endless hexagons.

Another month later, your neighbor's dog barks at your door, and your neighbors call the police. Your body is found cradling your computer, the words "T3H H3X4G0NS" carved into the paint on its metal chassis, and written in blood on the walls.

One of the policemen says, "God damned junkies," before calling the coroner. His partner smirks.

    "Wonder what he was on."

    --

Later that night, in the police forensic's lab, the officers sit in front of a monitor showing your computer's contents. On it, your Scrolls account is already logged in. "Hey, man, this looks like fun."

The next morning, one of one of the officers is lying dead on the ground next to the other officer, who is clicking intently with the mouse. Their sergeant walks in, draws his firearm, and exclaims, "What happened?!"

The officer doesn't even look away from the screen. "It was my turn."

Wasn't there a membership requirement of like 2 months or something to participate last time though?

Also, please fill that questionnaire if you haven't already.

    1) Would you be OK with close clan friends joining in on the contest (i.e. Digi and like... Digi)?
    2) Would you be OK with drawing something for the contest? It wouldn't have to be perfect but as long as its something more than stickmen really.
    3) I'd like to involve some crafting for this, so would you guys be OK with possibly doing some real life crafting for this contest?
    4) If no to number 4, how would you guys feel between maybe a Comic Contest or a Custom Card Contest?

Ah. I'm not really in a position to do Secret Santa even if I were already a full-fledged member. Still, it sounds like fun.

I read the past three pages but am still utterly lost. What is this thing that people are confirming/denying, is it fun, and can I do it? :x

    Except not at all. :p

There's no alchemy really. There are scientists that use a combination of science and magic called Steamcasters though.

The main character is a woman from what's called the "Southernlands" and is Witchborn. She's the Commander of the 121st Dirigible Air Corps. :3

I just meant that there aren't enough alternate-history fantasy/sci-fi stories. Everyone either sticks to Victorian England (For Steampunk) the Future (for Sci-Fi) and a long time ago in a planet-that-isn't-really-earth-but-has-elves-and-dwarves (For fantasy). I need moar "This is Earth-like, except something cool and different happened" stories.

I just picked up the game (And am necroing, please forgive me). Lots of fun, and no pay-to-win. The game is simple enough to understand, but has deep undercurrents of strategy. Maybe we should start a "My name is blah in Scrolls." list.

If anyone wants to play (I think you can add friends. Not sure) I'm b4ux1t3 in-game.

It's steampunk. It's a bit complicated to explain. Basically, it's the world, but oil doesn't exist, WWI never ended, and magic exists. It's fun. :3

    The year is 1947.

I'm reminded of FMA. Which is awesome. There need to be more worlds like that.
