Not true, many judges keep a set for themself - but most of us end up getting so many of theese foils, and plane tickets to events arent exactly free
And a large portion just sells everything without exception...
I can vouch for this. I only tend to keep the foils I actually have a home for at the time. WotC is so good at just printing money, and I can't turn it down a lot of times.
Thought I'd give this a bump since I've made quite a few changes since the first posting of this topic. I'll probably do another update in the coming days, as I'm going to have to re-sleeve the deck and, as such, plan to do a pretty significant overhaul to get the opportunity to try a few new cards.
So, some time ago I had the whim to build a colorless deck. Karn seemed all to bland, so I looked at my other three options: Kozilek, Ulamog, and (at the time) Emrakul. 15 mana is just so much more than 10 or 11 that it hurts, so he doesn't seem like a great build around for what I was hoping to do, so it really came down t Kozilek vs Ulamog. Now, I'm a blue mage a heart. I love drawing me some extra cards. So the choice was obvious, and Kozilek began. Origionally it was little more than a bunch of fatties, some bad ramp, and even worse utility artifacts. As time went on, it's been refined into a fairly efficient killing machine. Now that I, myself, am (mostly) happy with the build I'm looking for the advice of MTGS: What needs to come in, what needs to go, and what are your reasons for the change?
Sensei's Divining Top - I'd somehow convinced myself that this was "unnecessary" for my deck as I wanted more draw rather than filtered draws, but after more consideration and coming too from my own stupidity I'll be jamming this in the next time I make changes.
Memory Jar - I don't know how I've overlooked this in previous iterations, and this is another one of those cards that's getting jammed in as soon as I get around to it.
Shimmer Myr - This little guy doesn't seem to do much work, and I recently realised (When updating this decklist) that the card and sleeve had gone missing from my deck. And that I hadn't noticed it at all. Long story short, I didn't miss him and his slot's entirely up for grabs. I think Winding Canyons can do the same job and not take a valuable spell slot.
Mimic Vat - The card is excellent when it's excellent, namely when I have a Sundering Titan or Myr Battlesphere or some other value creature from an opponent on it, but it honestly doesn't do as much work as I'd like. I find that it's a 3 mana do nothing way too often and, as such, it's definitely on the chopping block.
It That Betrays - This card is another one of those cards that's excellent when it works and awful otherwise. At 12 mana it competes with Kozilek far too often (And once Kozilek has been cast once, it's generally just Kozilek until I can either hit someone with him or win another way) an as such usually only sees play if I have Quicksilver Amulet. I feel like this guy should be some other form of more relevant threat. Living the dream with All Is Dust just isn't really worth it.
All comments, questions, and suggestions are more than welcome, so please rip this thing apart.
Edit: Finally updated some misc. changes I'd made. Excitingly, I discovered that I've lost a card. It's only a Shimmer Myr, but it's still annoying. Does anyone else have this problem as often as I do?
I could, personally, see Batterskull as an alternative tutor target vs aggro, but I'm far from seeing it replace SoFaF because the untap effect is just too strong to give up.
So, I myself have been putting together a Teeg brew similar to the ones in this thread. One card has come up and I was wondering what you folks thought about it and it's place in this deck: Beastmaster Ascension
Sometimes the deck just doesn't want to play nice and go infinite, but it does like to produce a boatload of tokens. Seems like a pretty quick way to get a finite win off of it and one of the many token producers.

Flashback still exiles it. It exiles any time it would leave the stack as a replacement effect.

I had a guy do that to me too. His reasoning was to turn on the Chained Throatseeker he had. It just drew me into more ways to kill the thing.
Thanks for turning my 6 power into 9.
This is by far the most important part of getting better.
