I want to see endless, sun-parched desert wastelands. Proud noble houses with ancient bloodlines. Vast networks of intergalactic commerce planned by clairvoyant mutants. Ritualized knife duals. Insidious shapeshifters. Scheming martial artist eugenicist witches. Personal forcefields that only stop fast things. Blue-eyed drug addicts filling the halls of power. Noble, bloodthirsty desert tribes worshiping the great sandworms -- no, make that sandwurms. Hell yeah, the block where we knock off Dune would be awesome.
I have a Gelectrode in play and tap him to deal one damage to my opponent. In response, he activates Flood's ability to tap Gelectrode. I say that Flood won't do anything to Gelectrode because tapping is part of the cost and it has already happened by the time he gets to respond. He says that's not how it works-- who's right?
I just dont see them naming the title of the book after a geographical portion of Zendikar. Its like having the Alara book called "Mountains of Vicious Jund" dosent pull the reader in, But perhaps your right.
Better let James Michener know
Akoum is mentioned as the location of a (the?) Eldrazi Monument in this Savor the Flavor article. In particular:

The gravitic shift is rarely so pronounced that you feel your pack dragged upward into the air, nice as that would be in the middle of a long expedition into the Teeth of Akoum
Nightmare Barbarian1BRR
Creature - Nightmare Barbarian
:symbr:, Discard a card at random: Nightmare Barbarian gets +1/+0 and first strike until end of turn.
Threshold -- As long as seven or more cards are in your graveyard Nightmare Barbarian has Frenzy X, where X is 3 minus the number of cards in your hand. (When this attacks and isn't blocked, it gets +X/+0 until end of turn.) "The first step to redemption lay in forsaking all humanity."
5/2
1)I was browsing some storyline information on the MTGS wiki earlier and I had this question: Does the current timeline place the imprisoning of the Eldrazi around the same time as the splitting of Alara? All the dates are so vague and I was just thinking that the energy requirement for imprisoning an entire race would be huge. Like almost the same amount of energy that splitting an entire plane would give and that maybe Sorin and his compatriots are responsible for splitting the plane. He has seen a plane "leveled" before, afterall.
2) Would any old pre-mending 'walker be able to split Alara just like that, anyway? I don't know too much about the older storyline, I just started playing during Alara Reborn.
The real million $ question is whether Ghostfire or its ilk will make an appearance...
Well, the Zendikar novel references the "Eye of Ugin, the source of the Eldrazi uprising" and the tattoo on the fire breathing man is very similar to the wall markings shown in the second "Search for the Eye" planeswalker comic. It seems like it would be more likely than not that the Eldrazi will have some sort of colorless theme.
That's why I keep a playset of Quickens in my wallet. They never know what hit 'em.
Even with the 2/2 theme a Golden Bear or 4 is worth considering. He's still a vanilla bear, afterall.
Words of Wilding belongs with Sylvan Library
Grafted Wargear is a pretty good equipment that won't interfere with the Petroglyphs.
Maybe too much land? You don't really want to draw a land with Gilt-Leaf Archdruid's ability, it'll just slow you down.
Heritage Druid loves Nettle Sentinel.
Elvish Archdruid, too expensive?

Quest for Ancient Secrets might be worth a blue splash
Necromancer's Covenant would be pretty funny in a creature heavy deck.
Open the Vaults with white artifact creatures and some of the better enchantments could be another way to go.
Crypt of Agadeem and Unearth creatures. Once they've put enough creatures into your graveyard you can unearth 5 or 6 of them for a winning combat round. Extractor Demon and Viscera Dragger are two of the best.
Lord of Extinction
Outside of Standard:
Feldon's Cane is simple, effective, and usable in any color deck.
Gaea's Blessing doesn't even have to be used by you to work.
Loaming Shaman
Mnemonic Nexus
Paradigm Shift
Piper's Melody
Primal Command
And many more.
Also, I've always wanted to put Riftstone Portal in a deck.

The tagline is "A World Enraged". The world could be enraged because its getting destroyed by Stone Rain, but I don't think that's very likely.
Also, I see they've changed the logo a bit since the initial announcement.
