There is no reason not to run fetch lands, they provide lots of synergy in the deck. YOur talking about mono colored decks, so running the border post would be like running a bad come into play tapped land, its not time sieve, you play fetches

If you want to play mono white you should probally build soldiers, but if you want to stick with the kor, ajani golamane is an auto include

The gw white build is the superior build in theory because it does not scoop to baneslayer, the mono green build has a really hard to time dealing with baneslayer

Well, the guy who just joined in August plays lots of Magic, and does not invest all of his time on forums. Sorry. But, my friends at the 5k have been updating me all day, and the mono green elves have been winning games all day. Actually over the curse of this week, elves have been written about on channelfireball, and talked about intensly, because in a meta where volcaninc fallout and like effects that were existant in the day of black white tokens have all but vanished, why not drop 12 elves by turn 4, then overrun, no problem. Don't be so critical of people you don't know, because I know a lot about Magic to support an argument.

So, the hot new deck had been nissa elves. It plays very much like the pre zendikar elfball lists. It cranks out a bunch of elves, and then uses overrun or eldrazi monument to win. As additional win conditions they have the nissa and the garruk. There are two different takes on the deck, one splashing white for path to deal with big creatures like baneslayer, and the approach which slpashes red for sarkhan, bolt, and bloodbraid. In the last report that I heard, three of these decks are in the top 8 of the Nashville 5k. This deck may be the next hot deck in standard, it apparently beats jund.

The mono green are very much elf based, they don't have any ant queens. They run nissa and garruk, and play like elfball to ramp out a ton of elfs then overrun, or they use eldarzi monument to win. Its a solid deck, and this morning before my frien went to the 5k, I texted him to watch put for nissa elves.

The list looks pretty bad for this hyper aggresive format, because ALl of your game winning spells come turn 8 and 9, and you have very little to stall until then, red deck wins, bushwacker, or jund will have you dead long before turn 9. If you are set on angels, i'd suggest emeria angel, baneslayer angel, battlegrace angel

There is not going to be any youtube or magic coverage, because it is not an event which gets feature coverage. You'll have to wait to read the individual reports of the writers who go.

Try building the deck in a turbofog shell ,and run the polymorph iona combo as an alternate win condition, so you have the abiltiy to fog you opponent, and potetially generate enough card advantage for youself thaat you can draw into your polymorph comb

So, by this point most of you who are going to go to the starcity games 5k in Nashville already have their deck choiches set in stone. I've closely been following all of the forums and articles over the course of the week, looking at all of the new tech thats come this week. I think based on that here is a breakdown of what the metagame should look like for tomorrow:

    Mostly Jund 60% or greater
You are definetly gonna want to have some sideboard or mainboard plan for jund, because it is the best deck at this point, and you will see a lot of it.

    Boros Bushwacker-15%(somewhere around there)
Between bushwacker and jund you already have over half the decks there probably. For bushwacker, your gonna want to have both spot, and early amounts of mass removal

    Random Control-5%
There are gonna be lots of the random control decks floating around. For the most part they will be cruel control or izzet control.

    Five Colour Cascade-5%
Another very popular archtype, you will definetly have sme people playing cascade, and it can randomly win out of now where due to the randomness of cascade.

    Red Deck Wins-5%
Another big deck. It comes out fast and wins fast. For this matchup you will need lots of exile effects, and spot removal.

    Naya-5%
Naya is powerful, and has many different approaches. It runs big creatures, and big threats. Cards like deathmark and maelstrom pulse post board are a big advantage.

    Mono White Control-5%
Lots of people are playing mono white control, because it is a fairly straightfiward deck that is easy to build and easy to play, and is well suited for the current meta.

    Other notable decks:
-Nissa Elves-this week, this deck has kind of surfaced, a more modern version of elf combo it generates lots of creatures, and then plays overrun.

    -Luminarch or Planeswalker Control
Lot of people are playing these decks, they are a little clunky, but will still be played

    -Rock
Good deck, you essentially just through the most powerful creatures in the format into a deck, and then turn cards sideways

Hope this helps, let me know how people do.

Blue red control is actually probally the best as far as control decks go. It has a solid mana base, and is able to have both a good early and late game, for more information, I would look at Kyle Sanchez' last article he wrote, which was on blue red control.

I've been playignfive colour cascade since the release of zendikar, and think tha the originally posted decklist is unplayable. First off, look at the mathchups the original poster put up, most of them are 40/60 odds, agaisnt you. Why would you play a deck that has a bad game one against the entire format?
