I feel as though I don't need it. I play 15 one mana enchantments that will eventually draw into the combo, and each time when I had one I felt as though that E Tutor would have just been okay. I'd rather develop a board presence and use either Solitary/Elephant Grass to stave them off. In fact, going in that same route, I considered swapping out Sigil for Sphere of Safety simply just to hold them off more. At its core, Enchantress is really a prison deck with a combo finish. Ive seem more and more decks eschewing E Tutor entirely. An argument against Sphere is that it doesn't have the same punch that Sigil can have; I've seen matches and lived through them were a errant Pernicious Deed on 0 undoes all the work you did to get your Angels. But, to each their own. It's WAY slower than Sigil, and that's something.

However, E Tutor certainly an option, and upping the white mana count to include possibly more lands (plains) would be worth a shot with E Tutor.

Oh, real quick. I cut a Forest from my build for a Dryad Arbor. Really liking that mana accel with GSZ. If you are short a land or don't have the Wild Growth effect for your land to ensure you have an Enchantress effect, GSZ for 0 and getting Arbor is real nice.

I've also considered, at the behest and testing of Freggle from The Source, to try out Eidolon of Blossoms and a Replenish sideboard, taking out all copies of RiP, but that seems way too over gratuitous and win more...but flashy and cool.

I run Eidolon and Progenitus for GSZ. I highly recommend Eidolon as a 1-of. It draws a card when it comes in and activates enchantresses.

People are judging this card without seeing what warriors are in this set. Possibly drawing multiple cards while boosting your guys ain't bad in a warrior deck.

I agree that a black splash for Tyrants Choice and Bump isn't necessary because 1: there are substitutes in red for them and 2: it adds the weakness of playing 2 colors. However I was thinking of trying out deaths shadow in a black build, because I find myself dealing myself a lot of damage between rifts, fetches, price and now eidolons. Might give a distance advantage over aggro decks and protection against sideboard.

Green might be a good splash color if only for destructive revelry.

Also, is out a consensus that lavamancer is no longer optimal? Personally I never really liked him cause I thought he was too slow and a poor top deck.

Good Magic cards should be synergistic. If you expect a card to effectively read, "When you cast this card, you win the game" in order for it to be a good card, you don't understand how Magic works.

I agree, but that doesn't change the fact that if a set doesn't have Baneslayers, Thundermaws, and Geists people won't like it. These cards are good by themselves. However, almost all the mechanics need other cards to work (devotion, heroic, and inspired, bestow), plus the god's abilities are based off other cards, so there really is no Geist or Snapcaster this set.

What I'm trying to say is that because this set relies much more heavily on synergy between the new mechanics and activators of those mechanics, it's very difficult to tell how good they are until they're out and you test them with the card pool.

Young Pyromancer is not better than this card, because they function completely differently. I think this card is amazing, but it also depends on what your opponent's deck looks like. I can see a deck that mains 4 of these or Young Pyromancer, with 4 of the other card in the sideboard. If you go against control, side you Firedancers for Pyromancers, and if against aggro/midrange side out Pyros for Firedancers.

The biggest issue people are having is that many of these cards are SYNERGISTIC, yet people are looking at them by themselves.

The problem is that all the mechanics deal with creatures. Monstrosity, devotion, heroic, inspired, tribute, bestow. They have yet to expand on them. Worse yet, they force them to make cards that deal specifically with creatures and not enchantments. They've managed to make a block full of enchantments not feel like an enchantment block, but a creature block. There is not one pure enchantment in the whole block so far. There is something wrong when I can not make an enchantment deck in an enchantment block, but I could in RtR.

Like I've said before, I love the set but I'm disappointed with it. There needs to be something that cares how many enchantments you have, or does something when you play an enchantment. Scars had plenty of non creature artifacts and you could make several artifact decks. And the mechanics supported it.

Sure, it may be a top-down greek design. But as soon as they saw that this would create an enchantment block, they should have supported it. I think they sacrificed mechanics for flavor.

I don't remember anyone complaining about the future sight borders or of the special frames in time shifted cards. Or for the colour shifter cards either. Heck no one complained about the eldrazi cards having no border.

They overhyped this change, I can barely tell the difference but if your going to make a change to the system, wouldn't an art competition be better? I am sure that if they gave us the chance to vote or allowed us to design our owns for a competition then we could have gotten better designs.

I know someone who quit because of the future sight frame.

Not sure if anyone did this already (didn't read the whole thread) but here is a side-by-side comparison. Sure the black bottom is certainly different and will take some getting used to but it makes the P/T numbers stand out more, easier to read the artist/set info and the art and text is clearly larger. Not a huge difference but it's growing on me already.

I like the new frame. Looking at them side by side reminds me how the old border, when you looked at the card you looked at the whole card without focusing in on anything. With the new frame, you focus on the upper part of the card and more on the art. Plus the reasons they gave are completely appropriate. My friend bought counterfeits from China recently; the problem in other countries might be greater. Also, bigger art and more text? All pluses. The ONLY thing I'm not sure on is the holofoil. And the font is also a light change that will tie everything together nicely.

A lot of people will complain just from any change even if the change is for the best. When will people accept the fact that Wizards know what they're doing.

    Quote from Duke Daemon
The only YMTC card that could be slightly worse then this is Vanish into Memory which can be very powerful in the right decks but in Limited not so much.

This card is aweful because of the amount of work taken to make it and not because of it's ability. We worked harder trying to make this then Crucible fo Worlds. The fact that we had to tell Wizards they messed up isn't even funny. When someone messes up at their job you want some retribution and all we got was a sudden death between all the names. That is bull.

Yes the card is great in discard deck but if your playing legacy discard, there are better things you could be doing rather than this card. It seems only viable in standard, as Liliana's Caress stands above this card. You could run both but not by turn 2 unless you run Simian Spirit Guide in modern.

So many people here are just angry that their design wasn't chosen and nothing more. We all voted on the design, and the one with the most votes won. How is this in any way unfair or a failure. And anyone who says waste not is just a horrible card with no playability anywhere doesn't know what they're talking about. The fact that this ramps into LotV nicely is a huge plus. It is as abusable as crucible of worlds, it just has more of a focus on casual play.

The most interesting thing is that it only costs one B, and it costs 3, 1 less then most sweepers. This will definitely see some play somewhere, but I'm wondering if decks will splash for this.

I do like it's synergy with Death's Shadow.

Yeah, I'd say this is a shoe-in for my merfolk deck. Clique power levels there. Almost impossible to kill, and you can even equip it!

This also protects from sources that player controls, so it is unblockable and can block any creature and can't be targeted by their creatures.

Luckily aside from City of Traitors nothing in this deck is very expensive. And there are enough variants that you can try some yourself. There's old dragon stompy with Rackdos Pit Dragon and now Thundermaw, then there's Werewolf. I still use planeswalker with Koth and the new Chandra now, and I added Kuldotha Pheonixes for extra fun.
