This should have been a 2-3 mana card. Even in limited, it wouldn't have been that powerful because as of right now the second ability does absolutely nothing in sealed and draft.
Can't wait to flash this out against someone casting a Splendid Reclamation or Gaea's Will or somesuch in Commander.
Nice design besides, good job to Wizards on this cycle.
I like this more than exiling graves. It does the same job but can also be used to prevent your own grave from getting exiled, as well as milled out. A very niche but cool card.
If they dont give me the full cycle i will write an angry letter to them.
Who are the other four Dragons?
Also, I feel like the mana cost could have been a flat 6 due to the heavy mana restrictions and the upkeep cost. It's kind of a big bumb card that's hard to do stuff with.
Has anyone said whether or not this card is part of a cycle or not?
I do see good odds of there being a mega cycle across Modern Horizons sets though. Maybe a Goblin God, zombie God, etc. For all of the classic old tribes
Highly doubtful. Green already has storm dino, golgari squirrel, and unannounced evoke mythics. Unless green magically has 4 mythics in this set, seems a bit unlikely.
i really like her for some reason, but i also recognize she's not every good.
I mean, a 2 mana card that let's you get artifacts (that draw you cards) for playing creatures in a creature centric color pair seems pretty good to me. It's not as busted as some of the other Simic Legends, but I would say this fits into the 99 quite often.
yep, pretty much going to be the standard with these things going forward. no msrp, one or two eye catching reprints, pushed new cards, rampant speculation.
despite it being print to demand or whatever, it'll turn out exactly like jump start. better stock up and hoard it all because who knows when you'll see it again. CONSUME CONSUME!
FOMO is strong with these new premium lotto tickets.
It's hard to not see it like this. With everything that has transpired in the past year or two it seems like the stars have aligned for WotC to put us in a chokehold if we want to get magic cards at a fair price. Im not saying the pandemic didn't originally screw up printing runs, but I'm also not saying that WotC didn't benefit from it as well. The FOMO is outrageous. There are still singles from Jumpstart I can't even get my hands on... and they're not even mythics...
I don't know where you're shopping, but I've found them for less. Set boxes are on Ebay for under $250 and Collector box for under $390. Ordered a draft box from my LGS for $220= $235 with tax. Just because places list it for high prices, doesn't mean people have to buy it for those prices. Aside from Ebay, there are several places that have had them listed for about a month now. Look for them when they're first announced or shortly thereafter. Also, I've already ordered several boxes of the Adventures of the Forgotten Realms set & it doesn't come out for another 2 months. It just takes a little work to save money if you want to spend on these. Otherwise, you can save a lot of money by not buying any.
I was checking out Amazon and some other online sources
Not irrelevant in my Gyome deck!
But honestly this shines more in my Lord Windgrace deck for obvious reasons.
Good card is good!
This is more like, "Guy who can escape death"
I think this confirms he is a planeswalker though, where as before he just appeared in multiple arts. Hopefully he gets a fitting card one day.
Damn is pretty neat. The versatility improves its power by a lot.

Even something like a single Boros Charm makes this pretty nuts.
