I mean.... you drop this, it taps some dude, and itself, then, it remains tapped.....
to be untapped on turn 5 at the earliest where a vanilla 3/5 will not likely be relevant anymore.
if the entire ETB was a may, the card would be pretty good.
as is.... damn......
I mean, it's not like you're not going to be doing anything on turn four or five.
Both arts on the Adult Gold Dragon are beautiful. I love Chris Rahn's work... it always has this magical charm to it. Being that this is an adult gold dragon, I have high hopes for a legendary ancient one in a future expansion down the line.
I've wanted more marine lands with art like this for so long.
They almost delivered the perfect card, truly.
Giant instead of Kraken.
Honestly WOTC, I'm so done. Seriously.
Yeah, it bothers me too that they keep dishing out Giant's to Blue instead of like Krakens and Serpents. Nobody cares about the big dumb humanoid rave. Give us more tentacles and crab claws please!
So... would've indestructible on this be too much? I mean it's EXTREMELY difficult to kill a Tarrasque, which is classically killed by putting it into a Bag of Holding, then putting that Bag of Holding into another Bag of Holding. These are pretty much invulnerable.
For balance and flavor purposes, it could probably have indestructible even without the cast trigger if it shuffled itself into its owner's library if it dies.
And like I said, to push WotC's new keyword darling: Ward.
Yeah I think they missed the mark on this. They wanted to make Ward a thing so bad, but in doing so forgot about making it a flavorful design. It should have at least self reanimated from the graveyard or shuffled itself back into your deck.
I know for a fact the Bant-chantress deck is getting revealed first. I know it, because I will become nasty otherwise.
I hope not. That one sounds like the most boring one of the bunch. I'm hoping Loading Ready Run doesn't slow-roll this one though.
Ya know, while I respect that a lot of people probably just saw LRR on the list and tuned in specifically to get the list, I don't feel that they were "slow-rolling" the Witherbloom deck. Everything that they sent out was very transparent about them having their pre-prerelease and THEN spoiling the deck. Like, I had read announcements regarding that a couple days ahead of time.
LRR didn't do any of that annoying BS of just giving you a picture and drip-feeding abilities one line at a time like some previewers have. They didn't spoil one card between each match to force you to watch their entire event. They followed through with a plan that they made an honest effort to communicate in advance.
I do understand people who just want the spoilers and who don't want to sit through the rest. I personally think that LRR should have done the spoilers first as giving them out after a tournament of uncertain length means that they could not give you a definite time to tune in and get the info. I still don't feel that qualifies as slow-rolling, though.
I think they should have spread them out throughout the stream instead of wait until the middle of the night.
I think I'd want Rotwing's Breath to cost at least 5 for limited. Unconditional removal is usually costed at 4 these days but the fact that the gravedigger ability isn't optional helps I guess. Either way I like the design was just trying to pin down how powerful it would likely be as a 2 for 1 in a normal limited set.
As for Rotwing I love the design. It's exactly the sort of slow value creature I gravitate towards. Just does everything I want to do in a game of magic even if it's probably way to slow for competitive play. I just adore it.
Yeah I suppose so could see what you mean about Rotwing's Breath. I'll up it to 5 mana.
Also I am glad you like Rotwing! I would love for Wizards to print something like this, as it feels like it could be a strong budget card with a lot of flavor and would find a home in many decks.
Just a fun legendary I imagined for the D&D set. This would be an ancient black dragon that became a dracolich. It's kind of a slow, inevitable threat that plays well in its color. I could see it being the head of a theme deck or something, maybe like the flagship card for Black.

At the beginning of your upkeep, return target creature card from your graveyard to your hand.
You may cast Rotwing, Dracolich from your graveyard by sacrificing a creature in addition to paying its other costs.

Honestly, out of all the IPs we've explored so far, this one makes the most sense, and is probably the only one I would accept if I had made the call on it myself.
Other than limited, that crawler is going to stay dead. Ugh what a bad payoff for such a long process. That's what you get for a 2/1 B uncommon.
'buster
Yeah, to be honest I feel like it would have been fine if it triggered off venturing into the dungeon rather than completing it. I mean... its a 2/1 that enters the battlefield tapped, and you only return it to your hand. I feel like it would have been more flavorful anyway if it was while you were still in the dungeon they came back, not afterwards.

Also has the best flavor text lol
Congratulations, you've just triggered my OCD

The decks sound interesting; I definitely want to check out the Dungeons of Death and the Dragon one, depending on what they focus on.
Either way, they sound interesting at least.

Agreed. I think I'll name him Jennifer.

I'll take my trusty Reassembling Skeleton any day over this guy.
