Hi there! I was dropping in to see how Magic was doing and I like what's been done with the Standard forums. =) I just thought I'd throw in my two cents as to what I thought might help improve the forums a little bit.
First off, I do like how each of the top tier decks has it's own subforum and the discussion can be divvied up on a variety of points. Well executed... However, there is one point which may seem "noobish" or uninformed (well, it kind of is... but I think it might help people who are looking to get into competitive) is that none of the decks have any kind of description really as to how they work.
As said, for the most part people visiting the competitive forums will usually have an idea anyway. But I've been considering getting back into Magic and the competitive scene, but I have no idea how any of these decks work because all that's offered is a decklist with a bunch of cards. I'm not saying a super detailed breakdown is required, but just a general sum-up of how it operates would be helpful... Maybe just include a little "Strong vs./Bad vs." I think that just having a little bit of detailed information would even be helpful to already competitive players who are simply looking to change gears and try a different deck.
That's just my two cents. As said, this is coming from an ex-competitive player who is thinking about getting back into the game, and hasn't seen a Magic card in about two years, much less played a game lol. Even if it was just a big sticky in competitive giving a rough idea of how the different decks work/place in the metagame, I think something like that would be very helpful.
Hey peepz... I don't know how many here still remember me, but I haven't played Magic or posted on these forums in years now... lol. I got the sudden urge to check out how Magic was doing, and holy crap... It looks like I've missed out on a lot. =P
Anyways, I'm probably not going to stick around too long. But I just figured I'd make my presence known and greet all of you lol. Who knows though... I've been looking for a hobby to pass the time... And I *may* decide to get back into the game... So you might see me here a little more often. =)
This forum is not intended to help you tune your deck. The initial question was alright, but since it has long passed and now the discussion is SIMPLY in regards to tuning your deck, this thread will be closed. Feel free to start a thread in Decks for Critique pertaining to your deck.
Well it's more the admins since they do the coding and the alike. I don't think it's a HUGE change... But I can bring it up in the lounge and see what they think.
Having Counterspell in Type II right now would almost be suicide for the format... Faeries are incredibly powerful already... Can you imagine what would happen if Counterspell got thrown into the mix?
Type II isn't ready yet... R&D needs to be more careful with designing blue cards from now on, and once theyve restored relative "balance" to the colors, maybe and just MAYBE then they can bring counterspell back.
Are you depressed? Do you feel that the world isn't going your way? Being a Minion testing your sanity and your will to live? Feeling like you're getting ready to snap as people continually order you around?

I think perhaps instead of having a "Favourite Expansion" or "Favourite Deck" or whatever... It should INSTEAD be "Preferred Format" and "Current Deck" or something to that effect... I see a LOT of users putting that information in their sigs, and I don't think it would hurt to change it up to reflect that in the profiles... Since that actually might be semi-useful information to have in there in terms of what each player LIKES to play (in terms of format) and what kind of deck they are running.
I absolutely LOVE this FNM promo... And I'm definitely going to have to pick up four of these... I love the new card face (I've loved the new face from day 1) and I absolutely without question love the art ten times more than the original... Absolutely fantastic.
It happens to be in July too... The month of my birthday!
So whereabouts do I go exactly to notify whoever that the clan rep has changed? Since well... Anyone who sees jimbyob's name right now probably now knows who he is :xd: and the people involved with clan maintenance etc. should know that a banned clan rep isn't exactly a reliable one...
It's probably for the best... I guess it's an honor to be the Clan Rep... Even though I have a feeling I'm going to get a serious crash course in what that entails... It's all good though.
I spent about 12 hours playing Magic yesterday... It was sweeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeet...
The irony is, when I play Magic I'm usually not here for a while... And when I'm here I'm not playing Magic... I play/talk about Magic so much it's almost worrysome

As for Vintage, nope... I'm pretty much exclusively a Type II player... It's like, my obsession and I don't quite understand why.
