I think that cuts down the speed of the deck and adds more control elements to it. Imo it sounds like you are trying to do multiple things at once.

I've moved Spreading Seas to the sideboard and Ponder is the only card I have that is blue mainboard.
Since I've splashed blue, it's been a major influence in 6 of my last 7 games.
Ponder to Lightning Bolt for the reach victory was the last one. For a deck that needs such selective cards to click, Ponder is working wonders in this deck.
I haven't seen anyone mention this, but I've been playtesting a blue splash with 3x Ponder and 3x Spreading seas. It's been phenomenal so far, and is a fairly easy splash that really doesn't slow the deck down much because both cards provide card draw.
The threat of having 2 PW's out at the same time is much better, especially since Elspeth and Ajani are almost exactly as useful in these decks. I run 2 Ajani 1 Elspeth and I love it.

Take out one Ajani, put in one Elspeth.
