I widened the spreadsheet so my comments are readable. Most of what I have to say is there. Also: 0 Mage/Sculler. Very interesting card choices. Everyone forgot their Vindicates, with the expected consequences.
Well... we don't really need him to announce it. We can look at the spreadsheet already from the link in this thread. I won't spoil the surprise for anyone who wants to wait for an official post though.
Don't spoil it for people who don't want to peek.
Also, I think this week demonstrates exactly why we do need some bannings.
I think I know what you're referring to, but I really disagree. No card has dominated the format twice. We haven't seen any archetype that can't be answered in many different ways.
Results are done (they were done last night), but I'll let personman make the announcement. The card choices were very interesting this week, and I think they show that we don't need to ban anything.
I did my best to fix the 2CB #1 results, based on comments on the thread. I do not take any responsibility for the accuracy of the results, but I believe they now agree with the comments.
I was looking forward to the backbuild round, but I guess I'll be ready when it comes around later.
If bmh hadn't changed his deck at the last minute, I would have won. My 5 3-3 ties cost me dearly.
Anyway, I think backbuild could be an interesting format. Offhand, I can think of a number of viable decks, no one of which beats (i.e., loses to) all the others.
Nexus' pumping ability costs mana, so you can't attack for 2 or make a 3/3 blocker. That means you can't even draw with Nether Spirit.
EDIT: Disregard this post, see below.
I agree. I didn't think about it, but there are so few ways to beat it. When there are 6 identical decks, that's not a good thing.
