@{mikeyG}: Even with the book being split into two movies (the "Deathly Hallows treatment"), I doubt that they'll keep that half-vampire spawning story intact.
Which brings up another question that deserves an answer: how the ☺☺☺☺ do you change that ☺☺☺☺ into something that both stays true to the source at least a little bit and still retains the PG-13 rating that the series is obviously shooting for? I want my pictures of horrified mothers!...
I also just realized that if the mothers go to see this makes-/b/-look-sane-in-comparison movie they probably like the series and see nothing wrong with it... ergo my desire to see the look of utter horror on the faces of the female gender will never come to fruition.
Still, I'm filming the ☺☺☺☺ out of this!

Dec 1, 2009CrovaxtheCursed posted a message on Why Breaking Dawn MUST Be Made Into A MovieYeah, it's not often that I totally rip an article, but it was just so hilarious that I couldn't pass it up.Posted in: Random Rants
Been reading the comments on the original site, also, and thought that, even though Cronenberg is the best choice for this ☺☺☺☺, there were also some other interesting choices. Tarantino (style matches, but he's so successful that he won't touch Twilight with a 50-foot pole), Uwe Boll (he only makes crap video game movies, so he's out), Sam Raimi (after Spider-Man, he's in the same boat as Tarantino)... can't think of anyone else. So Cronenberg would probably be the guy to do it, even though from what I've heard is that they're speeding up the marriage thing between Bella and Edward and cutting out the kid angle and the 4th book altogether, so I'll have to be a sad panda.
Wait, you know what? I'm a theatre major. I've done well directing. I can easily make fake blood. I'm the damn president of my college's stage combat club...I'm filming the ☺☺☺☺ out of this whether it gets made or not! -

Honestly, I don't care if nobody reads my blog. It's more of a way for me to air out my anger at what I see as the amazing stupidity humans tend to exhibit. "*****ing to no one" can actually be kinda healthy. What do you think journals are?
Quote from Tyler Durden »Obviously, stuff's gonna go down in these dorm rooms, if not between the girl and the guy that live there, then with friends of either parties.
That's kinda my point. The parent in question, IMO, doesn't seem to TRUST her ADULT daughter to not be sexually responsible. You may call it naive, but I don't think it's "obvious" that stuff is gonna go down. Reasons follow:
Quote from Tyler Durden »Maybe you don't understand how college works,
Oh, I understand how college works. I'm just finishing up my junior year at college, and while it may be a commuter college I still feel I have been able to learn a great deal about how college works. Sure, there's always gonna be those college students who screw up with no parental supervision, but I have, for lack of a better word, "faith" that most college students are there because they want to be, and because they genuinely want a great life for themselves, and they'll concentrate on obtaining that goal instead of confirming these idiot parents' fears with sex each night or whatever.
Quote from Tyler Durden »It'll end up awkward and unnecessary 95% of the time; let me tell you from experience, where I roomed with girls in the same suite (read: not the same room) my first year of college, and guess what? Stuff happened, and it was awkward.
I'm gonna end my reply with these:
1) Sorry that you felt that it was awkward, but I feel that stuff like that happening could be good for you. You in the general "group" sense. I'm not saying you personally here, since I have no clue who you really are, and thus have no right to make any specific judgments. I think experience is the best teacher, bar none. You do stuff, learn that what happened was awkward, and thus try to prevent it from happening again. Remember, the professors aren't the only people in college who can teach you things.
2) If you (or perchance anyone else reading this post) is actually interested, the daughter of the mom I railed against has responded to the story here. -

What you guys don't seem to get is that Maddox doesn't have the angsty sense of humor that a 13 year old usually has.
First of all, I wouldn't really call Maddox a "hero" of mine. Sure, there was a time when I found him quite funny. I'll admit that. But I've since grown out of that. To me, he's now just about as funny as Jay Leno. And that's pretty bad.
Quote from Tyler Durden »You don't even have a good reason for not liking fat people; you just don't like them because they're fat. You posted a story which is probably fabricated to demonstrate how you think fat people are also intellectually inferior to people who aren't, then spent the rest of the blog complaining about something that isn't really all that offensive. Did a fat guy kill your family or something? Cause otherwise, you don't really have a decent reason to hate them.
Sure, the story might be fabricated. I don't know, this is a second-hand relation of something. However, I do think that fat people exhibit at least a greater lack of common sense than other people. And the insistence of fat people that people be a lot more sensitive about their weight is pretty damn offensive, at least to me. IMO, obesity is the leading factor of the incredible pussification of American social behaviors. We have to constantly massage their fragile psyches, which never makes them want to lose that weight that could be threatening them. Instead, we could be blunt and almost callous, which I hope would make that person want to do something about their current problem, like losing weight and getting healthier.
Quote from Tyler Durden »It's not as easy as "EAT A BANANA, STUPID".
However, when reduced to its simplest terms, it is. Eating could be an addiction, but all it takes to beat an addiction is the willpower to end it.
Quote from Tyler Durden »So start actually knowing what you're talking about before you say you hate it. The last thing we need in the world is blind hatred.
But...but...blind hatred is so much fun!:D -
Dec 5, 2008CrovaxtheCursed posted a message on The Show Episode 1Thanks for the grats! Now, on to the answers:Posted in: Random Rants
The music in the background is One Winged Angel, from Final Fantasy VII. I'm still looking around for some appropriate contemporary instrumental-only music for the background, and this was the first thing that popped into my head. And it was also pretty much the only thing I had already on my hard drive.:p
The voice might sound broken for one of two reasons that I can think of: 1) For whatever reason, I hated my voice so I initially intended to release it with my voice lowered by a couple of steps, but then decided that that would amount to a huge lie, and then I had to go back and re-increase the vocal pitch. Either that or the fact that I was doing the show with an entirely numb lower jaw since I had to get three fillings put in a few hours prior. But a promise is a promise, and I promised that the show would be released on the second, so there it is. -

Nov 14, 2008CrovaxtheCursed posted a message on Movie Review: Quantum of SolacePosted in: Random RantsQuote from mysticspeculation »Haven't seen the movie, but the title is from a short story that since the movie's release seems to have dissappeared of the internet, probably because while before hand it was quite obscure and not particularly representative of the James Bond stories in general, it is now being re-published. Oh well. Basically it is about Bond's more human side and how everyone around him fails to notice or care that he has one. The term "quantum of solace" relates to the compassion one person has for another.
Sure, but the problem I have is that Bond titles are never this abstract. Dr. No was the name of the villain. Same with Goldfinger. License to Kill was the thing that got taken away from Bond and hampered his mission. The World is not Enough was his family motto. Never has a title been so hard to tie in to the movie itself. -

Sep 3, 2008CrovaxtheCursed posted a message on Quick political complaintPosted in: Random RantsQuote from velict »Are you really expecting Palin to just condemn her daughter? I would be much more hesistant to vote for a VP that is willing to disown her own daughter because she got pregnant. If anything, Palin support of her daughter shows her emphasis on family values. It's certainly not hypocrisy.
Besides, character attacks - and even worse, attacks on a politician's children - is the lowest form of politics.
I don't expect her to condemn her daughter. I didn't say anything about what I expect her to do. I just pointed out what I thought was a bit of hypocrisy. That's all.
Here's the hypocrisy:
James Dobson of Focus on the Family approves of unmarried teen pregnancy, as long as it's a white Republican unmarried teen.
If it was anyone else, he would be yelling his ass off about it. -

As for game ideas, try going old-school with stuff like Super Mario RPG, Chrono Trigger, and Earthbound. Those would definately be for the "Let's Partly Play" category.
I'm a little confused about the "WTF..." one. Is it like you're conducting an interview about the game with the person on the other end while you're playing it?
As for emulators, I would suggest several, but I don't know if talking about that kind of thing is against the rules. If it isn't, I'll share some really great ones with you. Just not now.:p -
Jul 31, 2008CrovaxtheCursed posted a message on The Beginning Is the End Is the BeginningWow, am I the only person who both pays attention to these blogs AND has read the Watchmen graphic novel already?:pPosted in: TarmoBlog
I really don't know about this movie. Part of me is going, "Yay! It's gonna rock!" but another part of me is going, "Dammit, the source just doesn't lend itself well to translating onto the big screen." Of course, it's been a while since I've read the thing, plus I was reading Thus Spoke Zarathustra at the same time I was reading Watchmen, so I might have to go through it again. I'm a little leery about it, TBH. About as leery as I was when I heard about the villains appearing in Spider-Man 3, and my gut feeling was right on that one. - To post a comment, please login or register a new account.
I looked up the Manalink 3.0 thread/board and there is a small walkthrough for first-timers like myself. It mentions installing the Portals to Theros distribution by Korath, however the link provided goes to a dead MediaFire page. I'm hoping there's some way around this.
Oh, and I also need to update the Blackhawks portion by adding the years 2013 and 2015 to the overlay over the Blackhawks logo.
As for my sig, if someone could please take this image:

Perhaps, but that seems like it'd make my 3CMC slot really crowded. I've got Phyrexian Rager, Chittering Rats (which I'm considering replacing with Liliana's Specter), and Oubliette.
Hmmm, wondering what I can cut for the 4th Witches and/or more Unearths. Looking at the list and after playing it seems like the logical choice would be -2 Victim of Night, +1 Cuombajj Witches +1 Unearth. Then SB -3 Wrench Mind +3 Hymn to Tourach. Shrivel plus Pestilence seems really good against Goblins.
Mind sharing your list? If it's commons only I'm curious how it might perform in Pauper. I've always been drawn to a Lowland Stompy deck.
4x Barren Moor
1x Bojuka Bog
3x Cuombajj Witches
4x Phyrexian Rager
4x Chittering Rats
4x Gray Merchant of Asphodel
2x Gurmag Angler
2x Unearth
4x Chainer's Edict
4x Sign in Blood
2x Victim of Night
2x Oubliette
2x Tendrils of Corruption
1x Pestilence
3x Duress
2x Font of Return
2x Shrivel

4x Choking Sands
1x Pestilence
As for finding groups, there really is only 1 game store in my city, and that's where everyone else plays. Don't know where another group could be found.
I mean, I want to go, but I don't, if that makes any sense. I'm also broke as hell. I feel pulled in opposite directions.
